The air ride suspension really helps in the low setting for people who have joint or knee problems getting in and out of the truck. #1 feature in the truck market anywhere .
Glad you liked it, thanks! I thought the American brands were finally starting to import some of their large trucks overseas, I swear I saw an episode of Top Gear with the F-150 Raptor.
Here in my town the 2019 Ram Limited fully loaded is $65k before all the rebates and after rebates its $60k and when the 2020 start coming in rebates will put the truck around $55k to $57k.
Pickup trucks are one of the most highly marked-up vehicles on the market, there's always incentives and promotions on them. No one's going to be paying close to MSRP for this, but it's the benchmark we use to determine price when comparing to the competition.
I have an air suspension 2020 Ram 1500 with every option. Mine also has the new divided tailgate and Ram Boxes. Mine has the 2 tone black and saddle brown interior which is the best looking interior in any truck. I love it and it is truly the Rolls Royce of trucks!
I have a 2019 RAM Laramie 4x4 version with the same color options, but mine has a foldable consul that allows the front seat to turn into a bench seat! I just bought a tonneau cover for it and it came with a spray-in bed liner, tie down rails and beefy 20x10" rims (XD 302), two package and mud/snow tires. I plan on getting running boards for it next.
Yes we’ve mentioned this in other comments, it seems a Uconnect update is required to add this option, something that wasn’t done on this press vehicle when we had it.
LOL you’re a champ there. Thought you said you wouldn’t watch my content anymore because I’m super mean, now you’re trolling through the comments looking for drama 👍🏻
If I am not mistaken, you cannot activate the front camera on this truck - like when pulling into a parking spot to see distance to obstacle. On my 2018 f150 platinum, press the camera button and can activate front camera. Comes in handy and I use it a lot. Test drove the 2019 RAM Limited two days ago - was nice. Differences include what I just mentioned, massage seats (stated in video), driving modes, and maybe some more. None were deal breakers. A little concerned about the 6 recalls listed on consumer reports - some of them serious. My f150 has a noisy twin panel moonroof and I’d like to know if any 2019 RAM owners have any comments about the moonroof and road noise, rattling. Great video - thank you. And if you can activate the front camera while moving forward, please let me know how! Quick update: the Ram limited I drove also did not have power adjusting steering wheel. This matters if you like having the wheel adjust with the memory positions.
I think it was possible to activate the front camera, might be a second button press. Any time I'm with these large pickups and use a drive-thru for my morning coffee I throw on the 360 camera to make sure I don't curb the wheels.
In the infotainment under the “controls” menu there is a button for the running board, it sure if that would have worked for going through the car wash but maybe.
It didn’t, we mentioned we found that option but it will only allow you to turn them on automatic, or disable them. It isn’t the worst, but both Ford and GMC have options to keep them open during ultra-low speeds for washing. Might even be something Ram can add as a software update!
I just avoid the city all together with a truck like this. Had to bring it into Montreal for an event, hated trying to find my way through narrow streets and alleys.
What are you guys talking about? I live in the city and I have never had a problem driving my dad's F-150. I even park downtown occasionally in an underground parking lot. Sure, I fuss for a minute, but it's not to hard.

