Really excellent video. Only thing to discuss (and wasn't mentioned) is how and where to steer the attacker (and why). Where do you not want the attacker to be able to access (what parts of the pitch), etc.
Very impressive high levels of successful tackling btw, mainly because the attacker was forced onto the defender's strong stick at just the right moment. Good tackle timing too.

@@goof5068 I am late but you can easly tell that Paul is the best player, leïa in second and Laurence in third. You see it by the control of the ball and Laurence raise his stick way too high when he need to shot !
What is the best most accurate way to pass on an astro pitch? Greetings from South Africa love the videos
Michael Wow use whatever technique you are most comfortable and accurate with! What distance are you passing over? Push pass should be fine for shorter stuff. Really should be able to push over third to half a pitch width. Slap or hit for longer or faster passes. Depends on how slow the pitch is too (e.g. is it quite sandy or dry) and how urgently you need to get the ball to your team mate.

Goede tips! Ik zit er zelf aan te denken weer te gaan hockeyen, ik heb vroeger 1,5 jaar gehockeyd maar ben gestopt toen Mn vader overleed , hij was onze trainer/coach... maar door andere hockeyers en jullie filmpjes begint het weer te kriebelen, ben alleen bang dat ik nu n achterstand heb op de rest en niet op niveau mee kan spelen, ik zou volgend jaar al naar de A moeten namelijk😕
Door weer veel te oefenen kan je altijd weer beter worden. 👍🏼🏑💪🏼

Get the right length of stick first! Put stick vertically from ground, along leg, to middle of hip.

Don't get low bow unless you are a drag flicker. Get stick that feels good to you.

kevin D I like kookaburra but most sticks are ok. A stick is a stick. It is how good your techniques are, which is important. For example, a low bow helps A LOT with aerials but having a good aerial technique is much more important. A low bow helps you to move the ball more easily when ball is on left side of your body. It will make keeping the ball flat on hits more difficult though.
I like a mid bow - it is a good, balanced stick profile. Make your technique good, not buy a stick that makes up for it 😉
