My Stand name: [D E S P A C I T O]
Stand ability: Beat-down short-range type of stand. Main ability is anything the stand punches, it will lose kinetic energy and slow down.
The more it punches, the slower the target becomes. But it includes abstract things like time perception and utilities like: slow down liquid/blood flow, slow down ticking bomb alarm, or even slow down falling. Kinda similar to Kraftwerk but in smaller increments instead.
Stand cry: DIRI DARI DIRI DARI DAAA
I can see this being a main character stand; it’s just versatile enough to carry someone through multiple appearances, but not versatile enough to instantly solve any problem

I have created a few stands of my own aswell. I couldn't draw a human shaped stand so I stuck to object or nature based stands.

Not retconned. Overhauled. There's substential difference.
Shouldn't the name of the Stand in question also be a major part of how you design a Stand? If you just start designing a Stand and don't have a band, song, or album name to go by for it, then you're gonna end up with no direction. Likewise, if you have a Stand name but no design lead to go with, you're gonna be stuck throwing stuff at the wall hoping something sticks. That said, there are a good number of Stands in Parts 4-9 that just straight do not follow the trends Lukama listed. But they still work and are identifiable as Stands(for the most part) because of their names and abilities that match up with that design. Overall, this is a good guide to making HUMANOID Stands, but if you have a Stand that would fit better as not humanoid, there should be a whole different set of guidelines you should follow.
I'm no expert on Stand designs, so I would not be able to even begin on how to format that, but it is something that should be brought up.
I really liked the video and the tips given, it will help me a lot to practice drawing and who knows how to make a fan manga in the jojo universe. Sorry if I made a mistake writing in English, I'm Brazilian and I'm using Google translator.

My stand idea **[heart of glass]**
**APPEARANCE**: Heart of Glass takes the form of a humanoid figure made of various pieces of glass. Some pieces are transparent while others are opaque. The stand has a slender figure and no distinguishing facial features.
**ABILITIES**:
## **VULNNERABILITY REDIRECTION**
By shattering a part or parts of the stand's body, Heart of Glass is able to redirect any damage and negative consequences back to the source that caused the shattering in the first place.

Although it’s probably top 5 or top 3 power systems in anime and manga, I think it’s way too soft of a power system making it hard to think up stands. Meaning there are no guidelines for making stuff, which stifles my creativity. Though it may just be my fault due to the way I think and learn.
That’s why I find nen, cursed energy, or other systems better for less experienced fans because they have set guidelines with enough vagueness to be creative without breaking the power system.

One idea that I had for a stand was the following:
Name: *Shout*
Ability: can absorb sound nearby that matches a certain frequency (the user can choose which frequency it can absorb), then, it can release all the absorbed sound as an incomprehensible scream, acting as a shockwave or a stunning sound

For example, the features of my stand Mirror Rewind are :
- invered colors/reacts in opposite ways to light
- fractals on the joints and as a hood
- detailed head/mask like, inspired from gold experience
And as smaller details, some parts are red, as well as red cracks.
The limbs are slightly dislocated.
Swimming Pools :
It looks like star platinum covered in piss
Ability : to control every atom of alcohol in a 30 meter radius
It can manipulate alcohol and multiply them, but cant completely change them

omg i had the same idea, heres my version:

stand power: it can copy the powers and stats of other stands but a bit weaker versions (lets say sticky fingers, if i get his power i share his stats and the ability to creat zippers) but i cant use the "special moves" (like star platinum: the world,sheer heart attack or bites the dust, then it would be hella op aint gonna lie).
to activate the power of virtual insanity you have to either the stand user punch (or touch) only once the enemy/ally stand user or the stand has to touch it 10 times, when the stand in its basic form (no powers), the user can remove the copied ability at will within 12 hours, if the power was not removed within 12 hours the copy will remove itself
the stand it self with no powers is pretty basic, punchy boy that packs a bit of a punch, thats it.
I think my stand: Falling To Do deserves a redesign, and nows the perfect time.

I know it's not really common to find in the JOJO universe, but there are stands that can look like regular objects we see everyday, ex: the ship stand in part 3. Not only in terms of looks, it is possible to create stands that non-stand users are able to see ( part 3 ship stand). I know there are other examples of both points, but I can't think of them rn. My point is that we aren't limited to what was shown in the video; it's a great start, but people can create really interesting stands when looking at other inspirations.

this video is pretty useful, although im more inclined to making more bound or unconventional stand designs rather than standard humanoid. for example a character i am designing has a stand that has no humanoid representation, it just takes the shape of a few lego bricks that when put on a surface turns a big portion of that surface into other lego like pieces that the user can manipulate and once the main stand piece is taken out the pieces made by it "turn back" into whatever the original surface was but in whatever shape the user decided to give it.
so for example, if the user puts a brick on a wall, a portion of the wall will turn into more plastic bricks which he can for example, punch a hole in, then take out the stand piece and the wall will turn back into concrete, but with a hole in it to pass through.
I love this idea. I see a lot of potential in it! Please give more examples of you want, I'd love to hear the expansion of this ability!

