Did Tiffany have their own manufacturing plant then? I thought they were just retailer.

At one point in time they did indeed have a factory in Switzerland. However many of their watches over the years have either been co-branded or produced for Tiffany & Co with the Tiffany & Co name by third party makers. Historically their in house design and collaborations went far beyond that of most retailers.
