One interesting thing about this game is the virtual cameras and the ability to switch cameras and what is displayed and recorded on the external monitor when playing.VTOL VR is one of my favorite VR experience, my favorite flight simulator and one of my favorite video game overall. Piloting a jet fighter with your "hands" (the controllers) and interact directly with the elements is just mind blowing. It's so natural and precise. The virtual joystick is precise to the sub millimeter. More than many physical joysticks. And the ability to turn your head and look all around you is just a must in flight simulators. I never enjoyed a flight simulator so much.VR is the cutting hedge of PC gaming. It has been released first for PC gamers that supposedly already have a gaming PC. A gaming PC is a long term investment but it really worth it. You are always on the top of new gaming trends. When the Vive has been released I already had a decent gaming PC. Not because I am rich but because I built it many years ago and upgraded it on a regular basis. My case is more than 10 years, power supply 6 years and so … I change motherboard/CPU every 4 years and GPU too. So overall I spend only something like 200 or 300€ per year on my PC to maintain it at the top. I could spend less and still have a decent machine but my budget is fine to me regarding what a gaming PC can bring to you, like premium VR experience that wasn't expected but only gaming PC have enough power to provide a serious and convincing VR experience for now. And when experiences like this will become more mainstream PC gamers will still be on the lead. PC gaming is such a rich experience if you really appreciate video games at their real value. A gaming PC is a good investment for actual and future games. Those who are not interested in VR can also experience 4K resolution and above gaming experience. I experience both, VR and 4K gaming so my gaming rig worth its price. Many people already have a VR capable gaming PC but a few have a VR headset. This potential market is not saturated yet so VR headset manufacturers already have many potential immediate customers right now.And for those who don't have a VR ready or even a basic gaming PC you can go for it right now because it's not only for VR but for a whole premium entertainment experience. The PC will bring you much more than VR and the VR you'll get by far the best experience you can have. You can build your machine part by part. You don't have to spend a lot at once. The first time you have to buy everything to get a complete PC but after that you only have to change some components to get a brand new PC and not the complete machine. People that don't have PCs are always complaining of many things. There's not sufficient 4K content to buy a 4K screen. They don't have a PC so they can't experience VR. If they had an HTPC, finding 4K content for a 4K TV would not be a problem at all and so on... That's why I have a gaming PC since the late 90's. Because it worth every single penny spent in. The proof again with VR that wasn't expected 3 years ago. I have the HTC Vive for 2 years now and I played hundreds hours of so many VR games. On Steam you have new VR games almost everyday. I bought it and I play VTOL VR since its first release when it had only… the VTOL jet and not the fighter yet. I have seen this game growing and I am glad to see it getting more and more accomplished and getting more and more audience. Nobody in the mainstream gaming press talk about independent VR games like this. The price tag for VR headsets is not so high when you look at some premium racing wheels, HOTAS, crazy multi-screen rigs, or even other devices like flagship smartphones that can cost above 1000$. Most of retailers can offer financing solutions so if you really want a VR headset, which is a technological marvel, the price tag is not a real problem. Even the Vive is a good investment. I already consider mine as amortized and I will probably upgrade to the Pro before the end of the year to get the best resolution possible. I play sim racing a lot and VR is just perfect for that. When you play Assetto Corsa or Project Cars 2 in VR you never want to go back on flat screen anymore. The same for flight simulators. I will sell or give my first Vive to some my relatives or sell it on eBay. Maybe you will find one for cheap. A budget gaming PC can be sufficient to "feed" the gen 1 Vive. My old Radeon R9 290X was doing the job perfectly with the Vive gen 1. But my actual rig (CPU Ryzen 1700X - GPU Vega 64) is hungry and asks for more detailed VR experience so I will definitely buy the Vive Pro and push crazy super-sampling on top of that :-). Honestly ive been watching drewski for over a year now and i never realized that he had only so many subs. I thought he had atleast 2 mil. Hes amazing, he deserves more than that amount.
This game is pretty much worth the Rift if you are into simulators. For me, it's got just the right balance of realism vs silliness. You feel like a competent pilot knowing intimately how to control every aspect of your plane while at the same time jamming out to Danger Zone. A must purchase for any jet-sim+vr enthusiast!

Sims are really where VR shines. I haven't done any flight sim stuff with mine, I got it for racing sims. Lemme tell you, you're IN that car with a VR headset. I'm starting to slowly get into more flight stuff (War Thunder right now, something I've played off and on for years), I really need to try flying in VR.

I swear all of the enemies have main character mode activated. Their engines never stall, G-forces have no effect, and its like all they have to do to dodge missiles is complete a quick-time event.

the quality in videos has gone up a tremendous amount and you're playing games that really fit your niche. I think that's why there's such an influx of subs. I've seen it before in smaller content creaters. Unfortunately what tends to happen is they try to explore out of their niche and the quality drops because of a lack of experience. A caret representing the target will move down the line towards the box. The end of the line is the maximum range, once it goes down into the box it has the highest probability of a kill.
Set the Sidewinders/IRIS-T to headtracking on the equipment screen on an MFD. You'll be able to use the HMCS to look at a plane and lock the heatseakers.
Really puts into perspective how flying a fighter in air to air combat is more like a chess game rather than how it's represented in pop media or games like ace combat.

2021 is the year Oculus Quest 2 brings a lot of new people into VR including me and several of my friends. VTOL VR was one of the first games I got.
