Awesome! "You train being afraid if you keep pushing yourself into fear." - "Be really focussed on every movement!" Wow, yes, so simple yet so eye-opening. Thank you two so much for making this interview happen. Of course I bought the book :-)

Thank you for this! I'm not a climber but I've learnt how to deal with fear of falling and failure in my career. Absolutely awesome.

I've had a number of people tell me they applied some of the lessons to their non-climbing life. Thanks for the comment!

I love Don's way of overcoming fear. We set ourselves up for fear by focusing on external things that are out of our control. The problem at hand or the next move is what we can control. By focusing their we overcome fear.

Same here! I know for me this was a big thing when it comes to sport climbing but I think it's also applicable for fear outside of climbing as well :) Thanks for your comment!

This interview is just amazing. You put into words so many things I have been feeling and not understanding logically since a falling accident. Thank you so much for the explanations and advice.

Really good interview. And what he said about the mindset, it is so true. Also, perfect practice makes perfect - what a really good quote

That’s funny because in espresso lessons by Arno Ilgner he says the biggest learning experiences happen at that moment of failure and he says the opposite. Interesting.
