The 6.7% interest is on Savings account balances of more than 10 Lakhs. So it is more of a teaser rate to attract more customers. I would rather put up FDs than park 20 lakhs in savings account where 10 lakhs will earn 4% and remaining 10 lakhs will only earn 6.7%

There won't be big dilution as you speak.40% of IDFC First Bank shares are held by the parent company IDFC Ltd and it will be distributed among its share holders.It has already given a special dividend of 13Rs to its share holders after selling its MF business.Remerger may take place anytime.It is left for a committee to study the valuation and swap ratio.IDFC will get delisted after announcement of remerger.It has no businesses now other than having 40% of Bank shares.

Yes we agree with your analysis and have faith in Mr Vydyanathan and his team. What is bothering is after the merger , what role does Feauture group will play if they go the way like Nirnav Modi , Lalith Modi or Vijaya Malya inverters will be in soup . If Mr Vydyanathan continues to stay with bank it will safe after the merger if Feature group replaces Mr Vydyanathan & team ?
