Who’s buying one ? Check out my wind test video ! This thing is amazing !! ua-cam.com/users/shortsQ0dPO_fG5Dw?feature=share
I just got one and it might be the ultimate bowl lighter, perfect angle and the satisfaction of slamming it closed while clearing it enhances the whole experience
And yes tapping on the glass bowl with the zippo after to make sure the rest burns evenly , just perfect
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors A man who clearly appreciates the finer things in life, I love your videos dude
Mine has been in daily use for three weeks and so far it's a great performer. I'm a pipe smoker so it has definitely received a workout 😀.
That’s awesome !! I’ve only had mine a week and it’s bullet proof. Wait for my video on how I take it apart and upgrade it. I’ve already done it will be out in a couple weeks
I really enjoy your content! Got mine in the mail yesterday and really like it. Smoke a pipe daily. Like its brother the yellow flame regular, not too good
on windy days, but works great indoors. If its windy use a torch lol! Had been using a zippo yellow flame insert for about a 2 weeks and it works very well too.
Thanks Robert appreciate it. Yeah this pipe yellow flame works good in he wind as long as the hole isn’t facing it. I made a video yesterday on it.
Great review! I'm so excited to see Zippo release a butane pipe insert. I'm going to order one right now.
Haha nice ! Yeah I use it everyday
I have been waiting for one of these since they did the normal soft flame. Can't wait! I would be interested in the Zippo insert takedown video, always love teardowns.
Haha yeah my man. Pretty cool u when take them apart. Also this is a pretty wind proof insert if use it properly. I posted a short on it
Right now, Zippo has these listed on their website, but they aren’t promoting them at all.
Ok so these are finally on the website good to no buddeh. They won’t need the promotion now with this video lol
I asked about this in the stream yesterday or the day before, thanks for doing a review 👍
Hey ! No problem Sam yeah I remember last night I asked. Decided to drop it a day early for ya !!
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors hell yeah, appreciate it!!! Keep up the awesome videos!!! Cheers from Edmonton 🍻
@@SamGrey yeah buddy ! Been to Edmonton plenty times. Just posted a wind test video. U might wanna check that out it’s a short. This thing is awesome
Always good quality stuff and tips. Thank you ❤️

@@Zippofanatic77outdoors i will ❤️
@@zenguru84 yeah it’s pretty sweet man !
Definitely getting one, have been using the yellow flame insert for a while now and it is very wind picky, this new side style will work great for pipes and cigars.
Hey Bryan ! Yeah it’s funny u mention that it’s super windy right now and i just finished filming a video showing how windproof this is !
Just ordered mine. Can’t wait to get it. Love Zippo’s but only use them occasionally because I hate the lighter fluid taste when lighting up my pipe. So pumped they’re making these inserts
Oh sweet man ! Your gonna love it. U will get that smooth flavour now but with the timeless ultimate class the zippo has to offer.
Been using one for a few weeks, works good. The back being cover definitely helps the wind resistance. It’s not my everyday but it’s definitely in my rotation or as a backup in my pipe bag
Nice kaleb. I’ve only had mine the week and I’ve been loving it. not what I leave the house with though
@md-xe8uf I usually use a zippo with the normal pipe insert or an Ez reach bic. Though I have been using the new pipe insert more regularly
I have to say I don’t need one of these because I don’t use butane. BUT!! You did a great job showcasing this inset I might actually buy one. Good work Sir !
Thanks dougler!!!
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors well your videos are top notch and you are a pillar in the Zippo Community.
@@dougfury. calm down Doug ! Haha thanks buds I really appreciate that. I try my best to put out the best info I can.
I've used the regular yellow flame and the pipe yellow flame extensively for lighting my tobacco pipes. In my experience this new butane pipe version is way more wind resistant than the straight up yellow flame butane version. The housing provides a bit of a wind screen and ergonomically my hands screen the wind better with the pipe version and finally the pipe bowl screens a bit when the tobacco burns down a little. The 45° angle puts the flame directly on the tobacco easier for me anyway. I like the Zippo version over the Z-pipe and Vector versions too because I prefer the flint wheel over the crystal ignition. I am pleased with this insert and it fits all of my cases. Thanks for the review amigo.
Yeah I posted a wind proof test video. Things Amazing
I just bought one of the last ones from Amazon yesterday, I have the normal yellow flame insert, I’m exited to try this new one!
Oh your gonna like it buds. Sold out on eBay now ? Lol
I live in Arizona USA. Got one a couple weeks ago from eBay. Love it.
