I dont comment often on any on channel. But I just felt so compelled to on this one. I cant Express just how much i enjoy your videos and the ones containing gaming magazines are my most favorite. My wife thought I was a big goof ball for collecting 80s and 90s game magazines but I told her it's fun to see and read about games I wanted and had those many years ago (I'm 37) and here is such a great channel for such content. Domo arigato ^_^
Daniel Shimoda totally agree with you. In our day, magazines were where we got all our info from and I would read every single page, including the ads! I loved them! I’ve got several boxes of gaming magazines in my garage
This was a fun trip down memory lane despite that I never actually subscribed to this magazine. My two gaming mags of choice were GamePro and the apparently little-known Tips & Tricks. I got so excited every time a new issue would show up in the mailbox as a kid. Since the internet was still very young, these magazines were a gamer's go-to source for making informed decisions about rentals and purchases. Nothing was worse than taking a gamble on a new game only to realize within minutes of firing it up that you'd squandered that $40! I was a little disappointed to see you didn't acknowledge two of my all-time favorites that showed up in this issue -- the obscure multiplayer Poy Poy (9:10) and the strategy game Vandal Hearts (13:20). With such an abundance of content, though, and given that no two gamers ever have the same experiences, I'm not surprised. The system had such a rich game library even though it had only been out about two years by the time this magazine was hot off the press!
GMJ7 Who doesn't know about Tips & Tricks? That magazine was a spin-off of one of my all-time favorites, Video Games & Computer Entertainment. I agree that nothing was worse than throwing away money on bad games. I unfortunately had a lot of experience doing that back in the day. :(
+sandplasma Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it. I was sort of on the fence about continuing with these but I think I've seen enough positive comments that I'll make more!
+Classic Gaming Quarterly Please do more PSM. This magazine was amazing the first few years. I liked Gamepro prior to PSM,but I never could find another mag like PSM. Ever. It just had that certain something. Everything was written well, imo. When I got it in the mail every month,I was so excited. I could read them over and over again. Man,I miss it...
So happy I found this. This wasn't my first videogame magazine but it was definitely my favorite issue. Thanks for brining me back. Every one of those pages brought back a memory. I really wish I knew what happened to my magazine collection. I think they got lost in a move at some point. Shame. The PSMs and OPMs with their demo discs were during the golden era of gaming for me. This is the best kind of nostalgia. And man, Destruction Derby 2 was one of my favorite games. I ran up an over $100 late charge fee at Blockbuster for Gex. FF7, TR2, Colony Wars.. So many good games in this issue. That sticker stayed on the lid of my PSX until it kicked the bucket lol. Deathtrap Dungeon was actually a game just the other day I was thinking of that I couldn't remember the name of for the life of me. Ah, this was so great. Thank you so much for this.
I didn't go to Sears, because I worked at Target at the time. I preordered or something FF7 and got the same shirt that was pictured in the ad. Still have the shirt, but it is way worn.
Thanks for the info on Chris Slate of PSM's Editor in Chief. Where is the whole crew these days I wonder? This was a fun subscription magazine over the years.
I love waking up early in the morning with a coffee and a nice bowl of moonrocks as I read my 90s gamepros, expert gamer, electronic gaming monthly magazines.....man I miss the late 90s
+BlueHokage Cool man, thanks! I think I am going to do an early issue of Gamefan next. Will probably upload it next weekend (already have a new episode scheduled for tomorrow). Thanks for watching!
I remember seeing gameday 98 and thinking it looked so realistic. I was so impressed I bought 99. the thing I remember the most was the juke button could make your player completely untackable.
Mine is mint too. Never stretched the spine or anything. Don't have the stickers anymore though. Used them way back then :) Unfortunately for us, I don't think our copies of this issue are worth more than a few bucks, if anything.
I just found out that Stephen Frost, who was an editor at PSM starting with this launch issue, has a UA-cam channel! Check it out! ua-cam.com/channels/BA-OWTJHCiNj6JTkeCWZaA.html
PSM! Sweet! This was the only gaming mag I would make sure to pick up from the newsstand every month - I'm actually in the process of recollecting all the PSMs I had way back in the day, as they were all lost during my many moves since high school. Regardless, I really enjoyed this trip through memory lane as you flipped through the pages.
I really like these man, very insightful and interesting throwback at what gaming was like those days. Great channel! I really like listening to your videos even as background, they're relaxing to listen to. Keep 'em coming!
