The Skunk2 sounds like it has a bit more in the throat. It has more of a throatier sound. Both sound good, the Skunk 2 sounds a tad beefier. I'd pick the Skunk2 overall, but the EBAY one actually sounds better at higher RPMS. I do like the look of the EBAY canister more though.

I just love the sound of a B16a whining at high R's. It begs to go faster. Outstanding chassis. I purchased a new 91Si and swapped it to a ZC in 2002, my son took it then. Got 230K on all the OE. A great car. And a year's too late comment, choose which ever one is less buzzy in the car while driving. Just so you can hear other systems as well.

It’s shocking, how good that cheap exhaust sounds. I have an EM1 with a 2.25 inch cat back exhaust and a Flowmaster flow FX muffler. It sounds a little deeper than that but I must say with that eBay exhaust you’re definitely got your moneys worth.
I used to be in tire sales in SoCal. Fun Fact: The rattlesnake fang can pierce the sidewall of a tire. It's hollow, like a needle and can create a slow air leak. The venom doesn't fade and the poor tire tec trying to find / repair the leak can get a small scratch from the fang, leading to a blood poisoning infection from the venom left on a broken fang.
I prefer the eBay exhaust sound and look. Glad you informed me about it, it sounds great on my Rex. I don't like with way the Skunk2 style exhaust looks on our cars but it does have a really good aggressive sound to it. Good choice.

Personally on a 4 cylinder. I like the sound of a large diameter piping, with 2 vibrant resonators and no muffler. You get the highest flow, plus the ultra quiet vibrant resonators really cut down the volume and give it a deep tone.
looks very high quality. its a little quiet for my taste. the best sounding exhaust I ever had was on my 92 si hatch. it had a dc header, and magnaflow high flow cat, magnaflow resonator and a magna flow can. it was loud but sounded so deep and throaty. especially for a d series motor.
Gotta be honest I think I prefer the look of the eBay exhaust but I like the sound of the skunk exhaust better i think. Super clean civic though dude! Nice work
Skunk 2 seemed quieter and had a better tone overall. Snakes can only strike out to a third of their body length, and they don't leap at all, so next time you can get a bit closer.

With every aftermarket exhaust I've put on a Honda, I use those adjustable test pipes that are supposed to be clamped and I just weld them once fitted up nice
618 DA9Keefer Now that I agree. That is the best sounding exhaust for the DA. Did you ever see the Espelir made for the DA? I had that back in 2006-2008 on my black DA. It sounded excellent!
The tip sticking out past the bumper would bother me to no end. It would be coming back off. Or have a speed shop take out 4 inches or so on the last straight section
This is what makes me wanna get a honda. No turbo. Nothing crazy expensive and its got 160 hp on a D16. I wanna get a late 90s coupe and do the d16 mini me n (b18 top end) with some other stuff. Cheap to build and quick. Classic set of rpf 1s. Skunk2 coils and lower amd upper control arms. Spectre intake ofcourse haha upgraded manifold radiator that mishimoto ebay looking one. Ebay lip and then that little en flare wing at the top of the back windshield. New coil pack and spark plugs. paint it somethimg cheap n (flat black white silver)
Skunk 2 definitely has a lower deeper note due to the resonator vs the ebay but that's the difference between a bigger company with a bigger R&D budget. One thing I wish skunk2 would give us is a double walled NEO or Burnt exhaust tip. The single wall is not a favorite of mine but is what it is. When you get a new header it will make the tone even deeper. I have full skunk2 on my Del Sol Si, Prelude Type SH, CRX Si and EP3 Si, everything sounds amazing on all of them. Cheers man

Love your channel but hate Skunk2!!! Junk2!!! K tuned the Best!! For EF hatch would have gone Yonaka!!! I had everything skunk2 made for my 99’ EM1 SI . The parts were very cheaply made and mega power exhaust pierced your ears and almost undrivable on the highway.

Like more the ebay exhaust. More sleeper and fitment looks better. Maybe because my Ef has a magnaflow that looks like your ebay muffler. But for sure both sound great!

Looove the Skunk2! Much better imo. Did you use hondata or dyno to remap the ecu for the larger exhaust size? Back pressure changes, is it needed in your opinion?
+adzthewise No, still obd0 on this car. Not sure I want to upgrade as I like having it all original electronics. The back pressure isn't an issue since it's a larger engine, the exhaust size is only helping the engine breathe.
The skunk2 sounds better than the ebay setup but I like the OEM look better. I usually build exhaust systems with magnaflow mufflers and custom piping from a seller on ebay called trubendz. really nice setups that sound really good with the magnaflow mufflers.
My 90 EF had the exact issue with my JDM B16A swapped in it. I had a DC header and ebay cat on it and My Skunk2 exhaust stuck out just like that. I ended up having an exhaust shop shorten it a couple inches.
Good video! Really like the sound of the Skunk2, had a couple Honda's with that exact same exhaust, once it breaks in, it's so nice and throaty! Keep up the great work!
If you want something like the Skunk2, but are on a budget, I recommend the Tenrai exhaust. It is the same looks, although it is a chinese brand, it pretty much sounds the same.
+xPertHDee That exhaust has the exact same canister dimensions also. My friend has one on his 91 Crx SI and it sound really good too. I don't think they are in production anymore though.
Thanks to your videos, I bought the same/very similar exhaust for my all stock dx hatch with d15. I keep the silencer installed and still use stock cat. Sounds fantastic and I didn't have to stress over it since you used the company before in previous vids. So thanks jon.
+jontakers1 nice, glad you didn't get a super loud one. I think some of the resonators and mufflers are cheaper on some of the eBay generics, or just less packing material inside those parts.
Like everyone else is saying, S2 4-2-1 header and set the system back a 1/2" and your Golden Bro! Ebay header sounds very good for the money, and the fit was ok as well, but that Skunk2 Sound and Quality was EPIC!!!!!

