A galaxy of glittering stars from the world of music, theatre, film and television gather together for a special celebration to honour Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth in a musical montage of the shows around in the early 1900s.
A glittering evening's entertainment in the gracious presence of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, Her Majesty the Queen, His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh and Her Royal Highness the Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon.
The international stars celebrating the 90th birthday of the Queen Mother in this charity performance are: Peggy Ashcroft, Rowan Atkinson, Richard Attenborough, Lionel Blair, Sarah Brightman, Isobel Buchanan, Darcey Bussell, Simon Cadell, Michael Caine, Christopher Cazenove, Leslie Crowther, Mark Curry, Arthur Davies, Michael Denison, Placido Domingo, Stephen Fry, James Galway, Jill Gascoine, John Gielgud, Dulcie Gray, Robert Hardy, Marilyn Hill Smith, Jeffrey Holland, Anita Harris, Patricia Hodge, Kiri Te Kanawa, Howard Keel, Bonnie Langford, Vera Lynn, Lisa Maxwell, Geraldine McEwan, Robert Meadmore, Hayley Mills, John Mills, Warren Mitchell, Roger Moore, Jonathon Morris, Irek Mukhamedov, Elaine Paige, Angharad Rees, Anneka Rice, Cliff Richard, Eric Roberts, Wayne Sleep, Willard White, Bernie Winters, Jenny Wren.
Also the cast of Anything Goes (from the Prince Edward Theatre), members of the cast of Song and Dance (from the Shaftesbury Theatre), the Royal Gala Dancers and the Stephen Hill Singers.
Harry Rabinowitz was in charge of the music and associate producer Norman Maen is also the stage director for the gala.

So much better than the modern Royal variety shows which seem to consist of 'Celebrity's' & pop groups who I have never heard of.

Can remember watching this spectacular evening, can't believe it's nearly 30 years ago, but a fitting celebration for a fabulous Lady who oozed class and sophistication.
I'm coming to this late... it is now around 33 years later and both Her Majesty the Queen and the Queen Mother are deceased, but long remembered. Our new King Charles has enormous boots to fill, so to speak. The dignity and grace of the two and indeed the Princesses should be a lesson to us all.
Aww I love the queen mother. I hope the queen passes her moms age. EDIT. Dam I really wanted her to pass her mothers age. I guess it wasn’t meant to happen. Rest in paradise to both queens ❤❤

What a special night for all!
I love how the royal party was walking out of the box when the national anthem started up again at the end, the Queen Mother whipped around, and Prince Philip shuffled back in. It was like "Right! One more time everyone! Stand and look serene!"

This One The London Palladium First Opened On December 26th 1910 During The Edwardian Times By The Beginning Of The 20th Century. Thanks Mate. X

I agree! I still remember the birthday "tribute" to Queen Elizabeth; I have forgotten the year, but it had Daniel Craig, as James Bond, show up to escort the Queen and then she apparently parachuted into the stadium where the event took place. What followed was the biggest disaster since Rob Lowe danced with Snow White at the Academy Awards. I may be an old fogey, but I have not gone senile, yet, an current standards of entertainment have not slipped - they have plummeted. Now a days, fist fights at awards ceremonies are common - the Vandals and Visigoths will be at the gates any day now!