We did look thoroughly through the Uconnect system and did not find that option. As mentioned in the video we only had options to automatically deploy them on door open, or disable the running boards.
Far as I understand, the electric assist only comes on at stops when engine shuts off, it kicks on and runs all the electronics like A/C, heat, radio then helps it take off mildly, then shuts off
I believe you're correct, FCA has been marketing it as a mild-hybrid system. Just a small setup that most probably wont notice, but still one we'd like to be able to test out on the show.
i loved this truck so much i traded in my 19 f-150 limited that burnt oil like crazy....great review and my truck has a side step on the drivers side tailgate to jump in the box..
The power running boards can be stored and not used when you open the doors, that settings is in the settings in the infotainment center for the vehicle. Through the control option you can manually deploy the running boards for when you are in park mode only.. It will automatically close when it's put in gear.
I just put my order in last week for a limited one. Same color as yours. The ram boxes, colored bumper, bigger fuel tank and the deplorable side bumper step.
I saw this truck at the International Builders Show in Las Vegas and bought one one the way home. The perfect luxury vehicle with a bed instead of having you cargo in the cabin with you. We bought it to replace my wife’s Mercedes M class.
I think a lot of people are going to replace SUVs for something like this. It was a seriously nice ride with plenty of luxury to go around! Congrats on the purchase!
I agree 100%, especially when we look at the also-new-for-2019 Chevrolet/GMC product that feels more like a mild update than a complete overhaul. Personally I still like the interior of the Ford F-150 Limited/Platinum, but the RAM in either Laramie Longhorn or Limited really takes it to another level in terms of quality and craftsmanship. I hope we'll see a shift in interior design for the next-generation Ford, as GM has shown us they don't really care with their newest trucks.
The Ram 1500 was up a solid 7.2% in sales volume over last, which is actually huge since everyone else was within 1% margin or had a strong negative sales. I strongly believe the ram will quickly take second in terms of sales, and will still be the only one with a proper system for handling start/stop, which is a MAJOR complaint in the other trucks (most don't like having to turn it off every time they get in so they firmware hack it to disable it). All in all, FCA made a huge risk financing this new ram, with how tight their budget is right now, and clearly those Italians know what they are doing when it comes to appearance and comfort.
Is that YTD sales for the Ram 1500 or just for the month? I expect to see an increase any time a completely new generation is launched, especially in the pickup truck segment. GM was a little late getting their 2019s into showrooms, but I'm thinking we'll see an increase in Silverado & Sierra sales for 2019 also.
@@PRNTestDrive Here is the source I got the numbers from, but I've seen a few other youtubers who had the same numbers so. www.tfltruck.com/2019/01/year-wrap-up-what-is-the-best-selling-truck-in-2018-here-you-go/
That's certainly great news for FCA, I'm sure they're happy with those numbers so far. I'll definitely be curious to see what happens at the end of 2019, specifically with the GMC Sierra.
@@PRNTestDrive With just how much bulkier GM made both the Silverado and the Sierra, people are really having a rough time justifying it. Especially since the redesign actually hurt MPG numbers a bit.
Right in line with the competition! The 2019 Ford F-150 Platinum we did a couple months back had an MSRP of $84,300 CAD. We've got both top-end Chevrolet/GMC trucks in January, so we'll see how they stack up to the RAM.
Only reason it’s that high is because it’s in Canada. It’s about 15k-20k cheaper in the US. Maybe even more since all the dealers have major discounts.
People who get the limited don't use their trucks to tow at all. Unless your only towing 7k pounds. Get a Laramie with the 3.92 axel and the 5.7 hemi fully loaded you will still have the high 9k or just under 10k pounds of available towing. I have a 2021 built similar and it's great. You have all of the luxury that you could want and comfort without having a joke tow rating like the limited
@@GlenWFord-ps8ts no but Ram and Chrysler for that matter always seems to score low on quality surveys. But you are right - I read so much stuff about all of them not sure what to buy and I don't like Toyota's truck. They don't give a crap if they update the Tundra or not. They could really challenge the big 3 if they wanted to do so.
@@311hitwall Agreed. In April we`ll find out if the new revamping has been successful. Not big on Toyota. Test drive the lot and go from there I guess for me.
I am convinced that vehicles are so complicated now that they are all going to have problems... the more there is the more there is to break. That being said, I had a 2016 Ram that was flawless for 35k miles (when I traded it in) and my dad is on his 2nd ram, it just rolled over 40k miles and zero issues. Not a lot of miles, sure... but I liked my 2016 enough to buy a 2019.
I don't know if is the same with the ram but with my Chrysler 200 2015 when I turn on the car with the remote and it was winter the heat seats turns on automatically
The option for that is on the 2019 Ram also! We're driving the Rebel this week and it will turn on the heated wheel and driver's seat when the temperature is around zero, it's really handy since it happens on remote start and regular start too.
That is correct, I made sure my gear ratio was 3.92 before I purchased my 2019 RAM and it does feel like it has more pep than the 3.21 that I test drove.
Please see the 65 other comments we’ve replied to about this. I’m also sure I’ve pinned one of these comments to try and avoid more ‘help’ on this matter.
Nile, great review! I’m debating between the Ram Limited and the F150 Platinum or Limited. You’ve reviewed both and I’m curious which truck you’d recommend?
Easily the Ram in terms of features and comfort! Since both we featured had an MSRP of $83-84k I felt the Ram had more going for it, although the F-150 had that $5,600 diesel. You miss a couple features on either truck, and easy access to the bed definitely goes to the Ford, but at the top-end trim I was thoroughly impressed with Ram.
Good to know! We've got another 2019 RAM booked in January, I'll see if we can find the same option. We had a number of false emergency stops with this truck when backing it into our garage.
Great Review! Just traded in my 2015 ford lariat fx4 for a 2019 Limited and wow what a difference. Hopefully it is more reliable then my f150. Had nothing but problems with that truck (iwe system). Have had many compliments already on the limited.
Glad to hear you like the Ram! We've heard about some of the problems F-150 owners have experienced over the years on different forums, so hopefully you have better luck with this one! We've started seeing more of the 2019 models on the road now!
Iwe 4wd hubs? Should've been fixed under warranty. I hear it's been an issue on the f150 for over a decade. Luckily my 2010 never had an issue with it. I think they either fail early or last the life of the vehichle. Still rockin and rolling with 195,000 miles so far.
@@1WHITELIGHTNING82 I had to get rid of my 2017 f150. So many problems, bad dealerships basically couldnt figure out the problems and told me to deal with it. Regional manager said just take it to another dealership (I went to multiple), got a lawyer and got a small settlement, got rid of it and will never have a Ford again.
It looks like RAM is working on a barn-door style tail gate, but it’s important to note that the GMC Sierra and Ford F-150 each have easy-step options for their trucks.
@@PRNTestDrive there is a bumper step that extends from the bumper as a dealer installed option, at least in the states, would assume it's the same in Canada.
I'm sure it's been said but there is an option and you connect to put down the side steps. I personally have been waiting for a premium luxurious truck to come out since they got rid of the Cadillac EXT. As weird as it is I was between this and a Tesla Model 3, the model 3 had one of the cheapest in Interiors out of a car that I have been in a while. I just put the down payment on my truck today and should pick it up tomorrow I'm excited,
