I think people think that blizzard is just incompetent and these changes were a mistake they want to cover up. From what ive heard, druids can use polearms and will have druid options for polearms in SOD. That change was intentional, otherwise we'd have rogues with axes too. The wbuff dispelling is a QOL for players that some have been crying out for since before tbc classic. Which is one reason why we got the chronoboon in the first place. And the rend buff makes having all world buffs more accessible. These changes are intentional, and blizz probably figured they were better for the game. But like you said, it's not about what's good for the game. It's the philosophy of not changing the game that makes these a problem. Classic Era is a safehaven for those of us that play it. We could hold on to the fact that the game could never change or be ruined by blizzard or the players because it could never have changes. Now that is being called into question.

I disagree. I don’t think they did this “by accident”. It’s all by design, I believe. They’re forcing classic era to turn into retail wow. I think it’s the opposite of what you said, they’re pretending to be incompetent, but they’re doing this intentionally. I think for now, they’re testing the waters to see who would accept it and who wouldn’t. Look at the wow token, for example. It mostly got negative reception, but the people using it still made more money than the rest of the subscribers combined, I believe. Even if most people quit playing classic era, it still won’t make a difference to blizzard. They’ll just add in a cash shop and the revenue from people buying from it alone will more than make up for the people who quit, but were only paying with their subscriptions alone. Classic era will eventually just completely be like SOD: Retail wow with classic wow graphics and eventually, microtransactions.

The people that have actually been playing classic era WANT might of the stormwind we want rend buff as alliance players, we already work 12 hour days and having to also time a MC cap for a 3 hour cd on a tight schedule it’s not fun. Make a poll for actual era players not streamers. The game is full of dads and adults like myselfs just look at the skill difference between retail and classic players.

The only change I remember is the horde only rend buff coming to alliance. I am in favor of this going to era, simply on the basis that alliance players have always been able to get the buff but it is orders of magnitude more annoying to get it. Would anyone honestly bat an eye if that one had gone to era alongside the chrono boon to store world buffs? I am also a big fan of the chrono boon because it is stupid to be forced to NOT play so you don't waste world buffs before the raid. Not even looking at pvp servers and purge griefing or straight up killing people on their way into the raid...
It's starting to look like this is what SoD was about all along, weakening peoples resolve against changes. SoD is essentially a form of classic with changes, so their getting them used to changes, but why? probably to add in cash shops eventually to classic era and so on. Money is usually the driving force with corporations. If I still played I'd just play private servers instead of their compromised "classic" servers. I think they should have just ended classic at WOTLK. First off classic is already in trouble as most players who wanted to experience classic WoW wanted to experience the first 3 expansions. Now they are heading into the area where WoW started to decline initially so less and less people are going to be interested in the nostalgia of an expansion they probably care for initially and there will be less people who want to play it again. It's a snowball effect that will probably leave the servers on life support by the end of Cata. Because of this Blizzard needs to make some change, something that will cause players to want to check it out/try it out, but that goes against the spirit/the whole point of classic. There is no solution other than to just let it die or leave it on life support, let those who want to play the servers play it. Blizzard isn't going to keep something going that isn't actively making them money as they could be putting time and resources into other projects so they would probably just kill it before leaving it on life support but they keep some of their other games like star craft and heroes of the storm on life support so who knows.

Classic players are beyond cringe. They claim they want the essence of vanilla, but will run 20-25 addons, some which tell them how to play the game and some that enhance the ui. Also using a leveling addon they pay for lmfao. Yet they complain when real quality of life hits the game. Imagine crying that you dont need to stand in Org waiting to get MC'd for a buff if you're alliance. Its beyond wild to me. And I dont even think polearms will affect druids that much since theyre already extremely worse than a warrior and rogue.

Classic is no more grindy than live is. Difference is there is 500% more travel time in classic than in live. Classic is inconvenient and wastes time more than anything. Yall can cope all you want classic era is dying ecept for a couple guilds that are holding on. I raid on reset on classic era lol its straight up dying. No one wants to play it because of the gap between new and old players and there is nothing closing that gap except a month of playtime. No one wants that lmaoo

Aren’t these mostly error fixes? Druids should have been able to use polearms and the devs stated those buffs weren’t supposed to be dispellable.
No? Druids have never been able to equip polearms in Vanilla, and the buffs have always been dispellable. These are SoD changes that have seeped into Classic Era.

The Druid class used for lore could use polearms. The devs have stated that the buffs were not supposed to be dispellable and was a coding oversight.
I’m not saying that they were in vanilla; but it seems like these 2 things, not all; are coding misses and not changes.

@@TheSabotaje I’m not defending anyone. I’m stating simple facts on 2 of the changes. Did I express support for the other changes? No. Not everything is a psyop bud. There have been people from Vanilla who still complain druids can’t use polearms. Their D&D class fantasy was incorrectly implemented. Go look at tankspot and old yahoo posts lol. It’s been an issue of contention since day 1.
@@jamesg9468 Druids using polearms is one thing they should have fixed in 2019.. it wasn't in the game, but it was intended in some form by the designers.
Spears not being the finalized name, but polearms, along with them being separate skills, but anyhow.. this is from Vanilla WoW manual, page 78, Druid:

Classic players are beyond cringe. They claim they want the essence of vanilla, but will run 20-25 addons, some which tell them how to play the game and some that enhance the ui. Also using a leveling addon they pay for lmfao. Yet they complain when real quality of life hits the game. Imagine crying that you dont need to stand in Org waiting to get MC'd for a buff if you're alliance. Its beyond wild to me. And I dont even think polearms will affect druids that much since theyre already extremely worse than a warrior and rogue.
Addons doesnt change the way the game is goofy. Its still grindy and an actual MMO game with an active community
Classic is no more grindy than live is. Difference is there is 500% more travel time in classic than in live. Classic is inconvenient and wastes time more than anything.
Every game has an active community. Even New World does and its very much dead.
You seem to be missing the point about addons. Its the fact that one can rage over a new stormwind buff saying it breaks the spirit of classic, yet you wanna run MODERN addons in a game thats 20 years old and completely solved. For what?

Go play the version u like and let others enjoy what they like. Your comparison to addons and world buffs is horrible.
First of all its a zaryu video and he plays all wow. 2nd I love all forms of WoW and Im not hating on people wanting to play classic AT ALL. Ive been playing this game prolly longer than you and have more hours than you. Ive lived thru all the patches. When I couldnt afford to play live, I was on private servers that you have no clue about outside of nost/eyls and now turtle wow. The point of the comment that you seem to be missing with your smooth brain is that classic players are raging over nothing significant. People just love to be mad nowadays because life is too comfortable.

They're fine with chronoboon and the pvp rank changes but are against druids using polearms and buffs being undispellable it's kinda wild lmao.
Good changes for sure. Era community is just bored sitting around afk on the forums waiting on World Buffs between Naxx GDKPs.
