Without warning a plane plummets towards the earth at 20,000 feet per minute, sending the pilots into panic. It's a miracle these pilots survived. The mechanics messed up when installing the aileron cables leading to the aileron controls being reversed.

This one of the most extraordinary aviation stories I’ve heard of. The pilots flew this uncontrollable jet for 2 hours without giving up. The aircraft flew erratically for nearly entire flight and was almost disintegrated by the extreme G-loads it experienced. The pilots saved everybody’s lives and the plane, but the plane was scrapped soon after this because it was severely damaged.

To me it just seems like something basic if you're maintaining an aircraft to make sure the flight controls are moving freely and correctly.
