Victorinox and Casio are companies that both have a place in my heart for offering "a thing that is perfect just for you, whoever you are"
100%
Walker is not discontinued, at least not in 🇺🇸. Victorinox still has it on their 🇺🇸 website, but sparsely available. It’s out of stock most of the time. I bought mine during thanksgiving from the Victorinox website, post subscribing to an email alert for this product.
Thanks for the info!
there was an Alox version also that was basically a Bantam with a added saw called the Lumberjack
👀
There are a number of discontinued models I really wish Victorinox would bring back including the 74 mm models, Evo grips, some select ranger grips and 111 mm models, and the champion plus (all of which I am lucky to have picked up). But the really elusive one, the grail so to speak for me, is the Alumnus. Essentially a Sportsman with scissors. Such a great package, for the life of me I can't understand why it is no longer produced.
There haven't been any 84mm models with scissors produced for some years, according to what I heard/read it's because the machine for making that size scissors broke and hasn't been replaced. According to SAKwiki there haven't been any 84mm models with scissors made since 2008.
But it's a real shame I agree and I reckon if they did repair or replace that machine / tooling, they'd make their money back as a lot of us would jump at 84mm models with scissors like Climber small, Super Tinker small, and especially the alox models like Cadet and Bantam with an added scissors layer.
@@simonh6371 I think that the story with the broken machine is just a story, not the reality. I don't think that ever was "a machine that made 84 mm scissors", and even there was such a machine, they would have repaired it if they wanted to continue producing these models. I believe it was just a process of simplifying their product palette, just like they do every now and then.
But yes, soooo many people want 84 mm models with scissors... They really should consider bringing them back.
There used to be a page on their website where you can submit product ideas.maybe it still exists. Many of us have already submitted the "idea" to bring back 84 mm scissors. Maybe they'll listen one day.
I've no idea either it's such a shame
I bought 1 to see if it would be a good minimalist tool to put in a SMALL survival/EDC kit. It has the 2 most important tools in my opinion for the most basic survival knife, a BLADE and a SAW. Lol, should have gotten the 4 I wanted when I got the one, paid I believe $17 or $18 at the time! Lol, "Those who hesitate are lost". Great review as always... Thanks! Just checked the price I paid in 11/2019 was $17.99!! really wish now i got the 4 I wanted.
Thanks for watching
I take one of these when I go for a walk in the trails. Used the saw many times to take out small branches that can be a hazard. There are still a few new ones left on eBay for those collectors out there.
Awesome
The snap/click was so satisfying to hear. Victorinox is THE gold standard.
100%
Fantastic model…
I’ve got a older version without the scale tools (economy version?). Picked it up for eBay, back when you could still buy knives from there in the UK.
Mine has got damaged scales, managed to drop it 🙄. Must get round to picking up some new ones that’ll take the tools!
Fantastic review…
Thanks brother 😎👊🏻
Aye, economy for sure 🤘🏻
I think that the reason why victorinox discontinued a lot of their knives is because of the decline in sales as especially in the UK less places sell them than they did 40 years ago so they are a bit harder to find than they used to be and when you do find a seller the price's can be all over the shop they may sell at around the recommend price or be very heavily marked up in price for example a little time ago I came across an online retailer trying to sell a black Spartan for £120.00 and the normal price is around £25.00 to £30.00 that Is one place I will never buy a Swiss army knife from some retailers must think people are stupid but they just go somewhere else and most probably buy another make of pocket knife instead
Thanks for watching
That's a sweet little design. I'm really going to enjoy that one. The saw is a great tool. Thanks for picking that up for me, Slippy. 🪚
You're more than welcome John! I'll get it off to you soon!
I’ve officially joined the club, I’ve had wengers but I’ve just picked up my first Victorinox 🇨🇭. I had to see what you guys are all crazy about.👍🏼👍🏼
Welcome aboard!
A lovely little SAK that. Pity they don't make it anymore. I wonder why they're slowly getting rid of their intermediate size knives ?
I've no idea, hopefully for something new
I've never heard of this one. Very cool pattern and excellent video Matt!
Glad you enjoyed it
Victorinox is a great knife to collect. They offer many interesting designs, available at a lot of vendors, and backed by a warranty.
100% agree
Have several “Walker’s”! Great little Victorinox!
You got that right!
So 85mm instead of the more standard 84mm? I’ve never seen this model before, very nice. 👍
God dammit 😂 it's 84mm I was carrying a Wenger today and they're 85mm ☠️

Hi, great videos.
I've recently bought 2 Victorinox knifes off Amazon. ( 1 Classic SD, 1 Huntsman ) Both have come on a blister package on card whereas yours come in a silver box. Can I ask what's the difference? and could mine be fake even?
Thanks, Phil.
Hey Phil, literally no difference at all, they come in a box and a blister pack, 100% genuine 🤘🏻
@@SlipjointSawyer Thanks for the reply, have a sub 😉
I'm currently looking for another on Amazon, might be getting addicted 😄
I love the alox version of this.
Me too
I sometimes wonder why they discontinue some of these styles
I've no idea 😭
Those are great! Great tool set on that one!!
They are!
Have you seen to Moomins collection - cool af - love the vids dude 👍
I'll check it out
It's basically the two-layer My First Victorinox with a pointed blade.
Some adults might even find the children's version preferable for EDC, if they're worried about even a Victorinox blade appearing a little threatening.
100%
hey i need one of those for my collection too
Get one while you can 👀
I will never buy a multi-blade SAK.
Nope.
You will not influence me.
I didn’t buy a ViperAde pouch because of Jake either.
Nope.
Not listening to either of you.
La la la la la… I don’t hear you.
🤣
Buy it