It will fit, but it won't sound the same as mine did. They don't make them like that anymore, all of the mufflers are missing the packing material. Yea i like the sound of that skunk 2 it's not overly loud and sounds good I can still hear the motor which is nice, i had the same issue an exhaust I had on my last hatchback where it wasnt sitting in the oem exhaust location I ended up chopping 2 inches out of it and welding the flange back on

Doing a ebay header and exhaust on my integra. Don't want to spend real money on the integra if I can avoid it. Plus anything I put on will get destroyed at some point. I am putting on a rally suspension and general grabber tires. I'm hoping I can cut the fenders a bit to give more room for the tires.

There are dozens of cuts and welds and more cuts and welds along with kinks and kinks and more kinks in what i have right now. Whoever put it in should be ashamed. Also i kid you not. The entire thing from the engine back is all welded together as one piece. Not header back. Engine back. Its all weleded. Lol. Ive never seen something so bad.

Back in the day they were dope. Not anymore unfortunately. They don't add packing material to the mufflers these days.

Skunk 2 definitely has a lower deeper note due to the resonator vs the ebay but that's the difference between a bigger company with a bigger R&D budget. One thing I wish skunk2 would give us is a double walled NEO or Burnt exhaust tip. The single wall is not a favorite of mine but is what it is. When you get a new header it will make the tone even deeper. I have full skunk2 on my Del Sol Si, Prelude Type SH, CRX Si and EP3 Si, everything sounds amazing on all of them. Cheers man

Love your channel but hate Skunk2!!! Junk2!!! K tuned the Best!! For EF hatch would have gone Yonaka!!! I had everything skunk2 made for my 99’ EM1 SI . The parts were very cheaply made and mega power exhaust pierced your ears and almost undrivable on the highway.

Like more the ebay exhaust. More sleeper and fitment looks better. Maybe because my Ef has a magnaflow that looks like your ebay muffler. But for sure both sound great!

That Skunk2 exhaust sounds a million times better. It isn't tinny like the Ebay exhaust but for the price, the Ebay exhaust was pretty okay.

+adzthewise No, still obd0 on this car. Not sure I want to upgrade as I like having it all original electronics. The back pressure isn't an issue since it's a larger engine, the exhaust size is only helping the engine breathe.
The skunk2 sounds better than the ebay setup but I like the OEM look better. I usually build exhaust systems with magnaflow mufflers and custom piping from a seller on ebay called trubendz. really nice setups that sound really good with the magnaflow mufflers.

My 90 EF had the exact issue with my JDM B16A swapped in it. I had a DC header and ebay cat on it and My Skunk2 exhaust stuck out just like that. I ended up having an exhaust shop shorten it a couple inches.
I guess the header is longer than normal probably built for the EG/EK/DC models instead.

If you want something like the Skunk2, but are on a budget, I recommend the Tenrai exhaust. It is the same looks, although it is a chinese brand, it pretty much sounds the same.
+xPertHDee That exhaust has the exact same canister dimensions also. My friend has one on his 91 Crx SI and it sound really good too. I don't think they are in production anymore though.
Thanks to your videos, I bought the same/very similar exhaust for my all stock dx hatch with d15. I keep the silencer installed and still use stock cat. Sounds fantastic and I didn't have to stress over it since you used the company before in previous vids. So thanks jon.
+jontakers1 nice, glad you didn't get a super loud one. I think some of the resonators and mufflers are cheaper on some of the eBay generics, or just less packing material inside those parts.
Like everyone else is saying, S2 4-2-1 header and set the system back a 1/2" and your Golden Bro! Ebay header sounds very good for the money, and the fit was ok as well, but that Skunk2 Sound and Quality was EPIC!!!!!

It will fit, but it won't sound the same as mine did. They don't make them like that anymore, all of the mufflers are missing the packing material. Hey Jon great video! The telescoping test pipe would definitely help with the length issue, I have one on my em1. I have a yonaka cat back on my 91 std hatch and its great. Also wondering if you've ever run this car on the quarter mile and what your times looked like.
Thanks Zach, and I cant wait to get the pipe/header! I think it'll sound even meaner at that point. I haven't ran it in a 1/4 mile but I don't think it's that quick. I'm probably faster in my 90 DX b20 because that car gets off the line quick!

Yea i like the sound of that skunk 2 it's not overly loud and sounds good I can still hear the motor which is nice, i had the same issue an exhaust I had on my last hatchback where it wasnt sitting in the oem exhaust location I ended up chopping 2 inches out of it and welding the flange back on

+rafaelcancel1 thanks Rafael! I appreciate it! I was looking at ebay and there still are a bunch of exhausts for around $100 still. Just make sure you get a 2.25" and look for the one with the nicer canister. I saw one with round ends and it doesn't look as nice as the one with the flat ends.

I have 2.5 headers. Would 3 inch skunk 2 exhaust fit ok? Also wanting to decat car. Current build: K20a2 ej coupe
The exhaust will bolt up to a test pipe. I'd get a 3" pipe, and it should fit fine onto the 2.5" collector of the header.

Doing a ebay header and exhaust on my integra. Don't want to spend real money on the integra if I can avoid it. Plus anything I put on will get destroyed at some point.
I am putting on a rally suspension and general grabber tires. I'm hoping I can cut the fenders a bit to give more room for the tires.

There are dozens of cuts and welds and more cuts and welds along with kinks and kinks and more kinks in what i have right now. Whoever put it in should be ashamed. Also i kid you not. The entire thing from the engine back is all welded together as one piece. Not header back. Engine back. Its all weleded. Lol. Ive never seen something so bad.
