Cool idea, can def. see how handy of an option this would be.
Probably best to just hand tighten with a screwdriver.

Get a Stern saver or Stern pad and mount the lights to that instead, no drilling in the hull needed

@@SuperRasean how is the stern saver or pad attached to the stern/hull? Glue or epoxy?

@@twelvetwenty-two353 yeah one has like a high strength 3m adhesive pad attached to the back of it the other uses an epoxy, look up some videos on here you'll see both and they both work very well.

I found they make ones for threaded drain plug holes. So no need for drilling new holes. I just ordered one, I’m excited to see how bright it is!

Or you can use 3M 5200 to install them without drilling holes. Thats how I installed my transducer block.

@@TinyBoatNation Ahhh thats a bummer. Like a frame that clips over the led light housing itself right?

nicely done an great walkthrough but i still wouldnt be drilling through my hull of my boat use a 2 part waterproof epoxy based. that will hold againist the pressure of any wake

I’m about to order one to try. I’m mounting a 12” piece of hdpe with 5200 to support my transducer and using spare room beside it for this. My question is are these bright enough to attract baitfish like the submersible ones?

I would have use GROOVE LED Light's myself ( waterproof of course )
IP68 indicates that the level of waterproofing is higher and that you can immerse it in water for a long time.

I just bought a 1980 fjord 21 dc its a small inboarder boat and i want to get underwater lights. Since it was all speeded up and i have no idea about any DIY jobs, i just drill holes and the light will seal by itself no need for any sealing around the lights and i need to connect the wires to where? Battery or what?