Congrats! We've heard that people aren't impressed with the interior quality of Tesla vehicles. The RAM definitely sets the benchmark in this segment though, we've driven both the F-150 and GMC Sierra/Chevrolet Silverado now and found the RAM clearly stood out. The Cadillac Escalade EXT was an interesting experiment, I had the chance to drive the Chevy Avalanche for a week a decade ago.
I hope it was worth the wait! Definitely an F-150 slayer as far as we're concerned. Compared to the 2019 Platinum Diesel we did a couple months back, we'd easily take this RAM, especially since they're both about the same MSRP.
*The running boards do have a "stay open" feature to deploy. *Every Ram with wood is geniune. *Ram with e-Torque will certainly help with fuel economy, and it's auto start/stop is fully defeatable. *Ram does offer deployable bed side steps. *There has been a software update for the 12" UConnect system.
@@PRNTestDrive Hmm very possibly. I had an intermittent screen freezing issue with my 12" and the over-air update fixed all bug concerns. But yes, long as the vehicle is running, you can deploy or retract the steps without opening the door. I totally get your point about the car washing scenario tho. That would be a pain to not have that feature.
I think it would look pretty nice especially with this colour. We have the 2019 RAM Rebel in January, but I believe it has flat black bumpers for 'sportiness'.
If I could go back in time... My wife and I purchased a 2019 RAM 1500 Limited in January. Had I known it would be this much of a disaster I would have never purchased it. I've been driving RAM 2500 Cummins trucks for work for the last 9 years and would buy one in a heartbeat, but this new 1500?? Never again. The 12" Uconnect system uses proprietary software that is crucial to certain functions within the truck. Music, settings, camera, and phone to name a few. This system is CONSTANTLY failing. Took it to a RAM dealer, they told me they can't touch it because it's proprietary. WHAT? It's in YOUR RAM vehicle!! Called Uconnect, they told me to take it to the RAM dealer. Little did they know I was still sitting in the parking lot of the RAM service center. The Uconnect CS rep asked which dealer I went to, called the service dept while I was sitting there and low and behold, nothing they can do. I was told that the system has to "update" through satellite and had no idea when that would take place. I've had the system fail to boot many times and it still has bugs every day. When failure to boot happens, the screen stays blank no matter how often you restart the vehicle. Then voila, it just starts working out of the blue. This is just one of many issues I've had personally with this truck. Problem is, I cannot get any dealer to take it in for significant documentation and it fails to fulfill the lemon law. The other issue I had was fitment problems with virtually every panel on the truck. I didn't see these issues as the truck was new so I wasn't exactly looking. But, when we purchased the truck it was covered in snow. This was still my bad, but really??? The rear bumper was lower on the passenger side by 3/4 of an inch. The front fenders and hood were off a mile. The passenger door was misaligned as well. The very first thing I actually noticed was the chrome molding around the passenger rear door was coming off as it's stuck on with double sided tape, and the drivers side molding is also misaligned and coming off. I've looked at dozens of other 1500's and none of them seem to have all of these issues. YES, the truck was new and these are problems out of the manufacture as none of the bolts/hardware holding the panels had been touched or moved. I took it to a local autobody shop that has done work for me on a couple of Porches we own and he even stated the best way to fix the misalignment issue was to unbolt virtually the entire front end and move it to the drivers side almost an inch. In addition, the speaker used for talking on the phone via bluetooth also sounds like it's "blown". It distorts enough that we have to turn the volume down to try and understand whomever we are speaking to. The fuel mileage is NOTHING like is stated on the sticker. No matter the circumstances, even on flat highways with tail winds I get less than 19 MPG at posted limits. I could go on, but the fact is that my personal experience with this truck has been horrible. I have plenty of video during Uconnect failure and dozens of pictures have been taken so please don't patronize me that I'm making this up. I realize this is not typical, just stating what I'VE experienced. So, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do your research before purchasing and check everything before you buy. This was my mistake for assuming that new vehicles are less likely to have issues, but paying as much for this truck as I did...? Not worth it at all.
I've heard of trucks sometimes being dropped off the carrier truck too hard causing body panels to be jarred. I had that on my brand new 1995 F150. Only one side of the tailgate would latch and the passenger door was miss aligned. Hope things work out for you on your truck. I bought the 2020 bighorn and love the truck but have a ticking on start up sometimes. I'm hoping it's not a sign of things to come. But what a great ride
While I’ve personally experienced issues with Uconnect on used vehicles, the problem is more widespread than just Chrysler. All the oems are shifting towards the screen replacing all functionality, and that’s a serious problem when that unit stops working.
We've replied to this type of comment at least 20 times, the Uconnect software that was shipped on this truck did not have that option, but it was something added with a software update that this truck did not receive.
@@PRNTestDrive Cars are heavily taxed in Norway. And gas cost about $7.5/gallon. Edit. On closer check of USD vs NOK the price is about 180-185.000 USD fully loaded.
We’ve had a lot of comments about this. One commenter said a recent software update to Uconnect added this feature which wasn’t present on our press vehicle.
Pretty much, right! I'll admit I didn't understand this whole luxury truck thing a couple years ago, I even did an episode on the 2017 Ford F-150 XLT and talked about how silly it seemed. But then I started driving these fully loaded trucks and it was like waking up for the first time. This is a seriously nice vehicle, and for the price you really are getting German luxury SUV amenities with pickup truck capabilities.
Brake assist in reverse scared the heck out of me. It essentially slams on the brakes so you don't 'back into something' even when it's a lil curb your rear can sit over. It can be shut off though
It’s not our favourite either, in fact we did a video in December 2017 of a Jeep Grand Cherokee with the system and tested it on ourselves and some objects. We had the rear brake assist engage twice when backing into the garage during our week with this truck, and again last week with the 2019 RAM Rebel.
They should have update for that. I own a 2019 ram1500 my brother owns 2018 ram1500 and a 2017 Grand Cherokee for the mom. All have the backup sensors and none hit the brakes unless something will actually hit the bumper of the car
Very good review one thing you forgot to mention with Dodge vs Ford 150 if you get the smaller Ford engine 4 cylinder or the 6 cylinder both are turbocharged that's nice but as you know in Canada the price off premium fuel that you are forced to use with a turbo there's no more fuel economy at 6$ or more the gallon for premium high octane gas vs regular fuel at some time even lower than 5$ the gallon mean at every fill up your saving 30$ + with a Dodge standard V8 non turbo ! If I would by a F150 it would have to be their V8, 5 liter I wouldn't touch a small 4 cylinder revving like crazy from a turbo even if it gives me almost 100 HP more !
I don't believe the regular EcoBoost engines require premium fuel, unfortunately the next F-150 we have booked in July is the new Limited with the 450 horsepower Raptor engine, and I believe premium was required for it when we drove the Lincoln Navigator last year.