This is a magazine I remember so fondly. So wonderful to read. Great art. Enthusiastic reviews. Just a real fun indie mag with a slick presentation. It was the sort of magazine that guys like Johnny Millennium and Mark Bussler would write. And then it became a boring industry magazine, eventually endorsed by Sony.
Also want to pipe in with some corrections: Game Players Magazine made the transition to Ultra GP while Chris Slate was still active Editor in Chief. About 3 to 4 months into the change was when he took up the task of heading up PSM. UGP continued for the rest of the year under the leadership of eventual Bungie Development Director Frank O'Connor. The magazine then made one final transition into Game Buyer Magazine for a further three issues before finally closing up shop. Extra fun facts: UGP Associate Editor Francesca Reyes went on to head up OXM (Official Xbox Magazine) as their EiC, and after PSM completed it's run, Chris Slate took over as Nintendo Power's EiC for the rest of its life span.
No. I was just a super-nosey fan-kid, one who literally lived and breathed all things Game Players back in the day. The thing that the magazine had going for it that no other did was the openness and accessibility of the editors. They gave their honest, raw opinions on games and things happening in the industry at the time. They showed their pictures at the front of each issue, not hiding behind personas (Game Pro) or walls of sterile text (EGM). You got to "know" these people (for a time they had their e-mails posted next to their bios, and would actually respond if you wrote!), and that helped me develop a loyalty. When they would branch off to new projects and magazines, I followed behind them (Chris to PSM and NP, Fran to OXM), because I liked and respected their thoughts and opinions.
awesome concept to review this magazine!! I still have the First copy. And also about the first 2 years worth of issues. What made it great was it was independent. They told you things others weren't willing to. Also the LID STICKERS!!! and MEMORY CARD STICKERS!!!
While I agree beat em up's are generally better in 2D...you cannot deny Die Hard Arcade and Dynamite Deku were incredible in 3D. Had Streets of Rage made it into 3D with the Die Hard Arcade team at the helm it would have been great. The original State of Emergency was another fantastic 3D beat em up.
Hey man, huge fan of your videos. What camera were you using that was only doing 720p? It was a little hard to see some of the magazine details. What did you end up upgrading to? Keep up the thorough and great work! Cheers from China.
Hey! That was a Canon S95, because it was the only camera that was wide enough to get the whole magazine in the frame. I ended up buying a 24mm lens for my DSLR, which can get the whole magazine in-frame. Thanks for watching!
would love to see more magazine flashbacks. There are many lapses in my game playing days. Times when I left from playing video games. These are great watching them from you cause you really know your stuff.
+TheChicagocid Thanks! I'll definitely be doing more of these. Just bought a new lens for my camera specifically for this purpose (haven't used it for a video yet.) Did you check out the Die Hard Game Fan episode? Really happy with how that one turned out.
I still have my very first issue of PSM. 1997-2000 was an amazing era for PSM, but I continued to subscribe to it until around 2005 and the charm that it had gone away and just felt like a regular magazine.
1:27 I was expecting you to say that Chris Slate later became the editor-in-chief for Nintendo Power. I had no idea he is from Archdale, North Carolina. Archdale is a small city south of where I was born and raised, High Point, North Carolina. Wow. Thanks for all your videos, CGQ.
Had this #1 and a subscription for several years. Saved them all and came home from college one day to find them gone. Dad trashed them. Always loved swapping the disc lid stickers
That's messed up. When I was a kid, my parents would tell me how they used to have stacks of old baseball cards. "I had a stack of Hank Aaron rookie cards, but my parents threw them away!", they would say. These same people donated my Transformers when I wasn't looking.
I just sub to your channel and I am loving the content. Keep up the great work. I look forward to watching all of your old videos and look forward to the new stuff!
+voits81 Thanks! Some of the old stuff is pretty rough because I didn't know what I was doing, but I still covered some cool games. Thanks for watching!
Man I get so emotional when I look back and see things like this.. , best time to be alive , the magazines were so cool back in the 90s/early 2000s , I remember playing spyro , crash bandicoot , abes odyssey the games were so great , I remember waiting for GTA III in 2000 and being shocked at how great it looked as it was one of the PS2s early releases lol where did the time go..
Man, I remember growing up with magazine (though started w/ the MGS1 issue, which I then got that Christmas). Will always remember the Valkyrie Wilde prank. Somehow got me at the time. Probably because I was like 8....
