Filmed on the evening of Monday, October 26th, 1953. Standing next to Mandy Miller and about to be presented to the Queen is eight years old Jon Whiteley (wearing a kilt), who had just finished filming "The Kidnappers" for J. Arthur Rank, his performance in which would win him an Academy Award. Note that because Pathe News was an ABC circuit newsreel and the Odeon, Leicester Square was a Rank circuit cinema, the commentator doesn't mention the name of the cinema, nor the film, "Rob Roy", which would be a Rank circuit release. Doing so would be free publicity for the rival Rank circuit.
I used to pick up Pathe News from the railway station. Rush it to the Cinema for showing. Someone needs to catalogue how many people the Queen has met. What an autograph book.
Thanks. In fact we shared Pathe News between a number of Cinemas. We showed it at different times. I'm not sure if Pathe News we aware of this. Although not a Royalist I think the Queen has done an incredible job. It must be unnerving to meet real Stars like Gary Cooper who was taller than Prince Philip. Of course we all know the biggest Stars are the most modest. The third rate modern celebrities are often arrogant and self absorbed. No names sorry. They know who they are.
Calm down. everyone, even a commoner in America, non-english, knows that usually the royals are go ahead, the spouses walk behind. Racism is evident in your response. It's real. She never said that protocol itself, was inherently racist. She never said she was against following it. It's tradition. You are deliberately misunderstanding ,or ignorant, or both. 🥴
@@perdm91 unlike this culture, I'm not a "fan" of public human beings! I scarcely know of her ,I have never seen the show she was in, I could car less about the wedding, but facts are facts. you try to mitigate racism. she was NOT talkin about protocol, and you know it, so stop being obtuse.
Queen is so beautiful !☆
The 1950s were the best years for women fashion.
What an elegance !
Now models are monsters and designers are demons.
Everything is so vibrant, people the place and the city.
The Queen was so glam such an inspiration. I love her...such grace and poise. We should value her radiant beauty more ❤

I so miss the Queen 😢
What a great moment for the Queen as well to meet true personalities and great characters of the movie world. Those were the days....
Gary Cooper. What a charm even over 50...
I love his wink (0:20)
She was so classy
Prince Philip always chilling in the Background
Princess Margaret got me dying🔥🔥
Queen and philip were the most attractive stars
Do you have films of Eddie Fisher and the Beatles singing to her?
What is wrong on 0:00?
Noticed how Phillip goes AFTER princess Margaret? Someone should show this to Megan. It is called protocol, not racism 🙄
Victim Card is very powerful in this woke society 😂
