Hello Tony Thanks for the update. The displacement is linear. If you extend the length by 10% you will get 10% more displacement. Have you seen my comment about upgrading the Firmware on your ”Genmitsu 4040 Pro MPG Controller” video? I have now bought the MPG Controller myself and recieved 2days ago. Totally worth the upgrade. Keep safe. /H
Hi thanks for the info I did not realise there was an update in the firmware I will have to look at this, what are the new features with the update have you noticed this is how we all learn Thanks
@@Tonys.Top.Tips.Workshop I described the update quite well in the comment in your other video. Basicly it will give you an GoTo X0Y0 option on the offline controller.
I noticed that your Z-axis is mounted to the X-axis using the upper set of bolts holes/lower position. Is that your recommended mounting position? I'm finally installing the Makita router and could use some advice. Thanks in advance.
Hi thanks for your question, when I am just using the bed and not the 4th axis use the position it is set in on the video. when using the fourth axis I lift z axis up that is to give the clearance. I don't use a router body so the preference is yours.
Hi thanks for your question You can only purchase the upgraded z axis frame from Sainsmart. I was one of the first that purchased this machine and I found faults due to this they then rectified those faults. I did have an issue with my z axis not flexing as reported but one of the bushes kept working out of its housing, so they sent me a replacement free of charge. I do know the upgraded one is considerably stronger this is better for a larger spindle to be used I think they are around £55
@@Tonys.Top.Tips.Workshop TY. I looked all over their site and couldn't find it so was starting to think it was 3rd party. We'll see, I've barely used mine (yet). Installed a 800W spindle, made spoil board... all went fine, trammed perfectly, but need to get to designing things to make :D
@@jb510 hi my advice would be simple designs and go slowly, understand the principles of cnc machining. It sounds like you have a good spindle that's a great start. If you have just purchased yours it should be the upgraded one . Good luck keep me informed of your progress
@@Tonys.Top.Tips.Workshop well I purchased it black friday, just took a couple months to get setup (due to space, snow, other projects). I thought it was the older one, but looking again it is the newer one (elongated bearing area), yay!

Hi Tony ... is there a firmware update for the main board on the CNC? @@Tonys.Top.Tips.Workshop
Hi according to the web site I think there is but I don't always update if I don't have any problems.
Thanks Tony @@Tonys.Top.Tips.Workshop
