I remember seeing the clip and hearing it my first on on hey hey it's saturday
Mental As Anything were known to open the creation of their music videos to secondary schools as a competition. Reg Mombassa is one of the creative minds behind Mambo which features alot of Australiana designs on clothing, art, posters.
I was fortunate enough to meet Greedy Smith at the Australian Songwriters Association awards dinner when he was being inducted to the Songwriters Hall of Fame a few months before we lost him. What a lovely, humble and down to earth man. RIP Greedy.

Well done. I knew someone would finally get to the Mentals. Lol a pile of awesome songs. One of my favourites is ‘if you leave me can I come too’, ‘the nips are getting bigger’ is also a gem. dive in. Lol
I agree. While this is ok, The Nips Are Getting Bigger has that iconic bass line, and If You Leave Me is so amusing. I'd also add Just Like Romeo and Juliet & Spirit Got Lost. They started out as a university band that use to play for drinks. The keyboard player was called "Greedy Smith" because at one gig, he took a bucket of KFC on stage and ate it during the show!
Aah The Mentals, delightfully whimsical. Many more lovely songs to hear, Berserk warriors has always been a favourite.

Love the Mentals. Saw them many times. Another great live act. Co lead vocalist Andrew (Greedy) Smith would be playing his keyboard while blowing bubbles. He passed way beyond his time. A fun band. One of my greatest memories of the Mentals was the live concert at Luna Park Sydney NYE overlooking Sydney Harbour with fireworks in backdrop.

The Mentals were great live. When I was backpacking Europe and North America in the late '80s, "The Nips Are Getting Bigger" was stuck in my head the whole time. RIP Greedy Smith.
PS: One of the band members Reg Mombassa was the creator of the Mambo clothing line.
I think the band formed when they were doing art degress at UNI ,I remember they showed this Video to Anna and Bjorn from ABBA on countdown and they didnt seem very impressed LOL
