    I said in Afrikaans (Dutch dialect from the continent of Africa....no, there's no lions in our cities in South Africa!!) that your video's are helping me a lot... Coaching u14 girls b-team. Have many in team that only started to play hockey this year...we have to compete against rugby and netball in primary school.. many schools don't have hockey at primary level...unbelieveable hey...?

    Start the flick from the shaft or grove and finish with the toe . You start from the toe and finished with the grove . It will reduce the force

      But remember there is more then one technique
      The upright drag is used by the Brittish dragflicker
      The one you showed us is a low drag flick

  • @Njx063

    tysm I tried to do a drag flick today but couldn't figure out how to walk, aim or get the ball move like that on my stick. I only managed to get the ball high and at a normal speed ig since I couldn't do that motion. It wasn't a scoop or anything it just was a high straight push lol

    Not to be a critic, but you told us to start with the ball in the middle of your stick and then roll it to the end of the stick at 3:34. But then when you showed us how to do it at 5:15 you started with your ball at the end of the stick. So which one is it.

    Hockey is o ne of innovative game that can change in every second. Many have tennis elbow and unable to draig flick .
    In this trick very few fraction of sec to see where you want to insert the kucuboora ball.
    There is one problem for G keeper that on after specific hight he she unable to see ball due to helmet.
    Keeper see the origin of ball only.
    Take serious be cause I was see traing courses. I am 62 and yet playing hockey on terf .

    what is this? his hands are so far apart and he doesn't pick the ball up on the head of the stick? your hands are meant to be about a fist apart and your meant to pick it up on the head of your stick, then the balls travels up the stick and then the final 'whip' is what generates power. What he's doing will give accuracy but not nearly as much power as he could get

    • @tinchairs6384
      @tinchairs6384 7 років тому

      he knows how to do the technical stuff but he fails on the basics? im so confused

    • @tinchairs6384

      thomas has a better dragflick he just needs to start rotation earlier

    • @Jv9673

      Different people have different styles. Just saying

    • @jcalpha103
      @jcalpha103 7 років тому +2

      Rather than the ball travelling up the stick the stick travels down the ball- the most efficient and most powerful line is if the ball in the movement travels in a perfectly straight line with the stick rotating around it hence flickers have used drag flick rails to improve their technique.
      Also I don’t think these guys were lunging out enough and their leading foot wasn’t alway pointed at goal which can damage the knee overtime .Also as you said they didn’t have their hands close enough together for the final sling action.

    • @HockeyheroesTV
      @HockeyheroesTV  7 років тому +4

      A lot of different styles of course. As Lawrence said in the video, he is a bit rusty. But we still hope you enjoyed the video.
