  • My latest adventure takes my father and I up to Pittsburg NH to ride with Polaris Ambassador Lenn Johnson! Day 1 had us meeting up with Lenn, watching the master install his Blizzard Buster lights (link below) on our CKX Mission helmets and then hitting the trails for an afternoon/evening ride. Pittsburg didn't disappoint on Day 1, but man was Day 2 incredible as we checked out the Back Lake Shootout, Diamond Ridge, fresh groomed night trails and more! Stay tuned for Day 2 dropping soon!

    These videos are the only thing helping me stay sane while waiting for the trails to reopen in NY. I appreciate the work you put into each one.

      Thank you, that means a lot! They take quite a while to put together, this trip I wasn't as good at filming "b-roll" or background stuff but learning that first hand while trying to edit means I'll be better about it next time!

    I was up there too since Wednesday afternoon. Just got home Sunday. It wasn’t bad up in the hills but in town was pretty bad. Everyone was running hot. Rough year.

    I really enjoy your videos. Just makes me miss sledding that much more (no snow in Wisconsin, Minnesota or U.P. Michigan)! Love the sound of that Polaris Boost (it sounds so eager/aggressive, like it can't wait to get out and run!!!)

      Thanks for watching and the feedback! The Boost is definitely up there on my list of favorite sleds I've had, it's just a blast to ride! You guys are forecasted to get some snow this week right? Y'all are long overdue for some winter out there

    Commentary just fine enjoy the channel got to get out and find the snow sometimes or just not ride. I ride a lot in Pittsburg from MA terrible season 2 years in a row for everyone hopefully we have a snowy end of February into March still some time. Can't wait for a real winter where everyone can just get on there sleds and ride without having to stress and watch the weather constantly. We will get buried on of these years.

    • @MunsonMotorsports

      That's what I'm hoping for, if we can finish out with a decent end of the month into March it wont be too bad, but man it sure has been rough

    You are exactly like me... adjust the shocks and it's a difference when done correctly...i have a 22xcr 137 850. XCR....and the comp Turbo...i just found out...i can adjust the Comp in infinite settings between the 3 clicks ...and it works.... between carbides and shocks....i have fun.... thanks for the video and your help.....i see you're haven't fun with Lenn the Ambassador...😊

    • @MunsonMotorsports
      @MunsonMotorsports  5 місяців тому

      Love to hear it! We've dabbled with running the Comp/KYB 3 positions in between their main detents a bit and found when following closely the ice chunks/shrapnel will occasionally knock an adjuster to the next closest detent. Not always the case, but it's happened a few times so something to keep an eye on if you're splitting detents and riding aggressive

    I'm enjoying your channel, a good mix of tech and riding. Much better with voice while you are riding instead of just the motor sound. Keep up the good work. My son and I ride together as well, nothing better.

    Can’t judge the riding up there by the hub. That intersection you didn’t know where you were was 112 and 18 close to where umbagog meets swift diamond.

    We met a couple in Morgan at the Morgan country store last weekend from New Hampshire, and they were saying that they were disappointed with how the trails have been there in pittsburghyou know, maybe just a hit or a miss thing, I don't know, but anyway, I see you guys were dealing with it. We're headed there in march. Hopefully, there's snow.

      Right in town is/was definitely very beat up, I suspect the Back Lake Shootout drew some extra traffic, but outside of town was honestly the best stuff I've ridden this season. Over near Diamond Ridge and Stub Hill Pond was the best by far, tons of snow out there!

    I’ve never rode in Pittsburgh. How does it compare to Island pond/NEK which do you prefer? If you could only own one sled what would you choose? Thanks, great to see the local content you do a great job

    • @MunsonMotorsports
      @MunsonMotorsports  5 місяців тому +1

      Ooff those are both tough questions....I think given the current year Pittsburg is my current favorite simply due to the conditions being better (once you get to the good stuff, in town both IP and PB will be beat up). They're both a bit similar in the way they go from woods to bigger service road type trails, IP is still a little on the tighter side when compared to PB. Vermont trail signage is very hard to beat so that's definitely worth something right there. If you ride IP/NEK and enjoy it, PB is definitely somewhere you need to go check out and experience!
      I'm very torn on the one sled choice as I've come to realize that as picky as I am, one sled doesn't really do it all....however, my 650 build/setup is damn hard to beat right now. I think if that were an N/A 850 it would be really really good, but then I remember how fun the Boost is and how much I enjoy the sounds it makes with the muffler mod and think a Boost engine package in my 650 build/spec would be ideal to do everything with one machine. If there's no turbo 4S offering from Polaris this year I'll probably look for a holdover Boost to build a clone to my 650 but with the Boost power....I may dabble with a 137" and some further custom stuff out back because of the way my brain is

      Awesome response, a lot of good info there, thank you! You’ve said your not brand bias, neither am I, but you seem to gravitate towards the Polaris sleds. Is that because of the chassis/ riding position mainly? The Doos fit and finish and etec’s are so good it’s hard to choose. I do prefer can am on the dirt side of things, I’ve owned both brands atvs. I’ve wanted to try an assault for a long time but part of me feels I’ll miss the quality of brp.

      @@Sdm07120 So I started out on Arctic cat's, then went to Skidoo's for a while, Polaris in 2019/20, back to Doo, and now back to Polaris. I feel the Polaris currently suits me the best all around, it's simplistic and easy to work on/maintain, has a raw fun factor, the seating position is far better than the Doo for active riding. The 7S is very hard to beat as well. For me personally, I do not like the route Doo has gone with R-motion X and other changes to make the sleds do what they should...I feel there are much better ways to fix the G4 negatives while still retaining the fun factors. That said I do understand why they went the route they did, but there's no denying it removed a good bit of the fun factor and raw excitement from the machines. The sleds to me feel a bit dull and emotionless now, they do everything they should in the easiest way possible that there's a lack of excitement. If you want something to buy and just go ride without having to do any tinkering and have it just work for 95% of conditions for 80% of riders, that new Renegade 900R is hard to beat...but it sure wont put a smile on my face like the Polaris sleds do. I feel it largely depends on your riding style and what types of rides you're looking to do.

  • @kwmiked
    @kwmiked 5 місяців тому

    This is exactly what is suspected hearing comments from someone else that rode all the sleds. Walker Evans suck, it doesn't matter who trys to put they're combo in them. Its just how they are built. I went thru this, and got feedback from 4 other guys i rode with just so i wasn't thinking it was best it could be. The problem is that the average person spending 16k+ on a sled isn't gonna send shocks back multiple times and pay the shipping and time . They aren't worth it. Polaris needs to get rid of these junk shocks and springs on premium sleds or they are going to start going backwards again now that Cat is coming out with better stuff and im sure Doo is waiting in the brush to release something to dial in gen 5 better.
