Just wanted to mention that I decided to prune back some branches harder, back to the first Y as I have limited space in my greenhouse. The final pruning may reflect those decisions. 👍
Thank you so much for this very clear video. Finally I know what to do. I do have to water the Brugmansia during the winter, right? One cup of water every month?
You are welcome. You can let the brug go completely dormant and not water but it should be in a dark area that does not freeze. If you want to keep it actively growing then you will need to water
Hey there. Another great video. You mentioned heated green house. What kind of heater are you using in there? I have an electric heater but always worries about a power outage when things get cold.
Thanks for the video,I am in Abbotsford Bc just cut mine back today but I think I might have cut off the y and I put cutting into dirt, should I put them in water ,and when do you start to sell them and what do you charge per plant
Not really, it basically has to grow again until it forks, depending on the variety, some fork readily some don’t. It can delay anywhere from a few weeks to the entire growing season.
EXCELLENT tutorial! Thanks so much!
welcome!

Excellent thank you
Thanks for the video!
Great tutorial! I don’t have a greenhouse, do they require light while in dormancy?
no

its an oil filled electric heater.
Hi. Great video, thanks. Should you put the cuttings in water in a cool dry place?
if you want them to root they need to be in water in a warm place, cool will delay rooting.
I'll do that, thank you.

Yes, always cuttings in water until you see roots, then into soil. I sell cuttings anywhere between $5-$20 depending on variety.
Will the blooms be the same color as the parent plant (from the cuttings)?
Yes they will
I keep my Brugmansia in the garage. The temperature is right but it is not dark. Should I water the plant?
Depends, if it starts loosing its leaves let it go dormant, if you find it’s still trying to grow give it occasional water.. but beware root rot.
If I prune by deleting all dead branches after winter. What fertilizer do I need to make sure it grow again
I always use a 20-20-20 on my Brugmansia, every other watering. They are heavy feeders
You say it will stall development for the next year if you prune it back below the fork. Do you know by how much?

How big is your pot?
i have them now in 15 gallon pots but root prune them every second year.
Can you prune during the winter?
not recommended unless kept dry.