I never finished Final Fantasy 7. I just got bored with it and I think after seeing I had played the game for 30+ hours I felt that was kind of a ridiculous investment of time. I saw others finish the game and I guess that was good enough for me. My first two PS1 games were Twisted Metal and NFL Gameday '98. I didn't mind Gameday at the time, it was good enough to fill in before I got what I was really waiting for which was EA's College football games. That was a fun trip down memory lane and you're 100% right, posting all of that personal info was a sign of the times when everyone wasn't so paranoid. Great video, thanks for sharing this Chris!
Ah the memories. I still have my original copy of this issue, and the one with the "PS2 Revealed!" cover (Nov '99). Sadly, I was young and slapped that lid sticker right on my system lol
Re- the Net Yaroze. The official UK Playstation magazine used put the best homemade games onto a monthly Demo disc for a short period of time. There were some fun little games on it, but its a shame it never seemed to reach its potential as it was an interesting concept.
PSM. That's an awesome magazine. They were pretty wild-- the same crew had a magazine called Game Players and, eventually Ultra Game Players magazine. Good times. One of my craziest memories was when they did a magazine an issue before the PS2 launched. They reported that it was going to look like the Dreamcast--at the same time, I had an issue of the Official Plastation magazine that had a PS2 on the cover! PSM was soooo wrong!
Man....it's amazing how quickly times change. I figured since it was in 1997 and featured FF7, it would feel a lot like mags today....but it honestly feels more like some of the early 90s mags with lingo like "Radical" and "Way Cool". The internet existed in '97, and a lot of people had it, but there were a lot of people who DIDN'T have it (myself included), so there's still a lot of people sending in letters, and searching for niche items in catalogues and at conventions instead of online. By 2001 these game magazines looked a lot more similar to what they do today...including all the issues that print media have in competing with internet media.
Lot's of great points. I definitely didn't have internet yet in 97. I *think* I got it in 98 when I finally upgraded my PC and left DOS behind. I wasn't the type to send letters in to magazines, but I used to pore over the pages of PSM in 1997 and early 1998 because it was my only source of news about the Playstation.
I remember I was in 6th grade...my first year in middle school...it was early fall/autumn 97...I was going to my first class which happened to be my elective art class...it was still about 15-20 minutes before school started...I remember going through the courtyard of the school which led to art classes and music rooms...it was a quiet and rather empty area for a very over crowded school..it was foggy and kind of chilly out for that morning....I remember seeing this asian kid sitting on top one of the courtyard tables..he was wearing a big coat with a magazine in his hand while eating a poptart ..he was reading this exact mag...I didnt know many people or have many friends there yet but I was into games...I asked him about the mag he was reading and he told me it was the first ps issue and let me look at it and showed me some cool stuff..I really liked RE1 at the time and we talked about it for a bit and my mind just about exploded when he showed me RE2 was on the way..we didnt have youtube then so hearing about that stuff without proof was pretty much a rumor lol...never seen him again but he was a cool dude...i dont know why i felt compelled to tell this story but seeing the mag cover sent me down a time warp to that morning lol..Crazy over 20 years later I get to see it again on here............i miss the 90s.good stuff bro
Fighting force was amazing. So was Destruction Derby 2, and 3D platformers, crash bandicoot, spyro, even croc was good. Aww. some of the things you're saying is sacrilegious. G-police was an absolutely legendary game, fantastic, especially mid to late game. Brilliant video though. I think back then I preferred the unofficial magazines because they offered a less biased opinion. Play the early tomb raiders, especially 2 ffs, it's one of the fondest memories playing that late into the weekend with my brother. .. Playstation mouse = command and conquer red alert
One of my favorite magaines. I donated every single one to a library, hope it made some people happy. All in all I should have saved them for my little ones to read.
Porsche Challenge was a gem of a game, how you could say “nobody cares” on one of the best looking and running arcade racers on the ps1 is beyond me. Give it another chance and you will see a much deeper experience can be had.
I have the dual analog in mint conditions. It's quite light and the analogues are different. Also we had PSM too, here in Italy. It had and original team behind the articles and unique contents. Part of the team later moved to Game Republic, Edge, and have now opened a permanent Museum of video games in Rome, called A.I.O.M.I. They also teach video game theory in college. I still have these PSM issues, great, great memories.
We were gaming through a vcr splitting into a tv and a commadore 64 monitor on N64 and PS1 split screen cardboard and sticky tape now we had system link on one console
1997 was the pinnacle of video games. just counting the plethora of classics that came out that year gives me a head rush. until 1998 came into the picture
Just wanted to say I really enjoy your channel and you seem like a pretty cool guy. Did you ever read GamePro? That was my main mag back in the day and it would be cool to see some episodes featuring those. Keep up the good work!
