The band made a good investment in Angie! Also Yuri! She was killing it on the drums! Some real complex stuff. Of course the core of the band where their normal awesomeness!
Great reaction! Finally Yuri shines! Her drums were phenomenal in this. Koga is awesome as usual. And Angie is really starting to show her singing prowess and take over as the main lead singer. I love this new direction. They are a little funkier, but still staying true to who they are. The message is great! Yes, we all pretend to be who we aren't sometimes (especially at work where I need to behave myself and pretend to be professional). I am who I am at home and on social media. Too old to pretend I'm someone else. 😂 Looking foward to this album and see what else they have in store.
Gacharic Spin really out there living that anime meme of *"This isn't even my **_final_** form!"* They just keep leveling up. They even added new back-up dancers! They can't keep getting away this! 😉
Koga mentioned with the addition of Angie she can now write lyrics she originally thought wouldn’t sound right because of their age and they added to the band talented lyricist in Angie and yuri.
Hey, welcome back. GS is maturing in an interesting way, something like finding a structure or a plan. Their latest music has developed a whole story in each song without losing cohesiveness. In general they seem to be as chaotic as ever but with much more catchiness. The video is probably their best I've seen, great quality.
I read the lyrics and watch the visuals and what keeps popping into my head is other people's expectations. And don't let them shape what you are. Anyone else?
I always feel like you at the beginning of the song... goosebumps...which spread all over my body the longer the song goes. I'm so looking forward to the new album and I hope my skin can take it. Good reaction as always👍🏽✌🏽
Except for Gold Dash,Gacharic Spin albums still sounds like mixtapes or nowadays it’s called playlist (I feel old lol),but they regained the edginess they lost when their original vocalist Armmy left and added a lot pf angst (the band seems to be too happy on their songs, with a mix of some sadness, but rarely anger),which I think Angie brought to the band.
I remember not thinking much of Angie when she just joined, she had lots of energy but her vocal ability didnt seem that special at first. I thought she would be relegated to the "hype" role. Yet here we are, her singing has gotten insanely good and it seems she breath new life into the whole group. They have always been fun and energetic, but idk theres a drive to them recently that feels great. I think Yuri plus Hana moving to guitar are a big part of that too.
If I ever get to go to Japan I bucket list I'd to see these girls and hanabie if I can do that I think I could die happy I am so jealous that you got to go
Interesting reaction. The song just about hangs together and has its "moments". The lyrics could be the basis for philosophical / psychological / moral discussion. For some people the idea of a "true self" is self-evident, others find it problematic.. Personally I'm sceptical, one can imagine the "self" as a cut diamond, something that evolves through time and circumstance, it has many facets, none of which is any more or less true or false than the others. If one is a series of replicas - can any of them be "true" , the "original" ?
GS are on fire ! Just to add something to the discussion, who knew Hana played in a band before GS ? Well here is your answer. The band was called Spade13. ua-cam.com/video/M_a-ALIUvis/v-deo.html
@@homegnome2429 Thanks for replying. She has been a very busy girl ! I was hoping Ray would have a look as Hans is one of his favs. One of my favs is GSs in disguise gigs.
Angie has taken a workload off Hana’s shoulders. It looks like Hana is more creative on guitar without having to divide her attention. Also, Angie’s energy has infected the whole band.
Between the lyrics and the animation, there is SO much social commentary going on here that is hard to take in in one sitting. This time, I'm struck by how controlled we are when we all assume similar masks, mimic each other, and reflect the same thoughts and emotions as others, but cannot (or may not) express our own individual, true feelings and opinions. The marionette image illuminates that sentiment. Further, we think we've surrounded ourselves with true friends who turn out to be poured from the same mould, shape-shifted into chess-piece pawns and incapable of saying much more than the same well-worn phrases as everyone else. When I'm in that space, I have to dig down and find my own self-affirmations and motivational pep talk. I think the members of Gacharic Spin have experienced this personally, both individually and as a band, e.g., not as easily marketable as other acts and/or misunderstood by all except their fans. Others have countered that this interpretation is a stretch, but I truly sense it. Oh yeah -- the music is sharp like a razor's edge -- not at all the loose and wild exuberance of "Broken Lover." I think that's the focus you're referring to.

Agreed. Yuri is a great drummer and seems to have stepped up a gear. As you say they are all awesome.

Nice reaction, Ryan. Gacharic Spin is such an original band in the JP sonic landscape.

The lyrics of GS have been so good on the last 2 albums especially. I also liked the animation for this MV a lot.
Cheers :)

Yes, this is one of their best songs IMHO. Love all that is going on.

Great message in the song.. easier to learn the older we get. 😁

Love the lyrics. Great band.
I find this one so intense, took a number of views to take in all of the music, the lyrics and the visuals...what an introduction to the album! :)

Yuri is so good in this one.....

It would be great if we were all our real selves, unless your real self is a serial killer, then I’m fine with you pretending to be normal.

@@DJAYPAZ I sent Ryan a link to the "Hanatera" clip that Koga posted recently - I hope they will release some more footage at some point.
@@homegnome2429 There is another clip somewhere I would have to find it again. Hana is playing the piano and singing !!
