Hate on Dee Jay all you want, but you cannot deny the glow up he had from SF4 to SF6. Went from being the most bland and wack characters to a genuine cool ass character with unique mechanics/features(bro literally got a deadly Rave for gods sake lmao)
From what I've heard he wasn't ever too close to being the worst character in the game in SF4. Though he was likely bottom 5 from the time of his release in Super. He was just profoundly mediocre in almost every way.
People crying about Deejay is ridiculous. Yes, he has damaging combos but who doesn't? Deejay actually has alot of shortcomings and requires high levels of execution to perform with.
I find it hilarious that the first game where the character gets shown *any* actual love from Capcom has some people of course complaining about him being too strong. Like, I'm not surprised given inevitable that feels given how lose-lose things are when dealing with people in general, but it's still pretty funny.
@@MusicoftheDamned I agree, why can't Deejay be top 5(or top whatever)? He's not as smothering as characters who have more options out of DR, that's all I'm saying.
He's over represented at the CPT currently. That points strongly to him being over tuned. It's of course not conclusive but it's a strong indicator he may need some nerfs.

As good as Fuudo often looks, there are always those matches where he goes for the shimmy like 10 times in a row, and they just wait and block lol. I think it was at the france offline thing, where it just felt he would refuse to throw.

2:58 he didn’t even have to spend meter, in the corner L Machine Gun Uppercut links into H/OD Jackknife after the OD Jus Cool. And 28:21 if you just hold the charge you can do any Jackknife after punish counter Cr.Hp. He might have tried to but the game probably didn’t register it.
I might be wrong, but I don't think it would have worked, since the first hit was airborne, I think the only possible move in that instant is OD Sobat (Just like if you DI wall splat someone, if you do st.HP xx OD Sway HK, you can't hit most moves after, even drive rush moves, but OD Sobat works)
@@ftank9083 it's because OD Jus Cool (> H especially) on wall splat launches them so high (not sure about the moves other property changes) . If he was that high up then I'm pretty sure he could’ve done M Machine Gun Uppercut instead or Jus Cool > H again meterless then M Sobat, or just simply done H sobat for a bit of extra damage (probably wouldn't have killed tho). I've personally never done it from that specific starter but it looked like he was close enough to the corner and his opponent didn't seem too high up but I could be wrong. Either way he had a lot of options and probably just hesitated to pick one or the game ate his input.
Sf6 has so many perfects with how oppressive offense is in the corner combined with high damage. You spend 3-4 bars when they got lvl 3 and round 2 can end right there
I feel like when you play this game sf6 you just expect super meter to build even top players I would say kinda think like that, I think a subconscious effort needs to be put forth a bit with the decision making on the super meter and not just the drive meter.
DJ's big damage comes from him being up in your face. and he can't do a lot of damage with combos that start with a low, besides sway on punish counter, which requires meter
he was always op i didn't need someone to win a tournament to see that, the problem is that people only think luke ken and jp they're full of bullshit, but dj is plus in almost every move and has probably the highest damage in the game and the sway not to mention his speed
I think every character should have a special move that is invincible to DI. It just doesn't seem fair that if you're burnt out with zero super meter anywhere near a corner, there's literally nothing you can do. You just get stunned by any competent player.
And to add to that, both being burned out and getting yourself in the corner are consequences of multiple bad choices on your end, you don't judge end up in the corner against most characters and you don't get burned out out of nowhere

all of fuudos 2nd places fueled him for sf6

Deejay puts you in mk type offense a lot of sf players dont know how to deal with a character who always seems like he can attack
Fuudo probably the best Dee Jay with Hotdog very close behind him.