PRN_TestDrive >>> on paper, and on first impression, RAMs appear to have some outstanding features: a unique interior, innovative suspension (air), and a reliable engine (Cummins), HOWEVER, when it comes to reliability and longevity ([2] two subjects you've avoided like the plague), RAM is the worst of the bunch: RAMs are notorious for having serious transmission issues early on ~30k ~60k, the fastest rusting bodies and frames and countless other issues. This permanently excludes RAM as an option for me, no matter how "great" the interior is, no matter how "awesome" the suspension is, no matter how "impressive" the torque specs.
Good job giving your own comment a thumbs up first of all. Reliability is something we can’t accurately talk about when we only have the truck for a week. If you watch any videos and people talk about reliability on any new vehicle they’re either taking information for previous model years, or going with some random forum post on an unknown website. I could spend an entire episode talking about the problems people have reported with GM, Ford, or Chrysler transmissions, or all the complaints from F-150 owners about engine problems they’ve had with EcoBoost. The problem with that is I have no way to authenticate these complaints, I go with what I observe and experience during my time with any vehicle we feature, and in the rare opportunities where we get long-term vehicles I can dive into more comprehensive ownership complaints.

I believe you can option out the chrome mirrors, but as for the gear selector you’re always going to have people who dislike the method. The GMC crossovers we drove this year used buttons, I forget if the 2019 Sierra does also, but we have it booked in a couple months.
I'm hoping I can get an e-Torque Hemi to take on our test loop to compare with this. Unfortunately the next RAM I have is the Rebel, and it has the same engine as this, and we'll be getting the new Heavy Duty once it's available, but that won't compare unfortunately.
*people shopping for a truck 30yrs ago* - look, it goes, stops and hauls stuff...I'm sold. *people today buying a truck* - If it doesn't have a powered tailgate and an infotainment that does absolutely everything then it not worth it. I should be babied and pampered whilst driving a truck.
And that's why RAM sells the 1500 Classic and Tradesman trims. Trims like the Limited aren't for those who actually need a truck for work, and unless Ford, Chrysler, and GM stop making a no-frills work truck, there's no need to get upset that they also make a top-end version.
PRN_TestDrive I’m aware of that. Just saying that today’s standard for a truck has to have all the amenities and options and people forgot what having a truck meant. People aren’t satisfied anymore. Yeah I would love a Ram limited, but do I need it? Absolutely not.

