    For many years we have been obsessed with the climbing method.
    In our journey bringing a climbing system to market that was both ultralight and ultra compact we discovered Saddle Hunting.
    The Saddle Hunters quickly adapted our climbing step into an additional role as a Ring of Steps. Necessity caused this as there was no options on the market to be used as a Ring of Steps.
    Although many appreciated the climbing step in its additional role, many did not.
    Side pressure was the biggest concern with comfort a close second.
    In 2022 we began creating a step specifically designed to be used as a Ring of Steps. This step would address both extreme side pressure and also add comfort.
    The Platform Step was a huge hit as a Ring of steps and as well as added in conjunction to a platform.
    It was actually in response to our manufacturer insisting we try it as a climbing step that we gave it a try for climbing.
    We were blown away by the performance. So much so that we have discontinued the Apex Step for climbing!
    In attempting to create the perfect climbing step we discovered the Ring of Steps.
    After much feedback we created the perfect step for the Ring of Steps.
    While attempting to create the perfect Ring Step we created a near perfect step for climbing!
    Funny how that works...
    Thank you, Jesus!

    Yes, I think I had the last closer than I’ve had it before, I’ve only got to use them 4 times this year and haven’t had any trouble till last night. I will keep a check on the website so I can order another one. I love the steps though!! Thank you!!

    I had to cut the ratchet strap off of the tree on my ring of steps yesterday afternoon. I was going to order a new one but every time I try it says the website doesn’t exist.

      We just changed hosting accounts today. It should be back up tomorrow or Monday. You have to remember to keep the last step not to close to the ratchet ... it creeps closer as you tighten and prevents you from opening the ratchet.... I apologize you experienced this.

      @@BullmanOutdoorsthe site is finally up. I’m going to order 2 that way I have a backup on hand. Thank you!! I saw the video where you talked about getting the step too close. That was not the problem I encountered. I was able to fully open the handle and the bar went into the slot so that the cylinder would release but it never would release. I didn’t have anything to stick under the ratchet to pry it lose or to turn the cylinder myself. I’m going to stick a screwdriver and small pair or channel lock pliers in my pack. Thank you again, I love the steps!!

      We just got the bugs ironed out from the change. You can put in an order whenever you'd like. Thanks for your patience

    Why does the rope work for the climbing step but not for the ring of steps? Side pressure issue? Seems like you'd want more stability for your climbing method then when your safely hanging from your saddle.
    I havent tried a ring of steps but only because I dont want to deal with a rachet strap. I get in tight to buck beds in Michigan and don't have much room for error.

      When you have multiple steps around the tree on one strap it let's them slide down... only one step behaves much different on a single strap than does 2 even. I understand about the noise but tbh I believe if you take a lil extra time you can make the ratchet as quiet as any other noise you will be making by putting pressure on the parts that click.

    If I recall, the strap-on Ameristeps usually don’t shift quite as much as my old rope steps but in testing on various tree barks what have you found so far in comparing the Amstel with the strap and buckle?

    • @BullmanOutdoors
      @BullmanOutdoors  Рік тому +1

      The amsteel or rope attachments had more movement on all the other steps than did straps. It was a tradeoff for a ton of weight savings, nearly 2 lbs on 12 steps I believe. It is looking like the Amsteel performs better on all trees somehow with the Platform Step. I'm not certain what makes this so but I am very happy about it! I will be doing more testing and filming as I go.

    Platform Ring of Steps- Build Your Own Package do you sell a amsteal strap that can support all 6 steps with one strap?

    • @BullmanOutdoors
      @BullmanOutdoors  Рік тому

      We only recommend using the HD ratchet for a Ring of Steps. Amsteel will result in more movement than ideal.

      @@BullmanOutdoors I plan on buying some steps in the future who ever creates a amsteal strap that can hold 6 steps is going to make alot of money in the future.

    What is the difference between the 2023 version and the 2024 version?

    • @BullmanOutdoors
      @BullmanOutdoors  Рік тому +4

      The platform step for climbing is the same step we use for the Ring of steps. The only difference is we are now offering it for climbing. It wasn't actually designed for climbing but was a happy accidentel discovery!
