    I own four Smith & Wesson M&P AR15-22s, two of which are Performance Center models. Frankly, they are head and shoulders above the other competitors in their clas. I shoot about a thousand rounds a week through various guns, and compete with rifle, pistol, sporting clays, etc. Three of the four AR15-22s have been seriously modded for various purposes, so the Tippman M4 has stiff competition.
    The day after my Tiippman M4 arrived, i took it along with seven other guns to a Project Appleseed shoot for our Scouts. When the brand new Tippman's hammer broke on shot #8, I was not impressed. After swapping in a spare CMC trigger from the gearbag, that thing shot lights out. With a real triigger, the Tippman is more accurate than any M&P that i have ever shot. No, it is not a Tikka or a CZ, but I have never seen a semi-auto that is this precise, And there were no other jams, misfeeds or FTFs for the rest of the weekend. This week I will debut it at our Thursday night Steel Speed Shoot vs everyone else's M&Ps to get a real test.

    I have the m4-22 Pro and the redline. They are both amazing for any shooter. Tippmann for the win.

      Other than the flare, what is the difference between the redline and Elite or pro??

    • @FoothillsAdventures
      @FoothillsAdventures Рік тому

      @@aymanjoudar5425 nothing really. The function is the same. The kids like shooting the redline. The redline came with a red dot on it and mine didn't, I had to add it. You could pull up to a competition with either one and dominate.

  • @uk.teenage.female.clay.shooter

    This is what I like to hear as a new .22 shooter coming to the sport, Tippmann is the best!

    In my country (CZ) MP cost between $850-$990 depends on market. Tip M4-22 Elite cost same as Pro. $990-$1070

    Different entry point into both rifles. They both represent their price point in my opinion. I don't think the M&P 15-22 in general, is a platform for high end competition shooting. It's something I would buy for my kid to learn on.

    You turned me on to Timber Creek accessories. Pardon this potentially dumb question... If I want to replace the factory hand guard on my Tippman M4-22 with the Timber Creek guard, it is a simple matter of removing and replacing... the Tippman barrel nut is not removed? Thanks!

    • @valortec
      @valortec  Рік тому

      Yes it is very simple. You need to use the barrel nut for your new hanguard but will reuse the barrel locking shims on the tippmann

    To be fair, MP 14-22 is suitable for plinkers, outdoorsman, newbies and "old folks" like me who doesn't need much technical with guns.
    Besides, MP 15-22 is affordable, cheap on ammo, plentiful add-ons to choose from, less recoil, light weight and we don't need much accuracy for self defence. We need to remember MP 15-22 can hit anything within 50-100m with certain accuracy ✅
    On the other hand, Tippman M4 is for all those all-year round AR15 favorites who love the "real thang" instead of cheap plastic 😅

    • @ACommenterOnYouTube
      @ACommenterOnYouTube 8 місяців тому +3

      i agree with you, if this is just for practice and shooting around the yard and you don't care about "quality" then the MP 15-22 is great.
      If you want it for professional and competition use, then def the Tippmann as its MORE AR15 than the MP.

    Didn't have to grind on mine ( M&P)..to make a new hanguard to fit tight. You do know that the tippmann is more expensive...22lr does not need to have all metal other than Barrel and BCG. Both are great to have pros and cons to both.

    Great video and I agree the Tippman is the best AR in 22LR on the market. I’ve never had a failure with mine, which is surprising given it is almost expected that a 22 will have occasional failures.

  • @IsmaelReyesPenzo

    Tippman is the best. Feels more solid, like a real AR 5.56. The M&P feels cheap like a plastic toy (even tough is a good .22 LR rifle).

  • @ED-es2qv
    @ED-es2qv Рік тому +1

    My new M&P 15-22 has a squishy plastic safety that pops into the fire position when I put the sling over my shoulder. It doesn’t seem to have a detent to keep it in safe, but has one on fire.
    I don’t recommend this dangerous toy.
    Also, I left the plastic magazine in my Jeep one day, and it won’t work anymore if I put more than 6 rounds in (yes, I know they jam if you take the tension off when loading, so that’s not the problem. The plastic warped.

      They sure are, i own a Tippmann M4-22 Elite L and i absolutely love it. The only difference between it and the AR 15 is the calibre. Streets ahead of the M&P 15-22 (i used to own one). The Smith never let me down at all though, (Same with the Tippmann) but it felt like it was made by Fisher-Price from Toys-R-Us. Every control on the Tippmann is functional and it has some heft. It is well worth the extra cost, no question. It comes with two mags included in a polymer hard case unlike the Smith's cardboard box.

