Your character sure sure speaks volumes the way you gave your dad a hug and asked if he was ok, that stuff happens so fast to the best of us .Glad no one was hurt . BTW i really enjoy how you always explain in detail when you are working on sleds in your garage.
Thank you! We've been riding together for a very long time, when the tables were turned and I was younger I learned how to handle these types of situations, I have him to thank for that.
Two guys in our collective group have them and love them! I went away from the moto style with the Mission but may look into a Titan for the warmer spring days!
Appears that your dad's right ski left the trail and then the snowmobile just got sucked off into the ditch...? No different than going down the tar road and getting sucked in by the soft shoulder. It happens to the best of people! It's a great learning video for my young riders!! No pun intended.
That's 100% what happened, just before where the ski dipped was a bit of a "pull off" if you will, so it looked like the trail was wider than it was. Combine that with some snow dust and it was an easy mistake. Once the track broke over the groomed base there was no pulling it back from the ditch/ravine. That's the way she goes sometimes!
Love it, last weekend we took my brother out (beginner rider) may have ended up off trail a couple times, all we could do was help him get out and keep moving! Shit happens and honestly we’ve all done it and that’s how you learn. True class act
100% Agree with the way you handled the situation. Opinions from keyboard warriors very rarely add value and most of time are completly. toxic. The most important part of the story is your Dad is OK.
Glad everyone is ok. Have you applied the latest update to the gauge (March 2023). It fixed all the freezing issues I've had before. I've had no issues at all with the latest update
That's good to know! I believe Groton/Danville area made out pretty well and trails are still in decent shape from what I'm seeing online, hopefully I can get back over there and ride locally between our planned trips coming up.
Glad your dad is ok - all that matters… on the gauge freeze - curious what version software you had, did you have the March 2023 update installed when it did that?
Mmmm I'm honestly not sure when I updated the 7S on the Assault last, or if I ever have at all haha. That was the first and only time it's ever done that. If I remember tomorrow I'll check to see which version software it has.
I think your hitting the bar when it comes up, being uncoupled shouldn't matter when front is dialed in. Else the Pro S or pro x would always do it also. I think u have to much travel and Aarm is getting under level and thats when ski grabs and comes up. If u can stop it from sagging in that far with spring that that will solve it..hard to solve it changing compression when the spring isn't right
On the KYB's they're a 105lb start rate to a 150lb main, 3/8" preload. Pro-S/X are a bit different altogether, uncoupled yes, but the way they react when on throttle (when the rear spring preload is set properly) is different than the Assault/IGX. Even with proper torsion spring the Assault/IGX geometry is way more likely to unload the front end. They're inside ski lift becomes worse when they are oversprung, because it causes them to sit high in the rear and throw the roll axis out of wack. The KYB's even when shorted were/are 18" long which is 3/4" longer than the stock W/E shock so even with their moderate set-in the a-arms are still barely negative even under full compression. The main issue was hitting the crossover and thus hitting the 150lb spring before the bar could begin to counteract the jacking forces, which was amplified and made drastically worse when the inside ski would encounter a bump. It was quite similar to a pro-x with a straight 150lb spring where the vertical/jacking cornering forces were just not enough to compress the spring and allow the shock to do much motion control. I did try to add a lot more preload just for haha's but that made the situation worse as it took up even more of the initial rate travel and caused the sled to hit the 150lb main even sooner. Trimming 3/8" off the crossover shim fixed all the above issues, but then I was left with about 3" of compression stroke (body to tip of extended bump stop) from static ride which was not enough for any large moguls at speed. The KYB at 18.5" length without the .5" slug (that was added to shorten them for the CC spindle) worked incredibly well with the stock spindle, however for a taller spindle the shock body is just too long for the application unfortunately. They're a great shock but they're going down the road to someone else now.
Watch your videos over, when off the throttle going into turns it goes up, prev videos, when on throttle going thru turns it looks better, not grabbing, and u even mention it. So I tend to think it's opposite of that whole story u wrote. I think your issue is bottom 150 spring is to much and top spring is not enough.