I wanted to make a jojo character for absolutely no reason.
Stand name: Gangsta's Paradise

Stand quirk: Heckler (loves to insult his opponents and make fun of them), loves to put chalk in his mouth like if it were a cigar, has a big brother complex towards his user.
Stand backstory: The origins of this stand is mysterious to his user and even to the stand itself. He just appeared one day at a crime scene and decided to roam the streets of Compton until he met his user.
Stand description: humanoid (THE REST YOU DECIDE)
Stand battle cry: random swears and insults.
Stand user: Boss (real name unknown)
Gender: Male
Age: 23
Date of birth: 8/1/2016
Location: Compton
Combat ability: decent
IQ: high
Battle IQ: very high
Durability: decent
Reflexives: very high
Willpower: ABSOLUTE
Personality: level headed, virtuous, respectful (even to his enemies), very observant, and reserved.

Backstory: Ever since Boss was a child all he could remember was living on the streets of Compton. He didn't know who his mother or father was, but the one thing he did know was how to survive. He kept wandering the streets of Compton until one day he was held up by a couple of thugs, as they are beating him this strange man with golden hair and lady bug pins started to approach the thugs. And before Boss knew it the thugs were all taken out by the man with golden hair, as he looked up to the man he sees him reach out a hand to help him up and he decides to take it. As he stands up he goes to thank the man but as he looks up the man starts to walk away, and as he is watching the man walk away he sees this golden figure floating behind him. Boss begins to follow the man but loses him in a crowd and as he turns around he sees a figure standing in front of him with a shit eating grin on his face. The figure says " hello there little guy whats your name." Boss confused at what he is looking at says " I-I-I don't know." the figure squats down in front of Boss and says " then why don't I give you a name," the figure begins to ponder. He then says " how about Boss?" the figure looks at Boss to gauge what he feels which Boss shrugs and says " that sounds fine." the figure pats him on the head and stands up. Boss looks up at the figure and says " what is your name?" the figure smiles wide and says " names Gangsta's Paradise or GP for short." as he strikes a pose. Then GP looks down at Boss and says " and I have a question for you." Boss looks up and asks " what is it?" GP looks down his smile somehow wider and asks " would you like to be a Gang-Star?".
And since then Boss and GP have made the most influential gang in Compton gathering members, taking over property, and being feared by everyone. Until one day five cops decide to take him and his organization down which leads into him being defeated by an officer named Connie Covanas ( CoCo for short) and her stand Roundabout.

Take On Me is a defensive stand which rarely throws the first punch, acting in self defense or utility.
Take On Me defends by counterattacking using its fists, weakening the opponent, and if they carry on, killing them. its punches are much slower but much more powerful, this is evident in its stand cry, being a rugged "RUH" with each hit
It has nothing going on defensively, having a weak tolerance to attacks, but is able to withstand a few before falling.
It relies on its speed, range, and power to not get hit in the first place and eliminate the enemy before the enemy can eliminate it, or its user.
Take On Me also has an ability, which is unlocked by the stand user in a moment of pure desperation.
The ability is called "Hell's Coming With Me."
The user and stand become one, the stand increases its power, defense, and speed, burning through the user's life force and energy. This ability is powerful yet dangerous, if used for too long will simply kill off its user due to lack of life. It is used as a last resort to ensure that whoever the stand user is attempting to protect will survive.

Stand power: the ability of Back in Black is that it can fuse with non stand users and manipulate their bodies with the added side effect of giving them stand-like strength and durability, it also changes their appearance by them growing two horns, a demonic tail, claws and tendrils on their backs, the user of the stand can use it from a large distance, however the stand can unfuse with someone by knocking out the one who it is fused with, in it's normal form it does have good durability making it a bit more harder to defeat, a more easier way to beat this stand is by knocking out the stand user.

During the time you are in the water dimension, you can swim wherever you want and can come back to a different location, but only if there is water that also has a bigger area than you. The catch is that during the time you are in your dimension, you will lose energy, and if you don't have energy, you basically die. (It is possible to enter the dimension with multiple people who can also lose energy.)

Abilities : Can make objects erase and then can redraw them and make it go any direction they want the object to go.

Ability: an Automatic stand, if the user catches someone committing a crime, Invisible sun will relentlessly pursue them and when he reaches them, he will restrain all of their bodily organs, killing them. However, Invisible Sun can't act if the user sees Invisible sun. To make it stop its pursuit, the person affected by Invisible sun must compensate for their crimes.

Rigby's ability is to change the type of matter of anything, but it keeps its characteristics, (for example, fire turning into a solid will make anything that touches it burn), and keeps the same velocity, mass and volume. He can only do this if he punches, and there is a limit to how big it can be (roughly being the size of a sperm whale’s width at most (but as an even square)), and he can’t control the objects it affects, and only works for non sentient objects. it changes an infinite amount of objects, but they last for 1 minute, and it takes a lot of power to do a lot of things. Rigby is a sentient stand

Had the idea of motorcycle shaped stand I called “finish line”
Never settled on a model to base it off but it would have skeletal features over it and could remove its outer plating to reveal a mechanical looking, humanoid skeleton underneath. Something I thought would be clever was tuning the “stand eyes” into headlight in the skull