Sonic !! Hell yeah brother I absolutely love it
I am a pipe smoker and recently got this butane insert. My biggest complain is the small butane capacity, only 0.9 gr, for me last only one day. I thought it was leaking gas and fill it and weight it over many days, no leaking. After research I found out the capacity is only 0.9 gr of gas. IM Corona Old Boy holds 3.3 grs. Bic Maxi (the bigger size holds 4.9 grs!). If zippo makes a bigger tank it would be fantastic.
It’s gotta fit in the zippo. You can’t make the zippo bigger, kinda ruins the whole remains unchanged for 80 years thing they got going
Thanks for informing us!
Any time!
Just ordered mine they were out of stock for the longest time! First zippo ever also! Got a sick engraved matte black zippo and the yellow flame pipe insert can’t wait!
Nice buds !! That’s gonna look sick
Very nice!!!
Thanks Luke ! I love this thing
I grabbed myself one when I got yours, I really like it so far. Nice video 👍
The man the myth the legend lol yeah these are frigging great !!! Gonna rock this in your 35 custom ?
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors I'm going to have to lol
@@lippeguitar1 haha gonna be sweet !
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors It's going to be weird having it after seeing it on your live streams for so long
@@lippeguitar1 hahaha more like gonna be awesome. Plus the two other ones I sent ya !
Hey Zippo Fanatic, could you maybe do a video on how to replace the battery on a Ziplight? Can't find what batteries they use anywhere, so would be very much appreciated!
Hey buds would if I could. I have no idea about any of that. A subscriber did it for me. He actually wired in a different batter my so I don’t know. I am very uneducated in electronics.
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors That's too bad. Thx for the comment tho! Still going to have to find my own ways then 😅😅
@@yorick9053 I’d just get a flashlight key chain and put it inside to be honest. Then u can charge or change the batteries when it dies
Awesome! Yes, I want one! 😎👍🏻
Haha they are pretty sweet !
Found this while looking for a replacement for my thunderbird pipe lighter. Definitely going to see if I can source one of these
I just may try one. Thanks buddy
No problem Peter !! Thanks for leaving a comment.
Awesome. I think I’ll get one.
U should buddy !!!
I want one now Mike !!
Only 16$!
Thanks for sharing this content
You bet!
I'm a pipe smoker and I've yet to find anything better than a regular fluid insert. They are so damn reliable! I ordered one of these and can't wait to try it out. Who knows maybe this will replace my fluid inserts
Oh nice your gonna love this then. But nothing beats the reliability’s of fluid. I just use both
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors Yeah, that's the thing that's hard to beat. I've tried a host of butane lighters and they tend to suck. Even higher end ones like IM Corona Old Boy. That $20 zippo with fluid just always works.
@@fivevs1 lol 100%. But I do have to say the butane inserts do serve a purpose for me. I have a rather large collection of zippos if I can believe it lol the nice thing about the butane inserts is now I get to use more of my collection with out having to fill them all the time. The main benefit for me
I found it in Amazon, so it caught my attention. I decided to see some reviews of it. Maybe I liked it. 😅😄👍
Nice !
appreciate this video! I love their yellow flame butane inserts even if they're made in china and have a lot of problems. i might order like 10 of these lol
Hahaha these literally have no problems. U probably get away with two for the rest of your life lol I took these apart and they are fixable forever basically. The video should be out in a couple weeks.
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors but is two ever really enough? xD
@@Jad3444 haha not really. I have like 10 zippos I always switch out and they all have torches and yellow flames in them lol
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors that's the way i'm trying to live brother! can't wait for vid in a couple of weeks tearing these things down!
@@Jad3444 yeah they are set up a little differently. But They have some really cool parts inside
My yellow flame pipe insert is in the mail. I got it for camping where the piezoelectric igniters tend to die from the humidity and altitude - sometimes permanently. I don't think the crystals are very well sealed and humidity gets inside doing damage. Flint won't work when wet. but dry it out and I am in business again.
Zippo flints work wet. I got a video on it.
I didnt know about them until you just did this video, I been using the normal yellow flame insert you showed in the video for a long time now, I will be for sure getting this new pipe yellow flame type insert ill probably buy two they look cool and more useful.
The only real problem I find with zippos yellow flame insert which they never seem to correct and its so irritating is that they never seem to fit in my zippo cases and always slide up and out, i hate having to wedge something in it to keep them down.
Yeah these are way more wind resistant. And these seem to fit in all
My zippo’s snugly
@Zippofanatic77outdoors I've checked the uk store it's not in the uk at the moment can't seem to find them elsewhere any suggestions?
@@papworktv5 USA eBay
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors yeh I checked all markets around UK 🇬🇧 but they definitely don't have it so I'll have to try order it from USA see if they'll deliver.
@@papworktv5 your only option at this point
I just got a regular yellow flame and don't have any problem striking it works great as long as my finger doesn't slip. But honestly the flame on mine is way too high .
