- Steam Next Fest is always full of too many demos spread out of too little time - so I dove into February Next Fest in 2024 with the goal of bringing some of the best upcoming games strategic and tactical titles to the channel. From 4x to turn-based tactics to colony management, and including some games that I wouldn't normally consider to fit the bill, there's some good stuff right around the corner!

Sounds like you've done better than me in this Next Fest. I just went for the stuff Steam recommended for me, and the vast majority of it was complete jank.

So far mostly just really impressed with Millennia - even with just the demo, it feels like the most fun 4x in maybe 20 years - and 20 years ago, I was a kid so that stuff has the benefit of nostalgia.
I didn't like Faraway Lands as much as you - maybe I just didn't give it enough of a chance but it seemed pretty basic to me.
Will be trying The Tribe Must Survive and Oddsparks next based on this video
Annihilate the Spance is my favourite of this current Next Fest.
Unfortunately, this seems like a pretty weak next fest. None of these games look bad by any standard. I just couldn't find any demos I was really thrilled about 😔
Shapez 2 and Godsworn are the highlight of this Next fest for me. Even though the easy AI of Godsworn was to hard to win. I really disliked Stormgate with the lanes

None were that interesting this time, are you planning to start a series anytime soon again?
Really struggling engaging with content at the moment. Honestly started watching the Planet zoo LP, and as a result have stayed to watch many others. Even became a member, but it has been so long since I watched all the videos religiously. I know things have been very difficult, but so many LP’s just end without an actual conclusion, and I don’t play these type of games, so months of reviews and upcoming lists are not something I am going to click on. It is really hard because when the content is good… it is soooo good, but right now… it is just not for me, and even if a LP started tomorrow, I would struggle to trust it wouldn’t just disappear 😢

Crown wars was actually on my wishlist until i pkayed the demo....i though it played really badly, the voice acting was awful too.
I think this nextfest is pretty disappointing. The games aren’t as appealing

backpack battles is pretty good for like 10h, even tho it looks like ass

Only crown wars looked interesting. The rest looked like they were made by toddlers for toddlers. Wtf we had better dos games like 30 years ago.