    • @valortec
      @valortec  2 роки тому +2

      Great question!! MP 15-22 lower is a bit wider/thicker than a standard/mil spec lower. In example.. the safety selector, trigger pins won't work from a mil spec. The handguard is a project!! You need a adapter nut from tacticool22 and some Dremel work.. to make it really nice. Those are some of the details. You can check Mag load in UK..they have bunch of 3d printed accessories for the 15-22

    I really hope that people know that "tactical" actually means nothing that won't reflect or stand out. Lights and scopes stand out especially in the sun and night.
    If people actually had to live or need strength from something even if you have to repel 500 feet strait down if yo drop it and have to retrieve it then maybe you don't need skinny polymer. Unless you want to look "tacticool" on a range.

    I shoot at least 300 rds of cheapest, dirtiest ammo (whatever I can find locally) out of my full-metal Tippmann M4-22 Micro Elite every weekend. Even with crappy Remington hollowpoint ammo it is reliable, and dead accurate, and could be my SHTF gun easily. It is very easy to field strip and clean it.
    I have absolutely no desire to buy plastic M&P 15-22.
    S&W completely discredited itself by installing stupid magazine disconnectors and spongy hinged triggers on their M&P pistols.

      I know! Plenty of people have very mixed feelings about it. But here is the story... I used to be a competitive shooter and was looking into a color that created exactly those mixed feelings and that calls the attention immediately, either disgust or like. So we went with the color you see. I personally don't care about it nor the sponsors, they just want "eyeballs" on their products. I just one something that is functional and reliable. And that ugly blue, got me the 1st place at Area 6 steel nationals years back on my last pro event. The color is not about my personal preference it's about marketing. Something that the younger (age or experience) shooters looking for sponsors don't understand. Thanks for liking and commenting in our videos! Stay safe.

    Why is this even a debate? Just build a dedicated 22lr AR. I don’t even claim to know what I’m doing and I built 2 last year during Covid and only spend about $650 each. Full metal everything, it’s a full blown mil spec AR with a dedicated 22 (no gas) barrel bolt and bolt catch…aside from those 3 every component is mil spec AR
    To answer the ? Tippman over Smith all day

    • @valortec
      @valortec  2 роки тому

      The Hammerli / HK are made by Umarex Walther to be sold under both brand names. They look cool and tactical, but they don't stand next to the Tippmann. Hammerli /HK feels more like a toy and a "want to be" tactical 22. Then you go to upgrades and you have almost no options. As stated briefly on the video, I have tested & shot for some time, almost every platform of 22lr AR/M4. The top contenders being the S&W and the Tippmannn M4 22 taking the 1st place.

    • @jeremyjeremy8795
      @jeremyjeremy8795 2 роки тому +1

      to make it truly right you need to put the catch 22 bolt catch in along with the bore buddy buffer plug. The upper rec is the same but you will want the CMMG charging handle as it doesn’t have the hollow channel in it which prevents the gas from blowing back in your eyes. Any standard AR rail will work and then you get a dedicated 22lr barrel and bolt from either CMMG or Right to Bear and just put it all together like any other AR build. I should probably do a video for the two I built

    The s&w is not for adults at all in my opinion. What it did for me was train my 8 year old how to run an ar15 before he could handle real weight. It worked like a dream for this purpose then I promptly got rid of that no zero holding cracker jack prize pos. So don't completely discount it it does have a purpose served quite well by the light weight and "toy" feel.

      It was the first rifle,I bought at beginning of corona, and I agree, it doesn’t hold zero. I’ve been told because of the plastic. At first it never jammed on me, but now it’s completely unreliable. I was thinking maybe it needs more oil. Whatever the case, you’re 100% right, it’s a p.o.s.

    The Tippman is nice but it's WAY more of a headache if you plan on changing ANYTHING Lol Plus, I'll stick with the $20 dollar mags instead of the $50+ dollar mags! Until I actually try 1, I can't say it's crap but still Lol The new micro is interesting tho!! FYI-You know your torquing the shit out of that charging handle, right? Most of "Us" aren't doing what you're doing apparently. I run drills and courses with mine, if I was doing competition, I'd have a COMPLETELY different rifle!!! Lol Hopefully somebody got something useful here, I got to laugh for 10 mins at you making those insane faces Haha What are you doing!??? Lol Thanks for sharing

      our local shop has the mags for 24.99! so apparently where you are buying is ripping everyone. The Tippman is as easy to change parts as in any AR Centerfire patform. Not like the S&W, Hammerli, HK, Mossberg etc ones...