Yeah a lot of people have that complaint. I like the big flame so it doesnt bother me. If u want it smaller use a crappy butane.
Just became a new fan, why did you stop uploading on the other channel? I was checking out the old channel and the last channel and thought you stopped posting.
No brother that one got frigging hacked. Started a new one. Thanks Ben ! Appreciate it
I saw an associate of mine had one on a pipe smokers page. Had to order one...
Yeah I use mine everyday absolutely love it.
Zippo should have taken a page out of other high end lighters in which whenever you open the cap the gas stays on so you dont have to worry about keeping the button depressed. Still a good design and a step in the right direction. . maybe the next iteration will be that but defintely keep the flint wheel for lighting
There is a thunderbird insert that Is exactly what u speak off. They weren’t for me though. I Didnt like the butane spitting out when the lid was open. Also sometimes The cam sticks open even when u think it’s closed and slowly leaks out.
This is my first time seeing these. As a tobacco pipe smoker, this is what I've been hoping they would make for a while
Nice how many u getting? Lol I’m glad I got two.
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors I'll probably just get 2. 1 to use and a backup
@@nathenwallis5664 yeah that’s exactly why I got two. There is 2 year warranty on them and they do honour it in typical zippo fashion , no questions asked here’s your brand new one
@Zippofanatic77outdoors I need to get another Zippo. I have one with the standard Zippo brand yellow flame butane insert ( I just got that insert a couple weeks ago ), which is pretty good. I'm not a fan of the standard inserts, since I don't like the smell of lighter fluid, it throws off the taste of the tobacco to me, and obviously the constant refilling is a pain.
@@nathenwallis5664 yeah so the yellow flames are gonna be right up your alley then. Get and armor and 41 replica
I was just about to buy one yesterday on Amazon and it sold out, I may just get the original yellow, although I am a pipe tobacco smoker…
Should be on eBay or from zippo directly. I’d wait for it. They will have more soon. Xmas around the corner. It’s a popular insert
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors good to know!
I use just the insert: it’s so cool without cover😂
I really miss a flame adjustment on this, also on the regular yellow flame insert
Not me. I like a big flame that’s why I always used a zippo. If u want it smaller use cheap crappy butane
I'm in Ohio, great looking product.
i just bought this, which model of case it can fit perfectly? 1935? 1941? Vintage? Armor? is armor needed some tape to perfectly fit?
Fits 35 replica the best. But fits an any zippo. But loose in an armor. Gotta put a piece of tape on it to widen it up
Mine is very inconsistent. It takes at least three tries to light and it’s definitely not going against any wind… it blows out super easily with my breath.
Yeah they def do. Change the flint
How long will the butane stay in it once it’s filled if you don’t use it regularly?
Mine sits there months still works. I don’t use it so the butane will last
Do you think that they'll make a windproof yellow flame, I love my insert but blows out with a slight breeze.
This is the windproof version
I just filmed a video to show how windproof it is. Ill be posting it soon
Video is up check it out !
Hello, the lighter is okay, but I prefer the classic Zippo lighter with all its details. As for the modern Zippo lighters, the Torch and the gas-powered lighters, I do not like them.
Thanks ❤👍🌹
Thanks for sharing!
YESSSSSSSS!!!!!!! 🥹😌
Hi, nice Video, but I have a question, Im a Lefthander, gives it from Zipp?
Yeah would probably be a pain for a lefty but workable. Just hold it on it’s side with the pipe while facing up.
Dude, It would be so cool if you released/made your own inserts
Lol I wish
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors the only limiting factor would be that you would probably want a good Canadian made insert rather than a Chinese one
@@TheCoolCanaidian if I were to make an insert it would be fluid anyways. Just more reliable in the cold
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors yeah, I really think the only benefit to the butane inserts are the extra wind resistance (if it is a torch one)
How's it compare to the original pipe insert when smoking out of a water pipe
Tastes better that’s for sure ! Lol burns it just fine. Feels nice in the hand
Should I buy a cheap zippo just to open and shut to save my EDC zippos fluid I open my lighter like 12 times a day
Nah your good. I open mine 40 times a day
Do you need to keep a button down? I’m in the United States and, the regular Zippo’s don’t need that.
Can't easily get them in Australia either which kinda sucks.
Ah sorry to hear mate
Just FYI, I guess Zippo understood their Chinese flint stone problem, I got my regualr Yellow flame insert manufactured in 2022 had no problem with spark.
They herd us complaining lol
How do you change the flint
I have a video on it bud. Recent one
The only downside is that the button is a little bit small. They should make it bigger.
