- In 1800, Napoleon Bonaparte led the Second Italian campaign to reconquer territories in Italy occupied by the Austrians. Famously crossing the St. Bernard Pass in the Alps, Napoleon surprise attacked the Austrians in the plains of Marengo, where the climactic Battle of Marengo was fought! This is a recreation of the battle in LEGO Stopmotion.
Frames Per Second (FPS): 20
Music: Marche Slave, by Tchaikovsky - Фільми й анімація
I just realized that napoleon had kid legs and really good animation
This is absolutely amazing 😃😃
Wow your stop motion is super smoothly made, you deserve more subscribers 👍👍👍👍
This is quite nicely done and detailed, great content!
Thank you!
I really like the detail you put in this like the hats on the Austrian cavalry soldiers
Thank you! :)
Got to admire the Austrian at 5:20 He's been fighting the whole battle with a smile on his face all the time, even when he had his hat shot off. This guy is good for morale 🙂
Great video.
Haha, he loves his job.
Thanks!
Nice
Didn’t think I’d find you here
@@tsmotions3446 I'm trying to watch all lego history films. not only on big popular channels but also I'm watching history films on small unknown - so I'm everywhere LOL
@@LCMhistory I get it.
Huge fan
@@tsmotions3446 i also didn’t thought that
This is epic subbed!
Such great work!
This is awsome, you’re very underrated I would say you’re around haggis films skill
Thanks! :)
STOP SAYING IT'S UNDERRATED YOU RUDE
@@punyapatsuttikul5841 Saying he’s underrated is saying that he doesn’t get the attention he deserves. Saying he’s underrated is being nice.
Fantastic!
Epic battle well done
Thank you! :D
:)
Amazing film.Keep going!
Thank you! Will do!
Great video, nice and smooth however, just a few history buffs.
Canister shot was an ideal war of clearing out the enemy, it was invented in 1784 by Henry shrapnel however it did have limited range and so you would have to wait for the line infantry to get close to your ballistics
This is actually very good
and the video was great
Thank you!
Very gooooood!!! Mate!
Thanks!
Wow great job!
Thanks!
The Austrian flag should be black on top and yellow at the bottom
Oh yeah, you're right. Thanks for pointing that out. :)
So epic
Also, a great detail would be every time a soldier on the first line dies, the one in the second line could fill in.
Yes that's a good idea, thanks! :) I will do whenever I make another Napoleonic wars video.
nice animations and great minifigures:)
Thank you! :)
Great
La formación de cerrada de los austriacos es mi favorita
this video is the soul reason im going to pass my history class
Good luck, glad it helps :)
I like the formation that you got them to do
Thanks!
Great video! Will you ever do another video like this again?
Thanks! I definitely want to at some point! But with so many projects that I always have planned, I’m not sure when I will ever get around to making another one 😅
Very cool, you have great potential!
My advice is to make your future animation more smoother and better sound effects would be great too!
Thanks for the advice! :)
I’m subscribing, I hope one day you get 100000 subs!
Thanks for subbing, I hope so too! :D
nice
Where did you get the austrian soldiers from?
They are custom drawn torsos by me, and attached to the minifigs with double sided tape.
Btw I subscribed
Cool 😎
Thanks 😎
You only need the bayonets for the muskets.
I hope to get some when I make another Napoleonic video at some point.
Also I've noticed (particularely with the austrian soldiers and Napoleon Bonaparte) that they are wearing decals. Did you draw them yourself? If so that's really cool.
Yes, I drew them! :D Thank you!
@@StarBrickStudios That's so cool. I draw Napoleonic uniforms on my channel. Wanna see? My most rescent vieo is about a japanese ww2 unifomd
Nice, i'll check it out. :)
@@StarBrickStudios Thats impressive theyre really hard to draw
This is great! How did you manage to get so many blue coats?
Thanks! Years of collecting them. The best place to find them though would be on Bricklink if your looking to get some.
@@StarBrickStudios thanks!
Wow, nice! Any ideas on where to get the mini figures?
Thanks. :) Most of the French soldiers are classic Bluecoats from the 1989 Pirates line. They can probably be found on eBay or Amazon. Napoleon and the Austrians are custom made mini figures by me.
