great video! I've watched it years ago when I started with pedals. Now again:) Now, there are current power plants, though, on the market with the same price. I bought this one and it fits below my Harley Benton Spaceship 50c without adjustments: Rockboard Power Block - Multi Power. For those who watch this video;)
Thanks for the info Petri, that's very nice to hear. Longer screws was such an easy thing for them to improve and it makes the pedalboard way more flexible because you can now easily fit bigger power supplies underneath it.
Hi! If I may ask, where did you buy the pedalboard with the longer screws included? I was looking at Thomann: m.thomann.de/it/harley_benton_spaceship_50m.htm?o=40&search=1596579653

I agree about the power cables that come with the power supply. I much prefer angled connectors at both ends. Searched the internet but can only find ones like those supplied
Thanks for a very clear explaination. I'm sending mine back with the pedal power as it was advertised as being able to work the pedal board underneath. Not So. Unless you're willing to go get screws and Bedrom rocker bottle tops and a bigger drillbit and a drill you might end up as dissapointed as I have. How come these were not supplied? Unusual for Thomann to get an unhappy customer. Anyhow your explanation was clear, concise and to the point and I suggested to Thomann to have a look at it.
Thanks a lot for the comment! Yes, I really don't understand why they don't do these simple modifications out-of-the-box. I feel a lot of people buying the Spaceship 50c would also go for the Iso2-Pro power suppl as they're both budget options
It's a great combination! Harley Benton also has a smaller version of this power supply with 5 instead of 8 outputs that should fit easier without any adaptation...
@@TheBedroomRocker1 According to a German userreviews on the Thomann site, it seems like they added longer screws and washers to the product now. Now I've seen it mentioned somewhere in the comments under your video too, so this might be the case. Something I'd like to ask you... is the powercable really that bad? I see in your video that it's really quite thin. Some Thomann users said it starts to crumble very fast. Watching your video, it really seems like the power supply cable is the weak point and I wonder if we could purchase and use a different one? I wonder what kind of cable it has to be. Honestly, the power cable looks like you could burn a house down with it lol. It doesn't look safe at all.
@@VideosVonDennis To be honest it does look very fragile, but I've been careful with mine and it is still working perfectly after more than 2 years. It also bothers me that the cable is short, so you need to be close to a power socket on stage. I would try it before considering to buy a different one. In any case, it has a regular DC connection and provides 2A at 12V, so any other 12V power supply that can deliver more than 2A will work fine. An interesting alternative could be the new HB PowerPlant PowerBank+ for 87 EUR. It has a large battery in it and can output 2A at 12V to feed the ISO-2 Pro. You can charge beforehand and then be free from sockets on stages, but you can also charge it while playing. However, there are no reviews at Thomann's website so far, so it would be a bet... Thanks for the comment! Make sure to check their new power supplies. They released a smaller version with 5 outputs (ISO-5 Pro) that should fit underneath these flat boards more easily. As many people complained about the weak DC plug, they released new ones with integrated power chord like you find in higher end power supplies. See for example the ISO-2AC Pro Modular. I used a wider drill bit instead :) Thomann sells the feet used on the other boards (40, 60, etc) I used a bigger drill bit and made the holes wider (like when installing CTS pots on import guitars) then just screwed on the feet and job done - bonus, you can then adjust the height of the board as you wish
Thanks for the nice message. Please note that Harley Benton recently released a smaller ISO-5 Pro with 5 outputs. I'm quite sure it should fit under this board without any problems. For the bigger boards there's also an ISO-12 Pro now with 12 outputs
Thanks for the question. The power plant works like a centralized power supply for you pedals, but you still need to plug the power plant into a power outlet. You connect the power plant to all pedals in the board at home and then at the gig/rehearsal you just need one outlet connection to the power plant. It works similarly to a daisy chain, but the advantages of the power plant iso series are 1) they can provide way more current than a typical daisy chain power supply 2) the outputs to the pedals are isolated so less noise in your setup and 3) you have some variable voltage outputs in case you have pedals that require 12 or 18V. I hope that helps
Hello, nice video, can you tell me whats the inner measures so i check if i can fit my power supply on that pedalboard or do i need to adjust it as you did, or maybe buy the 50M, thank you
Hi Gilles, The Fulltone '69 Mk II Fuzz, like most germanium transistor pedals, requires a center-positive polarity rather than the standard center-negative polarity. To power it using the Powerplant ISO-2 Pro, I would need a polarity reverse cable. This should work without any problem, but many people also claim that germanium fuzzes sound their best using old school carbon zinc batteries and that is what I have been using. The circuit consumes very little current (actually most current goes for the LED indicator), so batteries last for months. Fuzz is almost a religion and the bible is likely the Analog Man's website. There's an entire section there talking about batteries there: www.analogman.com/fuzzface.htm I am planning to do a shoot-out video of this fuzz running on carbon zinc battery vs. alkaline battery vs. power supply to see if I actually notice any difference. Stay tuned if you want to see it. Cheers,
Yeah, it's a great combo for a small board. The 50m has an additional rail for pedals, so you can fit longer pedals like a Wah or place pedals rotated 90° there. You can fit more in the 50m, but I dislike having pedals rotated
Hey man, great video! One question, how to replace those black elastic rubber cable that hold the power supply below the pedalboard? They broke after 2min I placed them like yours. Thanks!
I would definitely contact Thomann about this as, in my opinion, this should be a warranty claim. They should be able to send you new ones. Otherwise, essentially any good elastic from Amazon or hardware shop should do the job.
Fala Alberto, sabia que você era brasileiro! O sotaque é de Brazuca! To aqui na Holanda BTW.
