A SEREN Powerchair by DRIVE - Batteries show full charge on SHARK Joystick control unit. After about 20 mins of usage to do shopping, the speed drops a little, and then after further 8 mins or so battery charge drops to 2 bars from 4, finally to 1 bar (total time 50mins) when near the driveway which is on small incline. the power switches off. On switching the chair ON a few mins later there is FLASH code (8 times) for several mins, when I turned it off. On switching it ON again the power light flashes 2 times every few seconds. Code 2 = Battery problem, or 8= Power module problem. What is your opinion? Can you help with diagnoses please!. The power chair is 1 year old and is used 5 days a week, and charged overnight after every trip thanks.
Hi the first thing i would do is to fully charge the batteries and get them tested, regardless how old they are. Also check all terminal, wires etc.
I hope you check your comments. I purchased a infected Panther XL-4 for my mother in law to she can bet out of the house and see the beautiful new neighborhood we recently moved to in SC.My drive way is a bit steep and recently the scooter quickly looses power and has to be shut off and restarted repeatedly to get her up TBE Bruce way. No codes just quits. I've Thoroughly disassembled and cleaned both potentiometers with same results. Removed the brushes blew out the sockets and still.... There are no repair shops in my area. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated. I pray this finds you.and yours well.... Kevin SC USA
have you used a battery tester on the batteries? - sounds to me to be something is overloading? but check batteries with a cheap ebay battery tester/loader
great video i bought new batteries about 8 months ago now suddenly after 2/3 miles my scooter goes from full power to low power and it flies downhill but on an uphill it almost stops. it "bumps" along slow/med/slow/med in small spurts. this after the first 3 miles or so are fine. batteries seem ok 8 months old can it be brushes? thanks
Yes could be. Mind you if it very fast downhill then it could be the motor becoming old
@@tomjacques4 ok thanks ill add it is very very fast uphill aswell but the problem seems to be battery drain. it runs fine up and downhill for a while 2/3 miles. then suddenly fast drain.
Hai Sir.. can I used 2battery different ah.. example 1 battery 12v 40ah and 1 battery 12v 50ah..
Hi it will work.....mind you its not recommended and your batteries will not last as long (overall life) as they would not be paired
OK sir.. My original mobility battery pair 12v50ah,but the battery have some damaged, I changed to pair 12v 40ah, can or not if I use 40ah. Now my problem is the mobility scooter don't have power..
Hi Doctor, my shoprider has a similar problem. It moves but after a minute or so it cuts out. The batteries are ok, but also the battery indicator varies on the scale, if I switch off, wait a moment or two the scooter moves and the indicator shows as normal, but it continues to act as it is doing
but the speed of the scooter is much slower with the problem. The electric break is working and I can’t feel anything overheating, HELP.🤔😳
Thank you for the great video, i opened my motor on a Rascal taxi and found a large crinkled washer stuck on the magnet im assuming it goes in front of the bearing that sits in the end of the motor can you tell me if thats correct, I tested the brake and it seemed ok as your other video showed. the scooter was running slow in fast mode so i assumed the brake was at fault the batteries are fine 13 v each
I’ve no opened a taxi motor but if it’s thin and the same size as the bearing then yes. Could be a faulty throttle pot or speed pot

How do you test a circuit breaker? Got a pride colt sport with no power whatsoever. All fuses intact , keyswitch replaced and tested , batteries fine , main harness all fine. I’m stumped
You will need to do a continuity test on it follow the wires to the controller there should be a couple of fuses close to it
Ah thats what i was getting... A fluctuation if voltage...
I did a continuity test on my circuit breaker and it was fine. But not much voltage coming through. So I wonder if I need a new tower with circuit breaker... I think the continuity test made me assume it was okay... Unless it can work partially...

That's not my problem I've replaced the batteries because they were bad but now it comes to a abrupt stop when your in rabbit speed. What part should I replace now
organica35 hi I would have the speed pot on full power. Then drive it. While driving slowly rotate the speed knob to slow. If it cuts out then it could be a faulty speed pot.
@@tomjacques4 doesn't cut out in slow gear only fast
organica35 so have the speed pot at slow then increase to max power mind Have the throttle pressed around full power all the time. Again it it cuts out then most likely it’s the speed out
@@tomjacques4 yeah it just cuts out in fast gear. It's a pride victory scooter and I can go in slow and medium but on fast it cuts out.
organica35 hi so if you rotate the speed knob and it cuts out then it look like there is a flat spot on said item. So potentially it could be the speed pot not giving a correct reading to the controller sees a problem and cuts out.
