    Great video ! My first Ak I ever built was polish military kits.I took the quality for granted because it was my first AK build. Then you see the parts from other countries and realize their stuff is outstanding quality especially the barrels! I love them. WBP stuff is also outstanding quality.
    Side note. My AKMS underfolder bolt carrier does not have lightening cuts . All numbers match from 1980
    Which I just recently picked up on.

    I got my 2018 marked Fox in late 2019 . It has the lightening cut on the bolt carrier and the ridge on the recoil sprint/dust cover release but appears to have the old style of paint, so maybe it’s a “Gen 1.5”. I am very pleased with it and am now sold on the quality of Polish AKs. As a side note, I think the Polish eagle looks neat on the Gen 2 now that it’s highlighted in white.

    Awesome video Misha! I'm a collector in a way myself. I do have Arsenal SAM7SF, Zastava ZPAP M70, Galil ACE and WBP Fox. While I personally don't much consider Galil ACE to be an AK other than the fact it's build in AK platform. It looks noticeably different and has many modernized features compared to other AK variants. Therefore, that leaves SAM7SF, M70 and Fox 47 to compare. Out of this 3 I think Fox has the most smoothest action and feels a lot more practical. Arsenal has one of the cheapest finishes and SAM7SF is milled (it's heavier). Zastava is also noticeably heavier than the Fox and it's picky when you try to put different optic mounts or change furnitures. With all that said Fox is my most favorite AK variant out of my all AK style rifles. Cheers!

    • @KaizenLife
      @KaizenLife 3 роки тому +1

      Lol I'm following your path. I have the ZPAP, Arsenal, Galil Ace, and now NEED the Fox. I don't know why, but the ZPAP being so heavy bothers me since it isn't a milled AK. I loved how light a WASR felt and I hope the Fox is just a nicer WASR.

    • @SOBIsHobbies
      @SOBIsHobbies 3 роки тому

      @@KaizenLife good collection you got going there. I agree ZPAP is noticeably heavier rifle for stamped receiver. I think that has to do with its thicker receiver and thicker barrel that Zastava puts on these rifles. Upside, it definitely feels more high quality and has a good feel to it when you hold it. Downside, due to its already hefty weight there’s no whole lot of room to modify it. WBP Fox is a great AK rifle as well. While it also has a good quality feel to it, it’s much lighter than ZPAP. If you can get one I highly recommend getting it. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. I put Beryl accessories on my FOX, now it looks quite interesting. I’ve been getting some complements for it and offers too. 😁 I’ve been meaning to make a video about my AK variants. Hopefully I can make it happen sometime soon.

    I love my Fox. Got it in February of this year and shoot it quite often. It is my only AK but in the future I could see myself getting a Mini Jack as well. Or maybe the Beryl if I want a 5.56 AK.
    One thing to add, I don't recommend the beryl optic rail that mounts between the rear sight block and the lug on the stock. It's very heavy and places the optic really high over the dust cover, so you can't even really get a chin weld. Also, the latch in the rear cramps the space to rest your chin against the stock and makes the gun feel cramped. I ordered an RS Regulate mount after having the beryl mount on for a couple months - long enough to realize it made me enjoy the gun less.

      As someone who owns both I give the edge to the Fox. It has 2 different mounting systems opposed to 1, better fit (at least in my case), better furniture out of the box, and a bayonet lug. Finish is pretty similar between the two.
      The two big "advantages" of the Yugo are a thicker receiver and bulged trunnion. In a standard semi auto carbine however, these really don't do much. It's an example of reinforcing areas that didn't need it.
      The Yugo will also have a smaller aftermarket, and I'd predict the Fox will eventually climb in value to a higher ceiling than the m70 due to lower numbers of imports.
      Both are excellent rifles but if I could only keep one it would be the Fox.

      All of these guns are only as good as their converter. I've heard of few issues with Foxes in general, and they are forged where necessary.
      The FB radom imports are probably a little closer to true milspec, but the Fox is no slouch and absolutely competes with the best of them. At least in my opinion.

      Not screwed but you would be paying through the nose no matter what. That said, a lot of people are dumping their 5.45 guns right now, so its a 'better' time to get one than a few months ago.

      In order of preference for a 5.45 I would look for: 1.) SGL-31 2.) A competently converted Saiga. 3.) Arsenal SLR 104 or 105. 4.) A Bulgarian AK74 kit build done by a reputable builder on a good receiver like a Childers or Recreator.

    Had several issues with my 2020 model Fox including sights canted so bad it couldn’t be zerod, a barrel that was so off it couldn’t be zeroed with any muzzle device (spent all day chasing zero if a brake was on due to badly non concentric barrel), and the chrome on the piston pitting after a couple mags *not from corrosive ammo*. And the damn stock screw kept backing out with every mag tried glue loctite everything. Atlantic is replacing the rifle for me for free even out of warranty. Hopefully better luck with the second rifle

    Nop! Don`t worth over ap1000 $! This is a cheap gun, at a huge price!

    • @TheDiameter
      @TheDiameter 2 роки тому

      How is it cheap? Is it Arsenal or KC level, maybe not, but SAMs and VEPRs are $1800-$2600 guns at this point so this is 1/2 the price of a VEPR. Hell it’s $500-1000 cheaper than SLRs depending on model. This is far superior to any WASR on the market and easily a cut above Zastava… and neither of those rifles are going for a dime less than $1k at this point.
      So again, what makes it “cheap” and it’s price so “huge”?
