I love all of your videos the authenticity of this one. Just real life cooking for a real life family and carving out those important and precious few minutes of sanity for yourself during the day. Thank you. ❤
A clear example of a chef vs a cook. I'm a cook. I follow each step carefully, measuring each item along the way. Chetna is a chef who understands flavors and techniques and can adjust as needed.
I really liked this video! I've been cooking using your videos and some other blogs for a few months now, but it's still great to see the timing behind everything. Plus I enjoy seeing what ideas you can use for a full meal with sides. The raita and salad were both excellent suggestions, and I'll definitely be adding them to my menus! It's also just nice to see a good simple combo perfect for during the week. Thanks a lot and feel free to add this type of video to your rotation! :D
Loved the video, so more like that please. It’s always interesting to see real home cooking. I guess that’s why I like your channel and books. They’re the antidote to all the British Indian takeaway style base gravy recipes that proliferate on here. Your recipes are so much cleaner and fresher tasting, healthier too.
Great video! I am new to cooking Indian food, so this kind of everyday home-cooked recipe is very insightful! Much more information than the same few recipes on the online recipe blogs.
Thank you for all your wonderful recipes, books, and videos! We have had so many delicious meals thanks to you. We’re going to make the dal parathas (again!) tonight. Soooo delicious! One question: Can you please recommend where to buy an atta parat dough bowl like yours? Thank you very much!
I love your homecooking videos. Chetna, in Bengali recipes usually we do not add water, but allow the water from the leafy veg/ saag to help cook the potatoes and that is a different taste . Am sure you have tried this option as well.
That whole meal is a family favourite. In fact we cooked that purji this week - u can never go wrong with that one. Thanks for sharing but this is an everyday dish for many Asians. Yum.
I really enjoyed sharing this part of your day as shown here.. love your humor... and I have to tell you - you always remind me of my aunt when she was your age.. she rocked that haircut like you do, and had a similar smile and mannerisms, though our ethnicity is very different. Just goes to show you we humans are all the same family. I'm much older than that now, so these are fond memories of my youth.. in the meantime, you have opened this committed omnivore to meat free recipes I actually enjoy as a main course. Delicious. You make me smile for many different reasons :) Especially when it's rainy.. as a resident of the Pacific Northwest, I totally get you when the weather is dreary! Blessings, Chetna and thank you. I must try this now, though I have black kale in the house right now instead of rainbow chard.. I think it'll work fine, what do you think?
Chetna I love to hear what you say your beautiful personality and you're soooooo good at what you do with your beautiful dishes your family must treasure you❤
Oooo, I will be trying those recipes! I’m always looking for an interesting chard recipe and the paratha looks delish! I made the Spinach Chicken and the Tamarind Aubergine Curry from your “Chetna 30 Minute” book last night and OH MY WORD, it was so delicious! I’m enjoying all your books, the photography makes everything look soooo enticing.
I always use my hands to touch and feel for doneness. Any germs will die almost instantly from the heat of the food. It's okay to touch your food when you are cooking and when you are eating.
Can we have a kitchen tour please ie how you organise and store appliances and food. Also what appliances and utensils you have please. I love your recipes by the way ! Also purchased your book :)
Hi Chetna. God your food always looks so good. Still can’t get hang off making roti I should really know how to cook them as come from Indianwhen wil 19:29 family and my mother use to cook Indian food everyday like your mum. Hopefully one day I get there. When the roast dinner blog coming.
I enjoyed the chai as well...made it & posted your masala chai a few days back * tagged you . Not tried cooking chard the Indian way..must do !! Paratha looks yummy
Excellent video 😊.. teaches me how to use non-Indian veggies in America .. also I see how other moms balance cooking , cleaning chores and their hunger , chai time etc 😅 it’s very useful !! Any other effective methods to provide healthy meals while minimizing cook, clean time is very much appreciated 😊
Looks delicious, and I’ve just bought rainbow chard so this is absolutely what I’ll be making for tea tonight! As an aside, the box you put the brownies in… can I ask where you got them and what size they are?! They look to be exactly what I’m after!
I made the sabzi last night - this is going to be a weekly make for me :) more than enough food for just one person - so I can be lazy and just reheat some for a quick meal later. leftovers- yum!
It looks very delicious I love carry and rice very , very much , my question please what is Messily ? Is it curry ? I also followed your recipes… I’m one of the people that loves Indian foods cary very much … I have some MSALA in my fridge but I don’t know what is it , how to use it .. is it mean “carry” can you please help me to know what is it if I can cooked it same as curry with chicken besides rice too ..??
Hi Chef! I had planted Swiss chard in my backyard because I like the name but once it grew like crazy I was like huh how do I make it so I’m thankful for your recipe!
Loved your everyday cooking😍 for the family. I really do miss cooking for mine as they all live Oversee! so I fill my home with friends . Where did you get the pan u mix the Arata In? I'd like to get one for me and my husband. When I was little we hah a really big one. Love from Australia. Denise
Wash your hands (fingertips) with salt afterward, then follow with a soap wash. Grate ginger after garlic to make everything less garlicky, if that bothers you.
Hey Chetna are like me - I hate the way when the mustard seed pop they fly everywhere, even once I have cleaned the kitchen I also seem to find one escaped mustard see 😂😂
Chetna ... too much rambling sorry ! Would be nice if a shorter and straight recipe of your dish. Less painful to watch then ! Good food but video needs seriously to be tuned up . Thank you.
I could listen to your lovely accent and watch you cook all day! Love your channel 🥰
Yay! Thank you!
Your family is very lucky. Wow! So much beautiful healthy food.
Thanks

Also whenever I grate garlic my fingers/hands smell of garlic so I always put them into mixer. How do you avoid the lingering smell? help
ahhhh not sure if I have any tips for that 😔
