    Was sitting here debating on whether to hit the stream today when I noticed the new video. Man, it was great seeing you two guys together making this video and awesome it is in every way. Needless to say there is no debating now, thanks for the motivation as usual. Got enough Rainbow Y2ks to choke a hog and you can bet there are just as many double troubles in the box. Thanks again Ben and Mike for your contribution of a fine video.

    I'm in SW Colorado. Fish the Animas, San Juan, Rio Grande and a bunch of others a lot. Had many times where the only stuff catching fish had rubber legs. Didn't matter much what it was, as long as it has rubber legs.

    Love it. Been trying to work on tying some lively legz on myself. This crowd is amazing an when you order something it’s nothing but great people sending you quality. Would like to go fishing in some of the streams you guys do with some friends. 👍

    Firstly excellent work gentlemen, great video and loved the analysis and explanation of things as usual. I do want to ask you a question about the rig, specifically the flies/tippet area. How much tippet do you generally use? It would appear anywhere from 4-6 feet, does that sound about right? Do you tie off the bend of the first hook, to add your second fly? Finally, and most importantly, I knot it may very based on speed of water and depth, but do you use TWO split shot. One above the first fly, and another above the second? Would greatly appreciate your feedback. Interested to learn a little from you here. Thanks guys and tight lines in 2020. Likely an order coming from me early in the year :)

    • @livelylegz4754
      @livelylegz4754 5 років тому +1

      Tight Lining MD great questions. Generally 3.5-4’ of tippet to first fly then 12-14” between. When the water is ripping like it was I use a small shot in between and one 6” or so above top fly. I also do not tie off bend due to being barbless hooks. I run both knots through the eye of top fly. Occasionally I’ll do a 5-6” tag but I get so many nasty tangles that way but it certainly is more effective and natural to run a “tag”

      @@livelylegz4754 Next time I hit the stream I will employ some of those tips. Hopefully it means more fish and better quality videos. Thanks so much for all you guys do for the sport! Are you participate in Kettle Creek PHW? I think you did last year, if so I should see you all up there. Planning to join in and give back. Tight lines guys!

      @@livelylegz4754 That's awesome. I spoke with Jim of PHW, who Doug from Backyard Angling suggested I touch base with. He was able to respond and give me some general info. Hopefully in the spring I can get the logistics figured out of exactly what I will be doing and how the weekend goes event wise. However, I am super excited to be able to work along side people like you and more importantly give back to such an important staple of our country. See you soon!

    Mike is not using an indicator? What is his basic rig? I tried to find blow torch on your site, no luck.

    • @living4theoutdoors

      John Kinsfather he is using our small stream indicator leaders and the blow torch is under natural torch and olive torch in the fast water series. Thanks for checking out the videos and all the best to you.

    I have been pounding fish on a rainbow perdigon and a eggstacy single egg. I haven’t found a reason to switch since I’m picking 20 fish every tine I’m out for 2-3 hours. I wouldn’t mind fishing against iron mike. See who catches more.

    • @living4theoutdoors
      @living4theoutdoors  5 років тому +2

      Good for you Corey and we would rather not make it a competition. We just enjoy spending time on the stream and sharing it. Best of luck to you.

    • @coreystoner4129
      @coreystoner4129 5 років тому

      That’s always good. Like we just have a friendly competition when I’m out with friends and we show each other stuff and help each other. Most of the time if I catch one fish I’m happy then I start helping others to catch fish. Most of the time we hop scotch each other and have fun. There are times where people fall in the water but it’s always a good time