My '75 has power steering and that's it. Manual brakes, no air and a 4-speed. That's back when a truck was a truck and honestly back in the 70's was probably considered prissy compared to the trucks of the 40's and 50's.

Good point on the drivers too lazy to clear off their vehicles. They're also the ones too lazy to turn their headlights on when it's snowing! I watched a lot of videos on Reddit this past year related to the headlight issue. A lot of manufacturers provide the option for the lights to turn on automatically when the wipers are on, but far too few people do it on their own
Then the video we just published this morning might be the pickup truck for you! The 2021 GMC Canyon comes in at about $43,000 CAD and has a lot of the same capabilities needed from a truck without the sticker shock of these luxury ones.
Thats a nice way to ruin your success in a highly competitive market, ask an unreasonable price.Thats a pity because the car is solid, convincing and goodlooking, but the pricing is insane .
But so is the competition, the Ford F-150 Platinum we featured a couple months back was $2k more if I recall, granted it had a $5,300 engine upgrade, but also wasn't the top-end Limited trim. We've got both top-end Chevrolet and GMC trucks in the new year, I believe the Sierra Denali we have booked has a similar MSRP to this.

It does take some getting used to, but now I prefer it to any other shifter I have owned. Personal preference of course, but I did end up liking it very much on my 2016 and will on my 2019 as well.
So it has the very expensive problem filled Dodge air suspension which is great for these reviews but look out when this gets a little aged. Please Ford, don’t go this way.
Easy way is to avoid it by skipping it on the options list. Any air suspension needs to be serviced, luckily RAM has offered it for a while now, so curious buyers can always look at enthusiast forums to see what owners have experienced with their own trucks.
@@PRNTestDrive would I be able to get the air suspension serviced living on the island of Cyprus where they are no official dodge dealerships? Thanks in advance
A Uconnect software updated was not performed on this vehicle at the time of filming, and would add the ability to deploy the running boards.
I made a test drive in Germany a few days ago. And fell in love immediately! Bought a Limited 2 days later. Will get in in 2 days. Can't wait.
Have fun! I don't expect many of these are on German road, it'll be unique!
Thank you for calling out people who are too lazy to clear ice off their cars. It's true, that can be dangerous to others.
I know I went on a bit of a rant, but it’s important even though I imagine all our viewers already know it.
The air ride suspension really helps in the low setting for people who have joint or knee problems getting in and out of the truck. #1 feature in the truck market anywhere .
Agreed! The running board help quite a lot too, as we experienced with today's episode on the RAM Rebel.
I freaking love this truck. If I ever buy a truck, it'll be this one.
Same here! It really has set the new benchmark.
Please take good care of this truck as I can only afford a used truck Ram Limited.
We've spotted a few of them on the road, the Limited seems to be a popular trim! Hopefully you'll be able to pick up a nice example down the road.
Just buy it! Worth it! Only 900ish a month
This is the best review on RAM I have seen, real shame we don't get trucks like this in the UK
Glad you liked it, thanks! I thought the American brands were finally starting to import some of their large trucks overseas, I swear I saw an episode of Top Gear with the F-150 Raptor.
@@PRNTestDrive The best we get is a Ford Ranger Raptor with a 2.0 turbo diesel, not quite the same, it sucks!
Carlos Mendoza Yeah your probably from USA like me it’s different
Just paid 60,000 or the door 0% for 72 month in Illinois
I just bought a 2019 ram limited. and I got to tell you I love this truck. this is the 3rd ram I have owned and it's the best yet!!
Have you ever had a problem with your ram trucks you had in the pass people say ram is not a good truck
Glad to hear it!
I have an air suspension 2020 Ram 1500 with every option. Mine also has the new divided tailgate and Ram Boxes. Mine has the 2 tone black and saddle brown interior which is the best looking interior in any truck. I love it and it is truly the Rolls Royce of trucks!
Enjoy it!
Glad to hear it, enjoy!
You can keep the running boards open . Command is in the 12 inch uconnect
Yes we’ve mentioned this in other comments, it seems a Uconnect update is required to add this option, something that wasn’t done on this press vehicle when we had it.
Be careful he gets mad if you tell him the truth 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
There is a side step option for the rear bumper.
We did see that on Ram’s site. Not quite as advanced as what Ford and GM are doing though.
PRN_TestDrive true but I’ll Sacrifice that step for much more quality materials in the inside of the cab.
Fair enough! The RAM is easily the new benchmark in this segment, looking forward to testing the Silverado and Sierra this February.
The Ram side step for the bed is a better design. Just kick it out and it's there. That quick, that easy.
PRN_TestDrive ah! My bad, thanks for the correction.
It wouldn't surprise me if I missed the right button though, Uconnect on this screen is nice but there's just way too many menus.
I have that option, you can deploy them for car washes.
Where’s the option for it? As mentioned in our episode we only had the option to automatically deploy them, or turn off the running boards.
I love that these can double as a pickup truck as well as luxury car. City parking is limited. 😅
I just avoid the city all together with a truck like this. Had to bring it into Montreal for an event, hated trying to find my way through narrow streets and alleys.
What are you guys talking about? I live in the city and I have never had a problem driving my dad's
F-150. I even park downtown occasionally in an underground parking lot.
Sure, I fuss for a minute, but it's not to hard.
Great video. Love it. Keep up the good work mate

