The parts list for these lights and other components listed is beyond outstanding. Thx for taking the time to explain each step of the light setup. Needed to do the same and is very helpful!
Nothing like putting in a lot of time, a lot of careful thought, and a lot of labor into something……wise words for sure. Job well done. Very professional!
Well I don't do alot the social media stuff so I'll miss out on this giveaway. Hats off to your entire boat, very clean well built. New lights look tight on it.
Don't forget I believe your stern/anchor light must be visible 360 degrees, that's why they are elevated pole mounted, for coast guard approval, good looking job on boat
New subscriber, watching all your boat build videos from last year while I'm currently building my own. Picked up a lot of tips, keep up the good work buddy.
I admire how methodical you are. I aspire to use many of your videos as references when I finally get around to my build. Thank you and please continue making informative videos.
We’ll done man! I plan to add lights to my deck also and this was a big help. I’ve seen some lights with a remote but that just seems like another problem at some point. I’m going with the dimmer switch. I subscribed to your channel and looking forward to seeing more of your videos.
I was following you step by step until 9:56, I dont know how to sadr or whatever it is, and without seeing you do it or explain it, I now have to go find another video on that before continuing, I feel like the knowledge to do this is just presumed to be known, but for me it isnt.
I didn't show the soldering because I'm not that good at it yet. I know enough to get it done but not good enough to teach it to others. I'll add a soldering video once I get my own technique solidified.
Absolutely Awesome!!! Loving the new upgrade...you guys are bar none one of the very best out there for jon boat building and upgrades!! God bless you guys! ~Adam~
You connected all your positives together on your strip lighting but I didn’t see what did with your grounds. Can you explain? Thanks! Love your end product….exactly what I am attempting to do.
Great Job... Great Video... I'm looking forward to the next boat build. I picked up a 15 foot valco as a project and I'm rewatching all your videos from the first build to help give me ideas. Thanks again!!!
Building/MOD my boat. Love watching your build on your boat. Great ideas. I store my boat outside (no room). Q: I want to add a solar charger for my batteries (2 - 12v) when I'm not using it. Any suggestions?
Thank you again for great Content. I'm just about complete with my project, but ran into a problem. I can't seem to figure out how to get the light strips to work properly using the dimmer switch. Please advise when possible.
Where are you connecting your negative from The light strip? I’m trying to get my switch to work but wiring the way you mentioned I don’t see where the negative from the light strip goes
Great videos! I see with adding these lights you spliced the positives together into one large wire as opposed to your original compartment lights where you had individual positive wires to a bus bar, so my question is why did you not just run separate positive bus bars for the new lights. which method would you recommend?
It all depends on the application. In some cases it makes sense to join two or three wires into one and in other cases you may use a buss bar to bring several wires to one lead. In the end I use both depending on the situation. Both are effective
Have you had any issues with the lights staying stuck to the surface? I've bought so many led light strips and that 3m adhesive has always let me down. It will stick once to a surface and fall off and never go back on again.
How many small LED lights can you hook up on one wire? I have the smaller LEDs that I want to run to my compartments and for deck. Can these be put on one switch and circuit? Also what fuse should be used? It is 12 volt battery on boat.
Small LEDs don't draw allot of power so you should be fine. A 5 Amp fuse will do the trick. You may be able to go with a lower Amp fuse if the manufacturer recommends it.
I’m trying to get the right LED light strips and I don’t know which ones really are high-quality Made for underwater and the boat deck is there one that can do both
So far I've used the deck lights only to put stuff away at night. I'll do some actual night fishing in a couple weeks so I'll know more at that point. I don't anticipate the lights being too bright or shining too high because they are on a dimmer switch. I do like the fact that there is a slight angle up so I can take some cool night shots.
@@BassBrothersFishingDMV same here I like the ambient light up , but I'm scared they will be in my eyes. Only one way to find out, I'll be installing mine this weekend.
Hey, great videos! Q: the reviews on the lights say they stop working after a few uses or parts of the strip go out. Any issues yet? I know you put silicone to help adhesion, any de-lamination? Thanks!
No issues at all. All lights are still on like day one. Not sure if that's be a use I added silicone or not. The only change I noticed is the actual light strip has a yellow tint to it from being exposed to the sun. The lights themselves work perfectly fine. Very bright and white. Funny thing is the yellow tint to the strip actually makes the light strips blend in better with the color of the boat lol.
@@BassBrothersFishingDMV Sweet, good to know. I'm thinking the issues the others had were just bad grounds. Love the detail you put into your build. Thanks for sharing.
In general LEDS use little power so I don't anticipate having any issues. They're connect to a 27DC deep cycle battery which has more than enough power. I use and on-board charger to charge all the batteries
@@evanyuhasz8245 both. The front deck lights went to the negative bus bar on the fuse box. The rear deck lights went to a seoarate bus bar at the rear of the boat. The fuse box and the separate negative bus bar both run to the same battery so I was able to do it that way.
Glad you asked ! I was just about to ask myself.... I think I heard him say in a video about a possible "Mod - V" boat in the future. Hope he reply's. Suspense kills me . Lol !
i want to make my tracker 14 foot like your boat want rode locker on i have front deck and wood flooring now can i still make rod locker now with aluminum framing kevin clements
Why haven’t they made led strips that don’t require strips or instructions. I just want to take the red and black wire connect it to something without tons of other stuff, no switches
I know you mean well, but the worst thing you ever want when you're out on a boat at night is rows of white light shining up at you, robbing you of night vision, robbing you of the pleasure of adjusting to ambiant light, posibly even spoiling it for any boater nearby. Even a stern 180° white running light should be shielded from your view in the cockpit.
The parts list for these lights and other components listed is beyond outstanding. Thx for taking the time to explain each step of the light setup. Needed to do the same and is very helpful!
No problem 👍🏾👊🏾

I binge watch this boat build, best thing I could've done. Thank you so much for this detailed video of your build.
No problem Garrett. Glad you enjoyed it. Now go build your boat 😀👍🏾🤙🏾
How many batteries does your boat have? And how are they charged? Thanks

Nice clean install! That dimmer is great!

Looks good bro. Consider adding an led driver to get a smoother light display, will also stop the strobing effect.
Very interested. You got one you can recommend?

Would or anyone happen to know where I can locate some great ideas using the hydorturf to carpet my jon boat?
Is there anyway I can hook lights up like that with just a trolling motor? I have 1 marine battery I use. Thx! And btw... I love the job you did!

Your dimmer switch should have come with instructions to follow. If you've followed them correctly maybe there's something wrong with the switch.

It's below the video. You may have to click on an arrow
What did you do with the negative wires coming off the lights? Where did you hook those up to
Those went to my negative bus bars.
Negative bus bars on the fuse box or a separate one?
@@evanyuhasz8245 both. The front deck lights went to the negative bus bar on the fuse box. The rear deck lights went to a seoarate bus bar at the rear of the boat. The fuse box and the separate negative bus bar both run to the same battery so I was able to do it that way.

How the led holding up?