+CW871 Heym, thanks man! Yeah, I actually have a lot more issues of GamePro than I do of EGM. Just haven't had a chance to do a read-through of a GamePro issue yet. Right now, I am editing a read-through that I did of an early issue of Die Hard Game Fan, so you should keep your eyes out for that. Thanks for the positive comment; I really do appreciate it!
Destruction Derby 2 was way better than the first one. Bigger, faster, better tracks, insane jumps and flips. The first was pretty sluggish in comparison.
The "NO BUZZ" Dual Analog Controller by Sony had a very unique feature that you don't really hear much about these days. There was a "GREEN LIGHT" analog mode (along with the standard "red light" analog mode and the "no light" digital mode), and this unique mode actually emulated Sony's rare twin flight stick controller. The benefit of this feature was that you could now play the compatible games using analog control namely Descent and Descent Maximum. While these games work fine with digital control, they're awesome with the dual analog, flight-style control! Ace Combat 2 is another compatible title that is greatly improved by this unique analog game pad.
Hey, just discovered your channel and am loving your stuff! I was wondering if you might consider doing a Let's Read for Game Players Magazine (during the Editor in Chief Chris Slate days) or Ultra Game Players?
never had the first issue, started off with the second, 10 bucks a year was worth getting a subscription, i did till they went out of business and took over official Playstation magazine, then went out of business again. to bad i threw most of those magazine away, stupid me.
Sega made official memory cartridges for the Saturn. Unfortunately, they didn't make many of them, and they are a rare commodity on ebay today. I remember very early in the Saturn's life cycle not being able to find an official memory cart and being stuck buying an Interact brand one. Like so many third party memory cards, Interact's used compression, so it didn't take long before all my game saves were magically gone one day. Not that I would have trusted it anyway, but it never worked again after that. Also, I liked Wild 9. :( Keep up the great work! Love your channel.
Classic Gaming Quarterly Yeah I got one for Christmas the year the released. My parents could only afford to get me one game and no extra controller or memory card. I played the shit out of Tekken because it was the only game I owned for a while.
I'm sure you meant to say that Soul Calibur was a launch title for Sega Dreamcast no Genesis hehe. I'm about halfway through the video at the moment and I'm loving these Let's Read videos - might have to make some of my own if I can find time. The Top 25 was really great to see and not often you see awesome overlooked early games like Vandal Hearts and Suikoden getting the credit they deserve. They're the two games that got me into RPGs. Oh and Destruction Derby 2 is waaaaaaaaay better than the first one ;)
+Zach Magruder The PS1 is pretty near-and-dear to me, so I will definitely be making more. I think the next Playstation video will probably cover the rest of the games that came out in 1995, much like what I did with the recent Genesis episode. There were a ton of cool games released for the Playstation between the launch and the first Christmas. Thanks for watching!
Iol I really loved Destruction Derby 2, way more than the 1st one in fact. #10 is a great spot for that game. Also, the RE2 demo that came with Directors Cut is probably one of the most memorable and sought after demos (at the time) in gaming history. Plus RE Directors Cut did have some nice additions and changes to the original which was fun. Love the videos man you’re awesome I hope don’t stop doing these let’s reads. Been binging them while being home on lock down (Covid 19). ☕️
Gah! I remember this issue. I'm sure I wore the pages out on the Final Fantasy VII guide. I loved PSM because of the stickers that they had for the PlayStation, I had their Smiley Face logo one on mine, and also the memory card stickers.
12:20 I knew I had to get a playstation after I played Twisted Metal at a friends house. I had so much fun with that game. I trade in a bunch of n64 games and got my PS and Twisted Metal... probably around 97 or early 98. I even remember putting that Playstation magazine sticker on the cover of my PS. Did they put it in every magazine? I can't imagine I bought the first issue.
23:37 I did not buy a memory card when I got the playstation because I just didn't have the money for it. I found out why I needed it when I rented FF7. I only got part of the way through the first disc and left the console on the entire weekend. heh.
+groalerable Yup, it had internal memory for game save data, and then you could buy a cartridge that would let you copy the data out of the internal memory (which was very limited). Sony's memory card system was much better in my opinion, but that of course meant that you had to spend more money when you bought the system.
