6 MONTHS TIMELAPSE. Transforming an abandoned homestead into a gem. Wine cellar, heated floor.

- Welcome!! Here's the new and most interesting episode about renovating the homestead. In the previous episode, we installed the sewage system and a panoramic window, and today we will talk about building a wine cellar, installing a spiral staircase, insulating the floor, pouring a dry screed, working with rebar, and much more interesting stuff! Enjoy watching!
At the moment we have very little left to finish it. But the project is currently frozen because we are stuck with expensive items such as custom suspension, wheels and car registration. Please support our project!
We will appreciate every dollar.

The narrator is back 👏👏👏👏
Thanks for watching. All missing him😅
I do wonder about the wooden form left on the outside the concrete wine celler. It might rot over time and create a cavity that could make the plastic liner fall away from the concrete wall leading to possible dampness later on.
Then again, the sandy soil might protect that from happening. 🤷
But all in all, good job.👍
It's easily binge 3 hours of this right here. Great content!
Thank you so much for the kind words! Do you like the idea with cellar?

Hi, be carfull with up travelling moisture. Because of the concrete slap you mostlikely have higher molsture on its edges to the natural stone foundation and the wooden walls. I am from germany and many of our old timberframed houses have problems with somewhat wet cellars after they removed the old clay floor that could "breath" and build in concrete floors. Nice video tho. Maybe with the diffrent climate you wont have that problem as we do her.
Thanks for watching and your concern!
Good job
Should build a perimeter concrete slab, to help a gutter and barrier from ground water. It would help keep the cabin dry, for underneith it.
Thanks for watching and your reply.
window will be crushed in winter or in spring. As house is wooden he gets moisture he grows in winter he dries so he shrinks. Thats why you need a gap on top of the window. Window sides need boxes that house could move freely from windows. and what you did, mid section removed, you need long screws (gluhary) 3 beams screw together. It will make a structure. Don't do things on wooden house that you can do on block house they are different families and work different builds different.
Had the same thought
Thanks for watching and your reply. Everything will be ok. We hope so. Anyway we'll see)
The wood looks old and seasoned with some gapping between the beams, and the foam in the gaps would probably take any excess expansion and contraction more than likely.
if you really think about it, everyone considers North America as "the West" but if you travel East far enough eventually NA becomes the East and you're now "the West" . had to say this... but great build and amazing that all that hard work definitely paid off
Thanks for watching! Do you like this project?
This is awesome!! I love the idea of the wine cellar! I think the cabin will turn out realy great in the end! Do You hawe any plans for the old barn site? if some of the exterior could possibly be reconstructed it would look great as a garage or something else one need.
Thank you so much for your support! We are thinking about it. Thanks for nice idea.
Have been wanting to see one of these circular wine cellars built for a while now and it's coming along great! Haha is there anything you guys don't know how to do!? Awesome work as always!
Happy to be useful! Thanks for watching!
Brilliant work, lads! I'm totally down with that way of life, nice little cabin away from all the hassles.❤

I understand the need for a panoramic window in your “cabin” but let’s be honest this camp is no luxury getaway for summer vacation. You are putting in a hidden wine cellar and hidden tunnel to an underground bunker. This no vacation home, this is bug-out off grid hideaway survival shelter. So in the sense of security (me being from 20 years in military) a big panoramic window is a huge risk, makes for easy surveillance of what is going on in your place, also makes for easy sniper targeting of individuals inside the cabin. 3 smaller windows would bring in light while still providing more protection. If visibility is limited, there are camera systems to correct that.
Thanks for watching. It's mostly for relax and vacation. We just trying to create something new and unusual

Timestamp 3.34 to 3.36...as a beekeeper who has removed colonies from houses to save them, I can tell you that was definitely a beehive colony..🐝🌼💚....the mice and wax moths will have devoured any remains when they abandoned it....quite some time ago by the looks of it....its pretty much what it looks like when I've had to remove the comb in order to find the bees a new home with all the resources they had...great job!🎉..liked and subbed...look forward to checking in on you! 😊👍...you may want to consider having your own beehive on your homestead too!...👍💚🐝🙏🐝🐝🎉shameless plug for beekeeping I know!🙄😂its a worthwhile hobby & I'd encourage every homesteader to give it a go as it improves pollination & crop yields 6 fold 🎉🌿🫐💚🍅🫒🥕😋...and a wee honey crop now and again is a bonus...the zest hive is a great one that requires little work...perfect for weekends 😊😉 happy homesteading...love the job on the restoration🎉...beautiful🎉...wouldn't mind moving in myself!😂😘.