Once Aarms go under level, "light or off throttle " it doesn't matter what rear suspension you have. Its going to inside ski lift. When u power thru turn on throttle and it doesn't do it, 🤷♂️ idk I kinda tells what's wrong right there
These sleds should have Grippers on from the factory Stock skis get sucked in..... Ready to change out the Comp Turbo Skinny skis are only for professional....and it's still hard to pull back out of the edge.......
I loved how you gave him a hug first! It can be fixed and even if it couldn’t who cares. He’s good and that’s all that matters!
Your character sure sure speaks volumes the way you gave your dad a hug and asked if he was ok, that stuff happens so fast to the best of us .Glad no one was hurt . BTW i really enjoy how you always explain in detail when you are working on sleds in your garage.
Thank you! I'm trying to keep things informative/helpful while still being entertaining, not always possible but I'm trying haha
love how you handled your dad class act i wish i had my dad still to ride with beautiful stuff
Thank you! We've been riding together for a very long time, when the tables were turned and I was younger I learned how to handle these types of situations, I have him to thank for that.
Glad your pops is ok! You handled that with class and compassion…I’m sure he felt terrible, but you made the best of a bad situation…well done!!
It's all apart of the sport, things are gonna happen, just gotta roll with them and try to make the best of it when you can!
“Do you dare me to hit a jump?!”…”NO!” 🤣🤣 Glad L-Bird is okay!
You should try out the CKX Titan 👍👍
Two guys in our collective group have them and love them! I went away from the moto style with the Mission but may look into a Titan for the warmer spring days!
I’ve replaced two bulkheads on these Polaris sleds not the most exciting job , gotta remove lots of stuff to to get at the bulkhead
I've done a couple as well! The panel bonding makes them a little interesting to separate sometimes too, some heat certainly helps there
@@MunsonMotorsports the issue I faced was getting the clutch off first than the bonding

Glad your dad is ok. Everything thing can be repaired or replaced. Like you say it can happen to all of us. ☃️👍👍
Love it, last weekend we took my brother out (beginner rider) may have ended up off trail a couple times, all we could do was help him get out and keep moving! Shit happens and honestly we’ve all done it and that’s how you learn. True class act
Exactly, we've all been there regardless of how it happened. Like you said, learn from it and keep moving forward 👍
100% Agree with the way you handled the situation. Opinions from keyboard warriors very rarely add value and most of time are completly. toxic. The most important part of the story is your Dad is OK.

I haven't done any updates, that's the first I've ever had an issue with it so if it's just that one fluke, I'll probably just keep running it haha
@@MunsonMotorsports it's an easy update. Well worth it.
Stay off the edge. He knew he got off the groomed section. Thats seldom good. It’s just a sled.
Hope all is good and you get back on the sled soon. Yall are in my area. I'm from wheelock and we have almost 2ft of snow in areas.
That's good to know! I believe Groton/Danville area made out pretty well and trails are still in decent shape from what I'm seeing online, hopefully I can get back over there and ride locally between our planned trips coming up.
I'm glad your dad is okay. Like you said, accidents happen. Machines can be fixed or replaced.
Lol you gave L-Bird the dad treatment when you found him crashed. Full circle. He was channeling his drag racing days and sent her into the woods lol
You know how Lbird do! Sometimes the bird takes flight, sometimes it gets grounded
Glad dad is ok .....you are the best son..........pipe bends easy 😮
your videos are the best.I've been riding since 1976 TNT.Now I have a 22 XCR 850.Shit happens.
That's the truth! You never know what's gonna happen out there!
GlD he’s fine. It’s nothing 2 or 3 grand won’t fix!
It wasn't toooo bad, it would have been cheap if it hadn't gotten the pipe too 😵
Great reaction to a shitty situation. Glad everyone was ok.
Just glad your Dad is ok. It’s just parts.
100% agreed!
