TbH tough, this is "just" a Raspberry Pi with it's limited capabilities, not a "full" PC. A commodore or something like that was state of the art hot shit. However the price reflects that differents as well of course. Crazy how far we've come so far with computers, that thing is defenetly well suited for usual Office Bullshit and everything you'd do on the Internet and can handle a lot of Emulation tasks just fine. Including emulating the good old Amiga or Commodore as well.

That was so -long- much effort (and I ended up losing a keyboard!) and if the 400* was available then, I would have loved it (and probably not have bothered even getting a laptop, as there wouldn’t have been a need for one!)

Worth bearing in mind that the unit by itself is quite a bit cheaper, and the bits that come in the kit may not be needed. The good thing about the 400 is that it's effectively the Pi 4, keyboard, case and cooling all in one, and hopefully the only things to source would be a micro HDMI adapter/cable and a microSD card (and should be easy to get!)

Yeah, but so far no Raspberry Pi has had one, a shortcoming for sure, but an expected one, analog audio out not being available is less expected. Nothing that can't be fixed with a USB audio adapter thought, but I would have built one in together with a USB 2.0 hub for more ports. Quite a lot of wasted space on the Custom/Revision'ed Board, which could easily fit in full-size HDMI and even PCI-e slot and eMMC slot.
With the amount of space they have on this Board, they could even make a 16GB RAM variant as well without much issue (though i guess it would up the cost and power draw).

Plus in the desktop kit you get 2 micro hdmi cables compared to only 1 with the 400. And yes the cpu is a bit faster with the 400. So basically with the 400 you’re paying for the novelty of the form factor.