I did check them out actually! I did a short video on my car based on what I found off his site.
If you go to the infotainment system you can deploy the steps to wash them. Love that truck, looks even better in person it's absolutely beautitul!!!
Great option to add-on to the RAM, congrats on the purchase!
The power running boards can be stored and not used when you open the doors, that settings is in the settings in the infotainment center for the vehicle. Through the control option you can manually deploy the running boards for when you are in park mode only.. It will automatically close when it's put in gear.
That was not our experience with this 2019, even in park the only way we could deploy the running boards was by opening a door.
@@PRNTestDrive hmm that's weird.. I guess there is a difference between the US and CA truck.
Could be!
I just put my order in last week for a limited one. Same color as yours. The ram boxes, colored bumper, bigger fuel tank and the deplorable side bumper step.
Very nice, congrats! This is a sharp colour for this truck too, I really liked the contrast between the red and chrome throughout.
Biggest difference in this new ram versus the Ford and gmc is it’s interior. This truck blows the the others away in quality of material interior.
The center console compartment doors can be a pain in the butt, they love to get change caught in them and you can’t close them.
I can see that being a problem. I made sure to use the change organizer so I didn't lose anything.
I do believe it is the best truck on the road. I love it.
I have the 2019 limited RAM and I traded my Mercedes in for it. It is a great truck!
Nice! The RAM is really setting the new standard for what a luxury pickup truck should have.
Hey! Which Mercedes was yours? The new RAM is a good replacement for luxury cars now? =D

@@danielkeating1713 I agree. The RAM interior is great!
I couldn't click on this one fast enough!
That's how we felt about getting the keys for it! We phoned to get this one back at the start of October.

83K? Good lord.
Mag neto in USA its only 56K
Mag neto My Longhorn Edition has all of the features discussed except 22 inch tires and lift. I paid $65k.
The second he said $83k my eye twitched. I knew it had be in Canadian bucks.
That's true, most won't actually use these trucks to their limits.
How many miles before you start having major issues since it is a Ram? These trucks are so nice you wouldn't want to use them as a truck.
Time will certainly tell, with any new generation of any vehicle there's potential for issues.
About the same as Ford or Chevy. There is no "perfect truck.
@@GlenWFord-ps8ts no but Ram and Chrysler for that matter always seems to score low on quality surveys. I am convinced that vehicles are so complicated now that they are all going to have problems... the more there is the more there is to break.

Also important to remember there are several gear ratios for the ram. The 3.92 would be a lot snappier than the 3.23 that most of them come with.
Good point! So many options on any of these light duty pickup trucks, a lot can factor into overall performance/capabilities.
That is correct, I made sure my gear ratio was 3.92 before I purchased my 2019 RAM and it does feel like it has more pep than the 3.21 that I test drove.

It's been a little while since we featured the RAM, was mirror feature are you referring to? The power folding portion?

I just bought 1 and I luv it
We’re glad to hear it, congrats!
My Samsung works flawlessly with my uconnect in my 19 limited. I think it's an iPhone problem.
Could very well be.
Nope. My Android has a 2 second delay when using UA-cam in my 2020 Ram.
The rear park brake assist feature can be deactivated thru the menu. Its real annoying and I couldn't wait to turn mine off.
@@bkranz-1283 I think mine was just one that they could not sort out the problem from the beginning and when they did the truck was out of warranty.