Brings back memories. I would buy a retail PSX game each month back in those days. Probably from all the consumer feedback postcards I would fill out, I received a free 6 month subscription from PSM. They just started showing up in the mail. I had been waiting 3 years for the next FF game to be released, so I remember fondly this issue and it's Chocobo breeding tips for 7, the first game I ever pre-ordered. The reads are amusing. Consider doing EGM #63, Dec. 1994. That one had a great walk through for the second half of FF3, and is also a snapshot of a very rapidly changing time in games, with info on 32x, Saturn, PSX, Sega CD, SNES, CDI, 3do and others. Looking 400 pages or so though.
You're in luck, my friend. I actually have the December 1994 issue of EGM. Will consider doing a read through of that one soon, although considering how thick it is, that one will be a big episode.

That $10 off coupon for Final Fantasy VII at Sears seemed like a good deal until I got there and found that they were selling it for $70…
What a rip! I got my copy at Software, Etc. No coupon, but I'm pretty sure that it was $49.95.
I didn't go to Sears, because I worked at Target at the time. I preordered or something FF7 and got the same shirt that was pictured in the ad. Still have the shirt, but it is way worn.
Moogle Midgar
Hey, IGN sucks ass. That's why CGQ probably doesn't follow it.
Moogle Midgar Dark Souls? I get the feeling you don't know what a platformer is.
Thanks for the info on Chris Slate of PSM's Editor in Chief. Where is the whole crew these days I wonder? This was a fun subscription magazine over the years.

I wish I could be stuck in the 90s like the movie groundhogs day!
Don't forget Tips and Tricks Magazine, it was one of the few sources for help since we didn't have Google and smartphones back then.
Thanks for this. PSM was always my favorite gaming mag growing up.
Definitely a fan of these let's read episodes. keep em coming!

I had this issue and used the huge playstation lid. I was sure there was little memory card stickers to each issue. Your let's read series is GREAT!
I still have this issue. It is in EXTREME mint condition. It still has the stickers that came with it (they were to apply to your PSX lid).
Mine is mint too. Never stretched the spine or anything. Don't have the stickers anymore though. Used them way back then :) Unfortunately for us, I don't think our copies of this issue are worth more than a few bucks, if anything.
GT6SuzukaTimeTrials That's ok about the value. I'm not ever selling mine anyways. If I ever have kids... I will pass it on to them. :-)

I had a subscription to that magazine, I had that sticker too, I used to read the whole thing, loved it.
I was a big Game Players magazine fan. Fun, funny , and great coverage of games at the time
I wish you would do more of these, great stuff!
So many memories of this magazine. Thanks for the video!
These read throughs are the best , take me back to my teenage years
The Let's Read videos are awesome btw! Very
original and interesting. Thanks for your time and effort CGQuarterley!

Amazing video, you deserve way, way, WAY more views. Props.
Lazar Milenkovic Hey, thanks man. The views will come!
I rembering reading this one
PlayStation was the first console I bought on my own too! I was in HS and working saved up for it and bought it with MK Trilogy. Good times.
The first gaming magazine I bought was GamePro Issue 98 from November 1996.
That Chris Slate blurb actually turned out to be super interesting!
Machine Hunter was such an underrated game. Have so many memories playing that with my cousins and uncle.
Zone of the Enders was actually a worthwhile game.
Can you do a PSM 2001 Issue with SSX Tricky on the front cover?
+Otaku_GameFan I'll have to see if I have it. Thanks for watching!
+Classic Gaming Quarterly You're welcome.
I forgot what most of the games was on the Top 50 and I gave that issue away a decade ago.
All in all I should have saved them for my little ones to read.
danielplaystation84 I'm sure they made their way into good hands. Thanks for watching!!
I'd always buy these magazines from my local Sav-on. The comic book art covers always caught my eye.
I remember owning this magazine especially with the code Bible in the end pages
I literally had this one. I'm old,I asked my mom too buy this.wow.like 20 years later a youtuber is gonna put it all out there.
CGQ with another great vid, love these lets read! (y)
I still own this magazine, but the PS1 lid sticker is long gone ;)
I know right?! I loved the ps lid stickers!
Really enjoyed this. Keep on doing this.
Nice used to love this magazine, started reading in 97'
pleas do more of theses videos
+sean smith I am planning on doing an issue of GameFan, probably this week. Thanks for watching, and thanks for the feedback!
Sorry! Been busy but will try to do it soon.
Porsche Challenge was a gem of a game, how you could say “nobody cares” on one of the best looking and running arcade racers on the ps1 is beyond me. Give it another chance and you will see a much deeper experience can be had.
I’ll check it out.
