Thanks for using the knife, instead of just talking about it.

I've been carrying the Farmer forever now. I want to try new Inox knives but just keep going back to the Farmer. I strongly recommend it. I've carried Leatherman, SOG and a ton of other Inox knives but the Farmer is always what I return to every time. Food for thought. Have a good one. Great review, dude.

Thanks man! I actually looked into the Farmer, but what I could tell it only came in Alox scales, which is a cool look, but I find myself using the tweezers a lot (tick removal among other things). Have you looked at the Huntsman or Fieldmaster? They are the same except the Fieldmaster has a Philips head screwdriver rather than a corkscrew. The Huntsman was my go to model (my son lost it on our last camping trip) The thinner Walker does make EDC a lot easier, though. I'll definitely look into the Farmer (I love the models that have a saw). You can't beat Victorinox for a companion folder compliment to a fixed blade camping knife and as an EDC pocket knife. Thanks for the comment!!!

I have had the Fieldmaster. I just can't stand the awl opening on the back. I also find the thicker tools on the Farmer more worthwhile to me. I do keep a Leatherman Rebar in my small Columbia bag I take everywhere with me. So, if ever I needed more tools, they're all on that tool. The Farmer has all the tools I need on my person though. I wish you well in your endeavors to find the perfect EDC.

Hands down the farmer is my favorite as well. The awl works better. I think the blade is slighty thicker as well

If you want to go even smaller, I can heartily recommend the single layer Bantam. This has the same combi tool as the Walker, but, being only one layer, it operates along the centre line of the tool. This enables the lucky owner to exert more pressure to better effect, with the slim knife body providing just the perfect size to grasp, and no more. In my opinion (never humble, and seldom appreciated) the Bantam has the best can opener of any multitool bar none, it is so good I stopped using my electric can opener as soon as I tried it. It makes opening cans a simple pleasure. It is even cheaper than the Walker as well.

And it's available in alox, traditional red plastic scales or grippy black nylon scales. The alox is the only one without tweezers and toothpick. I have one with black nylon scales I bought on ebay and it's my knife for a night in town or formal events.

No good for me though. I'd want a saw as well.
I can live without the awl, corkscrew, etc. But saws are too handy on the trail to not carry one.
ThecWalker is about as basic as I can go I reckon.

I like the Walker for EDC but have just ordered the FarmerX so I will have to see which one I choose for EDC, I bought the Walker for the saw but the scissors on the FarmerX will sure come in handy.

I think it's discontinued so I'm happy I bought two of them when still available.

Самое смешное то что такой пилой можно раскроить лист фанеры 120×240 мм не помню там 3 фута на 8 футов

If it had an awl it might replace my hiker or trekker. I can think of too many quick fixes for gear or emergency situations such as adding a hole to a belt for impromptu tourniquet where an awl is a must have.

Have you looked at the Farmer? It's the alox (aluminium) scales, so no backtools and just one main blade but it's thicker, a tad longer and a bit deeper. Saw is the same as on your Hiker. But the awl - or actually it's a reamer because it doesn't have a hole - is inline, i.e. sticks out the end and it's a beast, it will drill through 1in thick wood no problem and leave a good clean hole.
