Being able to edit groups is super-useful. (And a feature that's fairly recent) You can do more than realign clips in them - you can also add extra cameras that were previously missing from the group, for instance.
Please find a way to add a value in the "tape" column such that tape = clip name, without doing it clip by clip manually. AD5. Nothing will change if you already have this group on your timeline. Avid will not refresh it like the premiere.
Unfortunately that isn't possible at present in avid. Though you could use Disk label / labroll / camroll if you are just looking for a metadata column for relinking before transcode. Though I have seen many fellow editors online requesting this feature from the folks at Avid so you never know!
Do you know any external soft that will rewrap (I mainly work witch FX9 XAVC) or quickly convert files to opAtom and modify "tape" metadata? Currently I'm doing it with Davinci Resolve manually but I am looking for a more automatic solution for ingest to avid.
@@Spoxzielo this is easily done when transcoding in resolve. Go to settings in Resolve, then under "General Options" tick "set reel name to source file name". Then it will copy the source file name to the tape name field on Transcode :)
I do appreciate your doing these UA-cam videos. I find them very interesting and helpful!
Thanks Dennis! Good to know :))
Really appreciate the tips; I knew most but there were some great nuggets.
Very welcome! Thanks for watching!