Classic Gaming Quarterly you won’t be disappointed 🤓👌
I have the dual analog in mint conditions. It's quite light and the analogues are different. Also we had PSM too, here in Italy. It had and original team behind the articles and unique contents. Part of the team later moved to Game Republic, Edge, and have now opened a permanent Museum of video games in Rome, called A.I.O.M.I. They also teach video game theory in college. I still have these PSM issues, great, great memories.
I'm really digging the Read Mes, can't wait for the next one!
PSM was my favorite mag back in the day. I had a subscription too.
We were gaming through a vcr splitting into a tv and a commadore 64 monitor on N64 and PS1 split screen cardboard and sticky tape now we had system link on one console
... the Flashback header ... isn't that the PS3 / Spiderman typeface?
Your collection great! Thanks for sharing it with us.
My favorite magazine growing up. Nice vid.
jchan416sf Thanks for watching!
Destruction Derby 2 was way better than the first one. Bigger, faster, better tracks, insane jumps and flips. The first was pretty sluggish in comparison.
100%
dame i had that lid sticker! I completely forgot where it came from thanks!
+TAG Media For sure!
never had the first issue, started off with the second, 10 bucks a year was worth getting a subscription, i did till they went out of business and took over official Playstation magazine, then went out of business again. to bad i threw most of those magazine away, stupid me.
Gotta love europe, almost all televisions had RGB input, couldn't stand less :)
as a kid, i used to think "why the use so many plugs on these things!!".
The age of innocence...
soul caliber was a launch title for the Genesis? think you mean Dreamcast, that and sonic adventure were the two game I got for it when it came out.
Yeah I accidentally said "Genesis" instead of "Dreamcast.
+Classic Gaming Quarterly np ;)
Sega made official memory cartridges for the Saturn. Unfortunately, they didn't make many of them, and they are a rare commodity on ebay today. I remember very early in the Saturn's life cycle not being able to find an official memory cart and being stuck buying an Interact brand one. Like so many third party memory cards, Interact's used compression, so it didn't take long before all my game saves were magically gone one day. Not that I would have trusted it anyway, but it never worked again after that.
Also, I liked Wild 9. :(
Keep up the great work! Love your channel.
I was more than happy to festoon my PlayStation with a sticker. Of course I was a sophomore in highschool when I bought that magazine.
Although, the sticker was pretty meaningless when I had to start turning my PlayStation upside down to get it to read disks.
+jeremy young Did you have a launch model? By the time I got my Playstation ('97), they no longer seemed to have the over-heating problem.
+gamesessions Hahah, did I say that about Soul Calibur? Definitely just mis-spoke.
I miss my old mags....
they're fairly cheap on ebay. i've bought every issue from 1998 and a few from 97' and haven't dropped more than 60 bucks
Chris Slate wrapped his time at PSM and took on the Future-Owned Nintendo Power as editor in chief there. Today he hosts the Nintendo Power Podcast.
awesome video....!!! Can u do a video w/ you playing ps1 demos
+rhett bell I'll keep that in mind. Thanks!!
You have some great videos, if anything I would just want more PS1 videos.
Right on, looking forward to it!
Why is the PlayStation and all its assets purple in the "Know Your PlayStation" section??
I'm guessing that it's from the lighting that they used when taking the picture, but not sure.
@3:49 That list of games. Now that's an E3!
19:07 Ha ha and there it is! I don't know why I liked it... its extremely simple.
23:37 I did not buy a memory card when I got the playstation because I just didn't have the money for it. I found out why I needed it when I rented FF7. I only got part of the way through the first disc and left the console on the entire weekend. heh.
do they still sell these and have the demos
Not in the US. Magazines are more popular in the UK, although I don't know if any of them still come with demo discs.
at sucks because I remember all of it
Chris Slate worked for imagine publishing for years. PSM also had Bill Donahue, also of Game Players fame.
Absolutely loved Warhawk. I still have my copy. Same with wipeout.
There's no cheat codes anymore because they charge you to unlock things. "Dlc"
Gex isn't the master of the tongue... I am.
Great videos by the way. I love this magazine .
Love your content! Thank you!
My brother had a saturn and I do not remember it having internal memory
+groalerable Yup, it had internal memory for game save data, and then you could buy a cartridge that would let you copy the data out of the internal memory (which was very limited). Sony's memory card system was much better in my opinion, but that of course meant that you had to spend more money when you bought the system.
My PS1 had the sticker from this issue on it until the day it died.
I really hope someone scans their old mags.. i loved PSM
I miss that magazine
