Nice addition, I definitely find it useful on mine. I replaced the spindle pulley clamp nut and made one that can also function as a spider if needed. That way, I can leave it in place.
Having to do the same on mine. PM1130 slits in the nut with screws to spread it and jam the nut. Nearest I had on hand was 4" round that I'm turning down to 3.087" in diameter and 3" long 4140. 48mm x 1.5 threads.
