Good video man. Looks like I'm selling the Upranger since the same gripes you had, I have also had about the pack.
The G3 is what I went with and I love it, The bag itself is heavy but worth it. It was designed and engineered with fucking precision!
Generally, where do you stick your magazines? I’m thinking of the G3 Phantom for a mountain hunting setup and double as something I can take to the range.
I stick my mags in mag holsters on my belt for matches. When I’m hunting I have my mag in my rifle. Other than that just throw them in the pack anywhere. G3 is way too heavy imo for a mountain hunting setup. Damn thing is almost 10lbs dry. And it doesn’t carry heavy weight well at all. So if you do harvest something good luck. You’ll hate it.
What is the interior dimensions of that?
Thanks for the review.. so after 1 year of use with your R3, are your still impressed or did you find out too many cons and finally switch for another bag?
I do still use it for local matches and still like it a lot. But I’m also using the F3 pack that’s in my 2022 gear update video. That’s a great pack as well. I think I’ll be switching over to a MR pack in the next month or 2 tho pretty soon. Eberlestock packs just don’t carry over 50ish lbs very well at all. There’s no functional load lifters on their packs.
You mentioned you wouldn't recommend any of these over other packs for field style matches… So, for those type of matches what would you recommend?
I’d recommend something lighter. Stone glacier approach 2800, mystery ranch pintler, kifaru 22 mag. Those all carry heavy weight better and have a full frame system. Plus the dry weights are less than eberlestock which has no full frame system so doesn’t carry a heavy load as well as the others.

Thanks man! I actually used an Eberlestock LoDrag 2. Wasn’t in the video cause I wasn’t a huge fan. Will probably end up selling it. I used it for the last 3 national matches I went too.

@@Covertnoob5 I’m likin that phantom, might have to take a look at that. I run the shape charge now. Only gripe is that it’s Hard to zip up if top loading when you have items in the top compartments, just flops all over. But love that you can access from the bottom tho, so it’s easy to get in and out.