Yeah probably
Purge the air from the old insert
Still not available here in germany...
departure from the classic, rather battle the wind lighting old ones :)
Fluid inserts are far superior in the wind
left-hand version?
Lol I know right. Not this yeah
This looks interesting but isn't the yellow flame a bit too long? I mean, one of the main advantages of the regular pipe insert is that you can control the length of the flame and the duration of the flame exposure (by controlling the suction through your mouth). This one looks as though it might scorch the rim of the pipe because the flame will always be pointing downwards the amount of the flame isn't controllable.
Lol nope not for me. Sucks the flame in just fine. And it’s a smaller skinnier flame than a regular pipe insert. So def a less chance if that happening. All the pipers I know enjoy it. But the main problem they have with it is that it’s not as wind resistant as the tried tested and true fluid pipe insert. Hope that helps buds but I def think it’s worth getting for only 16$ I use mine everyday
Thank you for allaying my doubts! That's actually exactly the kind of answer I was hoping for 🙂
@@usmanshahid8069 no probs !
@@usmanshahid8069 I also want to make it clear my edc insert is a gold plated fluid pipe insert with the top cap off. Best multi use insert in my opinion. But my butane pipe I use in my nice zippos in an inside setting no wind. So if that aspect is something your thinking of , keep that in mind.
Thank you. That's good to know. I reckon I'll enjoy having them both. 🙂
pipe one is good for cigar? any comments
I prefer torch for cigars outside. But I do use the soft flame also. Whatever I have in my pocket at the time really
The Flint is hurting my finger it’s my 1st zippo does time smooth it out
No your thumb gets tougher then u don’t notice it
Zippo's website says the temp of this thing's flame is "up to 1400degrees". That is WAY too hot to be using on pipes. What's up with that? (I have e-mailed Zippo twice with this question, but it seems they aren't big in to answering emails.)
Hahaha I can’t believe they Didnt email u back. That’s not like them. I think that’s what is considered the max temperature of a soft flame it will be fine trust me. Just ask the pipe community on UA-cam that’s already using them. They all tell me it’s great.
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors Thanks!
It doesn't stay lit by itself. That's a major issue when pipe smoking.
Doesnt affect my bong smoking in any way
Hello Do you know how to make this to glow Zippo 49819 without uv light
A glow in the dark zippo ?
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors yes how i can make to glow without uv light
@@prle3574 lol I dunno. Sunlight I guess
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors Thanks
Does it have a battery ???
No flint
Bro is there any chance for o ring installation on regular insert for sealing???
Oh yeah. U would have to make one urself for a custom fit because of the cam mechanism. But it is doable
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors Bro can you do a video on o ring?
Please check whether chimney cap can be installed on regular inserts and if it can then could you do a video on that too?
@@Abhiram.A-bb3ct lol maybe one day the road. It’s not something I’m very interested in. Sandwich bag trick seals the bottom pretty good and chimney caps suck. It makes your wick so charred black and dry. I couldn’t really stand it stopped using it after 2 weeks lol
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors my new zippo is not working properly even after filling it up properly and the wick is getting burnt.
@@Abhiram.A-bb3ct did u repack the insert
I think I'll skip this one, Zippo should really make a piezo Yellow Flame, because their single and double torch work really well. If they do that then I'd buy that instead of the Yellow Flame since it has problems sparking after about a month.
I have 10 between the regular and pipe ones and ones from the first week they came out for over a year now. None of them lighting issues. I light them up first strike on live streams all the time. Probably user errors
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors I replaced mine like 3 times the new one works, but it don't really use it often since the double torch is better. It lights everytime unlike the Yellow Flame.
🤔...What Zippo is fully wind resistant...❓️❓️❓️
The original fluid zippo. Torches are pretty wind resistant too but not as good as zippo fluid in a regular insert
Arc insert
Nice but no longer smoke a pipe. That being said it would make a great conversation piece at a bar. Sooo maybe I will have a massive internal debate.
Hahah haha yeah the struggle within always gets ya !
I just posted a short on the wind proof capabilities of this lighter if that helps seal the deal hahaha
We need brass butane inserts. This is a good direction tho. I agree with the bicolor zippo one of the dumbest most overpriced zippo yet. Nobody asked for that monstrosity… zippo if you see this, I’ll tell you what we do want,, ARMOR COPPER and maybe some inserts that stay lit till you close it.
Yeah that zippo is terrible lol
Well, since you've asked to leave a comment anyway, so here it goes: in my opinion butane isn't going along with a true Zippo spirit :F
Yeah buddeh ! I hear ya. But other people who prefer butane this a perfect way to get more people using a zippo so that’s good in my books !!
Cool time to be a pipe smoker
Right ! Lol I really enjoy this thing
