They almost ran out of boolets. Good job, man! You were previously talking about how much time you spent on the film that did not involve fighting. Well, I'm here to tell you that those pauses from the fighting are actually good. You're taking the time to explain the history instead of just displaying a shootout. It's also kinda nice to have a break from the fighting during the film. It really balances the film and makes it better. So well done!
I have to point out the very accurate use of the Martini-Henry rifle here, the very reason the British were able to fight off an attacker over 10 times their strength.
Very epic video mate! My dad shared his fascination for the insane Zulu attacks with me which is why I ended up here. Needless to say that he's also a big fan of the battle at Little Big Horn.

Whilst I do think this is a very well made video, I do want to point out 3 things. The first is the facial hair. John Chard had a mustache and Gonville Bromhead had a set of sideburns. I won’t fault you for that as it is Lego and there aren’t many great representations of their style facial hair. Secondly, the few zulus that did have firearms had old muskets from trading with locals, not martini Henry rifles. Finally, Durnfords horse did not refuse to participate. Infact, upon the request to take on the zulus, moved ahead of the mission station and engaged them. They were forced to flee from the battle after running out of ammunition. The 24th foot, thinking they were being cowardly, fired several shots at the fleeing horsemen killing Corporal Anderson who was part Durnfords, not the 24th as depicted. Again, I don’t think this is a bad production whatsoever. The same mistakes were made in the movie adaptation of the battle which I assume is where many of these mistakes originated. I did enjoy the night fight, something that the movie fails to depict. I do want to thank you for making this video. Whilst there are inaccuracies, I am glad that you made it in the first place. It’s better to have people who are interested in learning about things like this than to have nobody at all. Thank you.
Bro can I please see your source on the Durnford part? It’s not that I don’t believe you it’s just that in my studies of wiki, books, articles, youtube, etc, I’ve never heard of that part. Having a whole Calvary there then retreating is a whole new interesting part of this cool battle
@@Settidoesart I mean it says so even on the Wikipedia articles. If you look at the “strength” section, it states “NNH” or Natal Native Horse as well as “Briefly engaged then fled.” There is also a few videos that state this fact if you look up what actually happened at Rorke’s Drift.
I think a video by “The History Chap” titled, “The Battle of Rorke’s Drift - The Reality v the film “Zulu”” explains it the best, but I think Brandon F also made mention on it in one of his 2 videos on the topic, that being “Seriously, how did the British win at Rorke’s Drift?”
So awesome! Would love to do some War stuff on my Stop Motion Channel someday. The mixing of real history and lego stop motion is really fun. Keep up the great work!
Very nice my friend i love the movie and i love your movie too and its cool that you took lines persons and other stuff from the movie. So well done pal have a nice weekend you rock!!
I do not know if you still comment on new comments on old videos But where do you get your Lego pieces from? As a history buff when it comes to the expansion of South Africa for the British Empire I simple wanted to know
@LCMhistory the Zulu at Rorkes Drift didn't have them because they were the reserve contingent. While they did have flintlock rifles, they used very few due to a lack of powder and balls. Plus, they were horrible shots. That's one of the mistakes the movie Zulu makes. Don't get me wrong, it's a very good movie and is mostly accurate, but that's one of those few things in it that is inaccurate
@@brianwelch-qq3ti hmmm... they were in reserves - that';s right. And in the movie they did shoot from Henry rifles, correct. You wanna say that they didnt plunder the camp at Izandlwana so didnt have an opportunity to grab rifles to the Rorke's drift?
@@brianwelch-qq3ti But! What they did during the fight at Izandlwana? They followed and killed those british who managed to escape from the camp. So technically even they in reserves could get those rifles, like few of them
Hello there my friend! :D How are you? Also you did a great job! :D What will you do for your next stop motion? Will you be doing possibly the next part of the Battle of Antietam? Cause on Brickmania they have Confederate minifigures on it including an officer one as well! :D
@sirisaacbrock798 No, it's because Zulu war implies that it was the only war that the Zulus were involved in, which it was not. Anglo- Zulu war, however, respects the fact that it was the only war that the Zulus had with the British.
@@lKES1898 Sorry, know nothing about bonanza... Maybe someone reselling old chinese stuff. I saw smth similar at Aliexpress recently but not exactly the ones I used. The one I used are real copy of the Zulu war soldiers

I completely forgot that this video was coming out. But thank god I remembered
This Zulu war battle is the greatest in history my friend, I hope it’s very perfect in designing this lego stop motion
Well done! This was a big project and a lot of work. You did yourself proud! really liked some of the unique camera angles. Thanks for putting it up.

Well done indeed ol chap. The sky at the end really portrays a long battle. 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
The voices of the minifigures are from the zulu movie 1964
Absolutely fantastic! Well done!

You should do an animation on the Harlem Hellfighters.
yeah!
The Zulu king did say do not attack if they was behind a defensive position
Such a good vid
Ooooo, it has come. Great job!
Cool!
Very Well done
The British troops at Rorke's Drift were lucky to have been defending a supply depot, or they wouldn't have had 20,000 rounds to begin with.
True
the cavalry did not flee they went to the south and defended the mission station untill they ran out of ammo before retreating
