Hi Jack, I'm considering buying a Stream Deck and have short question about multi actions: If I wanted to create a button to set the volume for an audio clip to -14 dB. A small window would pop up and I had to type in "-14". Is this possible with the stream deck software alone or do I need additional software like keyboard maestro for typing specific text?
No you can type specific text with a multi action! Just as I did on the video and drag to enter each key you need typed. Mouse clicks are more tricky to do but you can do a chain of keystrokes no problem 😉
Personally, I'm finding the strikes and slowdown is exposing the cliques and gatekeeping of jobs. Now don't get me wrong that has helped me but just shows how toxic the system is.
I mean the industry has always been a bit like that. Particularly for the higher up jobs like HODs. It's who you know and who you've worked with before. Since I moved back to the UK a few years ago it's been difficult finding work each time due to not having that network anymore. To a degree it's just the nature of the beast and I don't see it changing.
@@theavidassistant Yeah agreed to certain degree. I believe we can change, but yes it's whole culture change which is a massive task. I'm trying influence by creating network, bit like rough assembly but still having honest convos with newcomers stating it's "it's not what you know, it's who". Got to play the game I guess.
If the strike ends there will be a tidal wave of work coming down the pike.

Nobody buys a company valued at billions of dollars, to sell it at a higher price. This gives me a bad feeling.
