They’re both British films that take place in low-income, working-class neighborhoods that have sudden moments of violence and and are coming of age stories for the main character like Belfast.
@@davidbow-tie Oh, come on. The "Meantime" comparison is just insane. Bonkers. And stylistically, visually or even the scripts to "Belfast" and "Bloody Kids". The latter has social themes about dislocation, I suppose, but the time scales are so radically different that any comparison is just unhelpful. "Belfast" tells its story across a long time while "Bloody Kids" has the engine of a thriller, with a fugitive, race-against-time plot and mistaken identity. It's like saying that "Citizen Kane" and "Superman" are the same because they both feature newspapers. I mean, it's ridiculous.
He’s been overdue an Oscar for years! Hope he wins one for this masterpiece!
😍 I love Kenneth Branagh
Stories of the past will always inspire new writers.
Ah the movies within the movie- Branagh’s the best at setting a scene.
Jimmy Fallon will host the 94th Academy Awards in 2022
And 7 ppl will watch that shit
Yuck.
@@pam0626 I Wish Kevin Hart or Chris Rock will host the Academy Awards?
I hope Jamie Dornan gets an Oscar nod.
I thought he was going to talk about the films that belfast is derivative of, like Kes (1969), Bloody Kids (1980), Meantime (1983), or Roma (2018)
Bloody Kids or Meantime?
That's a stretch.
