I've always been weary of WBP since they are a relatively new company and produce more commercial-grade guns and parts rather than military-grade, however I give them full credit for their commitment to the US commercial market. For us AK people, the more available the better.
It comes with the cheapest sight tool (NCstar) and sling possible, which isn't good, but it comes with more than a lot of other offerings and does give you a good point to start off with getting your AK and getting into AKs in general.

Nice, I was waiting to see the business end of the barrel. And I was not disappointed, 90 degree gasblock and the 74 brake. I wonder if it's over gassed? Looks good so far.
I understand what your saying although The poles have always been known for there use of the “in the white” bolt carrier and the nitride barrel is a bit more accurate than a CHF CL barrel whilst also being cheaper. If we are going based off “TRUE” AKM spec the bolt carrier should be black, barrel CHF CL, and top (dust) cover ribbed but anyways this a 5.45x39 rifle so it’s more of an AK-74 which is completely different I know you know that. Nyet rifle is fine lucky to have a good import in general at a reasonable price in 5.45
@ yeah the bolt and trunnion is beat to hell after 250 rounds…looks like I ran 15k…poor heat treatment and out of spec. Spent casings in the chamber and jams. Wish I could upload pics but yeah I’m not very happy. Thankful for my zastavas, vepr etc! This GF5 was supposed to be a beater gun to have fun with and keep rounds off my imports but that backfired haha 😂 this was my experience so I can’t speak for everything PSA sells but they most certainly have QC issues. These internals are like cast yet they claim “hammer forged”

I’ve used a couple of the WBP barrels recently for some 74 builds. I have to say they are extremely tough the nitride finish looked lighter than normal but man it ate of drill bits. They make Very nice barrels too.

From my experience not really but with the current prices of todays 74s and lack of options, if you really want a 74 the wbp aint bad but its not great especially the firing pins which ive seen always broke around 1 to 2k rounds I'm not a fan of that the barrel and the bolts are proprietary I wish they were just like standard 74 specs so I could drop surplus parts into it
Dang - I didn't know the bolts were proprietary. I've heard of the firing pin issues and it's not cool, but I'm not concerned as this is a beater rifle for most folks still into 5.45. It's the best we got these days for a cheap 5.45 rifle as PSA is just trash. I have a PSA and I will never buy a product from them again.

I ordered WBP AK74 in middle of October. I expect it in a week or two according to the service rep. I ordered it as a copy of the Afghanistan rifle as far as features go. Waiting impatiently. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Edit: shipped just under 4 weeks for custom order.

I've got ab 5k rnds of the tela in x39...i got a little worried and ordered a bunch before trying it out...I'm ab to dip into it after finishing off an old case of wolf but i tried a box of the tela and that stuff is HOT...noticeably a good bit more pop

Initially WBP used CHF chrome lined barrels made by FB Radom but after starting the production of their own barrels, all WBP barrels are button rifled in their plant in Rogów and sulfate nitrided in a company located in Łódź, usually doing such stuff to tools and similar equipment. I live ca. 20 miles from WBP and about 5 miles from the company that nitrides their barrels. :)

The point being for both of us that people are hankering for a small-bore 100/74-appearing rifle and the only options currently coming to market are the Beryl (expensive, short-lived on the market and half proprietary) and US made garbage. In any case, I've found the pre-listing for the 5.56 version that looks like just what I'd want. Cheers!

They should know the American market makes a big deal out of chrome lined barrels... especially on AKs. I wouldn't buy a Zastava M70 until theirs started being chromed.
Question, isn't that second bayonet lug that you called "vestigial" functional if you remove the muzzle device? I would think the bayonet should be able to slide all the way down to engage the second lug without the muzzle break, but I don't have the pair to try.
It’s for a grenade launcher like a gp25. A bayonet wouldn’t fit because the front sight muzzle brake combo is much larger around than a regular 14x1 akm muzzle.

PSA is still doing AK-74's in 5.45. I've been going back and forth on whether to get a PSA or WBP for an AK-74 clone. It's about $200-$300 more for a WBP and I'd need to get a black bolt carrier and I'm personally not a fan of the "enhanced" safety, and I'd probably replace the paddle mag release too.

I don’t know why I dig a 90 degree gas block so much. The 45 degree is actually sleeker and less boxy. We like what we like.

For someone just getting into AKs, any sight tool is better than none at all. As for the sling? Its fine but absolutely nothing special at all.

My PSA GF5 is toasted after 250 rounds 😂😂😂😂😂 never again! First American made Ak and it’ll be my last. Live and ya learn

I used one of those safety's on an AIMS 74 build didn't notice the enhanced feature but yet again. It has a upswept charging handle.
I purchased the jack sr no mount but has all the import markings it's a beutiful gun 💯
In the looks department they got it right imo.
I definitely have cuts on the top of my hand from charging my jack

I ran a box of x39 thru my wasr.. nothing.. I will add that it is quite hot ammo...felt like my ak was supercharged compared to wolf

Highly recommend stuff from Zastava, especially the ZPAP M70. Heavy, built like a tank and very accurate for a stamped piston gun