LOVE LOVE THE TRUCK ONLY THING WANT THEM TO ADD IS A STEP TAIL GATE
It looks like RAM is working on a barn-door style tail gate, but it’s important to note that the GMC Sierra and Ford F-150 each have easy-step options for their trucks.
@@PRNTestDrive there is a bumper step that extends from the bumper as a dealer installed option, at least in the states, would assume it's the same in Canada.
I'm sure it's been said but there is an option and you connect to put down the side steps.
The Cadillac Escalade EXT was an interesting experiment, I had the chance to drive the Chevy Avalanche for a week a decade ago.
the review i was waiting for this is the F150 slayer what a marvellous truck

There is a button to deploy the running board
We've replied to this type of comment at least 20 times, the Uconnect software that was shipped on this truck did not have that option, but it was something added with a software update that this truck did not receive.

Awesome as always. Cheers Nile
Always a pleasure that you like it, thanks!
Amazing truck. GM and Ford have some work to do.
I don’t think either brand was too worried, although GM did have to play catch up
For 80k you should say exactly what the option prices were.
That would have taken a whole video.
@PRNTestDrive Really? Seriously? After 5 years that's why other concern is? I'm on my 3rd truck since I saw this. I'm speechless.
❤️ that truck
So do I! It's a seriously good pickup, and should force Ford and GM to work hard on their own pickups.
The door steps can be control from the radio you can leave it outside or automatic

$83K...wow...In Quebec, you can add 1% luxury tax at purchase for any vehicle over $40K and then for 7 years thereafter at a less than realistic depreciation rate...Plus, in Quebec, the engine displacement additional charge at each annual registration..for a 5.7L that is 1.8L over 3.9L it's another $180.00 per year just to put it on the road....brutal...
That definitely adds up! Also great info too, we've only been in the province for a year and a half now and haven't gotten fully versed on all the taxes and regulations when it comes to registering vehicles. We're hoping to do a video on it sometime in 2019.
@@PRNTestDrive It certainly does, welcome to Quebec! Good idea for a video, registering, purchasing, selling (in and out of province), etc...
Troy Power is the USA after tax it’s about 60K
Troy Power ALSO YOU HAVE MY COUSINS NAME LOL
@@juljasmaharchive In Quebec Canada we're talking 83K + tx (provincial + federal sales taxes) of 14.995% .....that is if you were to pay MSRP, which on 2019 RAMS at this point you shouldn't be due to discounting and Mfg. rebates (the luxury tax in Quebec and engine displacement fees are added at annual registration, brutal). Plus, the Canadian $ is currently tanking.....$1.35 Cdn. per US $....
Beautiful truck 😗
We think so too!
My 96 2500 that Ive owned since new, looks brand new at 23 years and 240.000K on the odometer and it gets worked too. it also gets carefully maintained. If you take care of a Ram truck, they WILL serve you well.
@@supersixjones8905 >>> my bad, a RAM can survive if it's facing babied and only faces the horrible dangers of ascending and descending stacked mall parking lots and ultra-risky speed bumps and humps ;-)
@@supersixjones8905 >>> I'm afraid that the overwhelming evidence contradicts your views. Though every manufacturer has "lemons", Dodge/RAM/whatever is consistent with it's transmission and rust issues. And "good maintenance" can not fix bad engineering.
@@habanero8192My truck has been worked hard since new. I didnt buy a diesel truck to drive to the mall. All I did was state that I take care of it and it takes care of me and Ive NEVER stated that I thought Rams were the best truck, only that I like mine. But thats not good enough for you is it? You have to make a smart ass comment and be a jerk! By the way, the truck I own 1994-1997 12 valve cummins Ram is considered by many experts in the diesel world to be the most dependable diesel pickups ever built and is one of the most sought after used diesel pickups.I dont know why people cant be happy enough liking what they like and letting others do the same. I know Chrysler has a bad reputation for quality, so what? my truck has served me well. Why dont you tell me what you drive so I can talk trash about your rig?
Go Canada! Thanks for viewing in Winter cause that's what matters in Canada! BTW also bought the Big Horn with 6.4 box...Nice!
Very nice! We try to do as much winter testing as we can since we've got that advantage.
@@PRNTestDrive Yea it's somewhat most important to know most one sees on here but usually the average isn't truly getting the whole picture on items cause in Canada it's extreme temperature and blizzards that make things really shine!
HATE the chromed mirros and the stupid shift knob. I wish the had put a steering column shifter instead.
I believe you can option out the chrome mirrors, but as for the gear selector you’re always going to have people who dislike the method. The GMC crossovers we drove this year used buttons, I forget if the 2019 Sierra does also, but we have it booked in a couple months.
Buy a GM.
The F150 does have front sensors
Perhaps in other markets, but not here in Canada.
Ac sucks in summer. My brakes started to sqweek at 9000 mi and my friend started at 4000
I'm picking up the 2019 RAM 2500 Laramie Long Horn tomorrow morning, and we're still in a heat wave here. I'll see if the A/C is strong or not.
I have the 2019 Limited e torque and I average around 14 mph per gallon but i drive 80 mph a lot I'm sure if i slow down my average will go up lol
Oh well....
My non-etorque limited can get 22 on the hiway if i stay at 65 mph or under...the trick is to keep it in eco mode as much as possible
I'm hoping I can get an e-Torque Hemi to take on our test loop to compare with this. Unfortunately the next RAM I have is the Rebel, and it has the same engine as this, and we'll be getting the new Heavy Duty once it's available, but that won't compare unfortunately.
35hFr usually the faster you go the better fuel economy but wtf
@@hammerheartdan6311 so you're complaining about the amount of features that are available on new trucks?? Lol wow. Don't need it? Don't get it, pretty simple. It's always so amusing when people complain about options... They are OPTIONS ffs.
I hear that! I had a loaded 2016 Sport and am getting a loaded 2019 Limited today. That being said, I have 4 old Dodge trucks from the 70's, and my '78 Adventurer is pretty loaded... in that it has air conditioning and cruise with a tilt wheel. My '75 has power steering and that's it. Manual brakes, no air and a 4-speed. That's back when a truck was a truck and honestly back in the 70's was probably considered prissy compared to the trucks of the 40's and 50's.
I know it’s Canadian dollars, but I essentially spit my coffee out when I heard $83,000... vehicles are quite expensive now 🤷♂️
They are! The Ford F-150 Platinum we did was $84,000, and that wasn't even the top trim!
Just the expensive ones 🧐
😂😂
The used market is where its at for these kinds of trucks, get one just off a lease and you'll save $10k or more.
I gave $48,000.00 for my limited. It sticker price was $67,000.00. ram has a 20% off invoice just for the month of June!
It’s all real wood
Good to know! RAM provided a lot of excellent videos and documentation for this truck, but manufacturers almost always skip out on detailing the interior trim materials.
There is manual control for automatic running board on the display to keep them diployed
Please see the pinned comment.
83,000$ are you serious?! 😂😂 that’s like a house! Haha
83k house just eat your money and brains.
83k pickup work and give you money with style
Still $1,000 cheaper than the 2019 F-150 Platinum we featured a couple months ago 😆
Nice not as pretty as my 2014 ram Laramie. This one does not have the ram box. Have Laramie longhorn ordered, is already made. Waiting on it shipped.
Why is a $68,000. truck $83,000. in Canada? Price is USA is About $68,000.
Does not even have the 12” screen.
Which doesn't have the 12" screen?

