You both are cute. Watching German satire ...
I must defend myself due to the stuttgart 21 main station accusations:
They started the building in 2001 and in 2011- 10years later- they asked the citizes, whether or not they are supposed to finish the building.
Whats a big city to do without a station?
We never had a choice😢
Yes. That was misleading, as if the citizen are responsible for that disaster. That's why I struggle to like that show. Most of the time they are correct and funny. But here and there something is just not right and I can't explain why. (It feels like mixed in propaganda.) And for my taste, they just do a bit too much bashing at the expense of the intelligence behind these jokes. Again, for my taste, satire has to be a bit better than that. (And there are definitely better examples in Germany.)
The tragedy for many Brits was that the delay was **not endless**. That would have been better for so many people.
Hi..react to ; Extra3 😊😊😊
It was even worse for me during the Brexit period. I am German but had lived in the UK for about 10 years at the time, so I got both British and German media overload. I always thought Brexit was a mistake, but now that I see what the mostly unelected EU is doing, I'm not so sure any longer. I do know that the UK was often a voice of reason in the EU.
What do you mean by not elected?
@@martinaklee-webster1276 Did you elect any member of the EU Commission?
@@Arsenic71 was anyone from the british house of lords elected and who vote for Rishi Sunak. Some weeks ago i vote for the EU Parlament, wasn t it an election. Just ask for a friend.
The members of parliament are elected and the create a government (I.e. the commission) and the council is made up of representatives of the local governments (who also are elected). To therefore call the EU bodies „unelected“ shows a lack of understanding of how democracy works. The problem is rather that democracy is not an ideal form of government (people tend to vote for AFD, Meloni or Brexit - and then that‘s what you get.) but also Churchill had to admit that democracy is not an ideal form of government - but also that he doesn't know any better form!
Voice of reason?
For as long as I can remember, first the EC and then the EU: "we are against it, against it, against it!"
A British TV sketch put it nicely:
"We are only joining the EU to destroy it from within."