Star Brick Studios awesome. Any particular sellers on eBay?
@@tsmotions3446 Sorry, not that I know of.
What a fantastic LEGO Stopmotion you've got here my friend!
Thank you!
Only 8 dislikes on the video I am impressed keep it up 👍
This is FANTASTIC and make sure to follow much of the battle. It seems even Kellerman's charge is featured haha!
Thank you! Yes I included Kellerman's charge as well. :D
I watched this many times
Wow, thank you very much!
@@StarBrickStudios 😁 yw
Very smooth film but a tip for next time: better audio.
Thanks, I will try and improve on that. 👍
Very nicely done! Only some problems with uniforms:
1. Until 1808 the french mostly wore bicornes, no shakos.
2. Only french grenadiers wore the red epauletts. Normal french soldiers wouldnt.
3. Austrian Cavalry would wear a helmet. The headwear you gave them seems to be the hat austrian grenadiers wear.
4. The french flags. Those flags are more like the ones used by the empire. (-->garde IMPÉRIALE)
The imperial flags would have something different written on it though. on one side would stand "valeur et discipline" (or battle honours) and on the other side :
l'empereur
(de francais)
au (insert number) regiment d'infanterie
de ligne
for ild guard:
garde impériale
L'empereur napoleon
au 1/2 régiment
des grenadiers a pied
note however that the flag design was changed throughout the napoleonic wars. Dont forget the eagles though.
flags from revolutionary period look very different.
Thanks I really appreciate the constructive criticism, I'll keep it in mind!
What do you use for the video just a question
I use my an app called Stop motion studio, and another app called Gun movie FX.
Thank you for the information you should make more of these videos there cool 😎 you inspire me
You must do more vidéo liek that ! Amazing battle
What software do you use for stop motion and gun shoots
For the stop motion I use an app called Stop Motion Studio, and for the shooting effects I use an app called gun movie fx. Hope this helps! :)
@@StarBrickStudios I know does apps what's the gun effect name your use
I can't really remember, but i'm sure you can find it on the app if you look for similar ones.
How did you make that Napoleon hat?
It’s one of those lego Pirate Bicorne hats that I added a yellow/gold paper lining to using double sided tape.
Where i can get the soldier minifigures?
The French soldiers are classic 1989 LEGO bluecoat soldiers, and can be found on Amazon and eBay. Napoleon and the Austrian soldiers have custom drawn torsos by me.
Star Brick Studios thanks for the info, new subscriber :)
Star Brick Studios check my last video, its an animation like yours
Austrians?! Wowie! I never see Austrians
You sound kinda shy. But other than that everything is fine
I was trying to pull off a French accent. :P Also not all the voices were mine, which ones are you referring to?
@@StarBrickStudios nearly all, i mean that you spoke, you actually put your voice but i think you should higher your voice
Alsi ich bin ja grosser Napoleon fan ubd ich finde das Viedeo sehr geik
Vielen Dank!
i hope this is a Austrian victory
You will be disappointed then. :P
Sorry the French wins. Vive la France 🇫🇷 :D
@@rambow420you should say that on october 13th 1813
Me gusta la guerra
Lovely flag of Austrians
Thanks :)
Btw the Asturias army was a great and powerful army back then
I know, I hope I portrayed that well. :)
Yes you did my Friend
What fps
For this one I used 20 FPS.
I saw that you drew one shirt of the blue coats how can I do it
Answer please
@@lightingbruh6244 Oh sorry, I must have missed your comment. To answer your question, I didn't actually draw any of the Bluecoats shirts, but I did draw all the Austrians Soldiers shirts. My advice would be to try and copy the official Lego Bluecoat shirts as close as you can, and for attaching them to the minifigs I use double sided tape. Hope this helps!
I hate how he literally drew the flag instead of printing it
Yeah sorry. I would definitely print the flags out if I made it now.
1.5 speed best speed, also photoshopped crown? Did you not have a crown piece?
I do have a crown piece, but the piece is connected to brown hair. The classic King's hairpiece from Minifigure series 13. So I had to do a bit of photoshopping to make it look like the crown was on Napoleon's black hairpiece.
At 3:14, an officer should’ve commanded the retreat and not a normal soldier
Nice
Thanks