Right. I suppose you're an expert on it then? Over 52,000 views and over 470 thumbs up, I'd say that's a success.
@@PRNTestDrive hey stupid, I don't need to be an expert as I'm not doing a video. However, as a consumer of this specific product I want to be informed. This isn't the only video I've watched but I've also test driven this vehicle several times. So, I am quite familiar with the features of this vehicle, as are many others in this feed, who know answers to basic questions. The number of views says nothing about his knowledge base it's only an indication of the number of people interested in the vehicle itself.

This is nice but I still love the Denali..
We’ve got the 2019 Denali booked in February! Looking forward to it, we certainly liked the 2018.

Good point on the drivers too lazy to clear off their vehicles. They're also the ones too lazy to turn their headlights on when it's snowing! I've been close to being t-boned many a time by these goofs in bad weather. Even after flashing them with my high beams, they'll look at you like you have 2 heads!
I watched a lot of videos on Reddit this past year related to the headlight issue. A lot of manufacturers provide the option for the lights to turn on automatically when the wipers are on, but far too few people do it on their own
There's a button on the touch screen to deploy the running boards and detract them.
Please see the 200 comments we’ve replied to saying the exact same thing.
Running boards
What about them?
I am sorry it looks like a gmc eouldnt own when they fix all problems with them.then maybe ill consider pne
Fair enough!
I know this truck isn't for me because its 83 grand.
Then the video we just published this morning might be the pickup truck for you! The 2021 GMC Canyon comes in at about $43,000 CAD and has a lot of the same capabilities needed from a truck without the sticker shock of these luxury ones.
more reason to believe there really is a New car Bubble
just waiting to Burst
That’s been something I’ve been reading about for years and years now, very possible.
@@PRNTestDrive you can't even acknowledge people like this, these are people who want everything just handed to them or to put in minimal effort to get great products. It takes some getting used to that’s for sure.
It does take some getting used to, but now I prefer it to any other shifter I have owned. Personal preference of course, but I did end up liking it very much on my 2016 and will on my 2019 as well.
It's 2019. Transmissions are electronically controlled. You don't need a mechanical lever.

There's always good incentives on any pickup truck! Can easy save quite a lot on one. Cheers!
death of the dodge ram
5 years later and they’re still here.
