    Thank you both🌼 Your stories are inspiring. Emma's mention of syllable stress is persuasive, it makes English more melodic. I always try to speak English like "singing" Jesús' story about vocal energy is interesting. Many Japanese learners feel more familiar with the British accent because it sounds higher-pitched similar to Japanese pitch than American low pitch accent. Also, old RP was pronounced with clear consonants. However, once they encounter common modern British sounds, they often get stuck easily, and they consider converting to American accent followers😅🌼

      Hi Hideaki! You're welcome. The vocal energy thing is interesting. The more I think about it, the more I can see what Jesús is saying. A good point about modern RP. It has definitely evolved! Webster, responsible for the North American English dictionary, made it his mission to simplify English pronunciation. He wanted it to be more phonetic, and I think he did succeed to some extent 😁🌻
