I really liked this video! I've been cooking using your videos and some other blogs for a few months now, but it's still great to see the timing behind everything. Plus I enjoy seeing what ideas you can use for a full meal with sides. The raita and salad were both excellent suggestions, and I'll definitely be adding them to my menus! It's also just nice to see a good simple combo perfect for during the week. Thanks a lot and feel free to add this type of video to your rotation! :D

A clear example of a chef vs a cook. I'm a cook. I follow each step carefully, measuring each item along the way. Chetna is a chef who understands flavors and techniques and can adjust as needed.

I always use my hands to touch and feel for doneness. Any germs will die almost instantly from the heat of the food. It's okay to touch your food when you are cooking and when you are eating.

Loved the video, so more like that please. It’s always interesting to see real home cooking. I guess that’s why I like your channel and books. They’re the antidote to all the British Indian takeaway style base gravy recipes that proliferate on here. Your recipes are so much cleaner and fresher tasting, healthier too.

I love your homecooking videos. Chetna, in Bengali recipes usually we do not add water, but allow the water from the leafy veg/ saag to help cook the potatoes and that is a different taste . Am sure you have tried this option as well.

Excellent video 😊.. teaches me how to use non-Indian veggies in America .. also I see how other moms balance cooking , cleaning chores and their hunger , chai time etc 😅 it’s very useful !! Any other effective methods to provide healthy meals while minimizing cook, clean time is very much appreciated 😊

Looks delicious, and I’ve just bought rainbow chard so this is absolutely what I’ll be making for tea tonight! As an aside, the box you put the brownies in… can I ask where you got them and what size they are?! They look to be exactly what I’m after!

I really enjoyed sharing this part of your day as shown here.. love your humor... and I have to tell you - you always remind me of my aunt when she was your age.. she rocked that haircut like you do, and had a similar smile and mannerisms, though our ethnicity is very different. Just goes to show you we humans are all the same family. I'm much older than that now, so these are fond memories of my youth.. in the meantime, you have opened this committed omnivore to meat free recipes I actually enjoy as a main course. Delicious. You make me smile for many different reasons :) Especially when it's rainy.. as a resident of the Pacific Northwest, I totally get you when the weather is dreary! Blessings, Chetna and thank you. I must try this now, though I have black kale in the house right now instead of rainbow chard.. I think it'll work fine, what do you think?

Wash your hands (fingertips) with salt afterward, then follow with a soap wash. Grate ginger after garlic to make everything less garlicky, if that bothers you.
