to clarify, they put out a message to all reactors that they wanted us to react to the video, sorry if I was misleading! I didn't mean to imply that they reached out personally!
That's what I get for trying to give info before watching the actual reaction. Sorry for the spam. I was going to watch it later today and should have waited. Good to know we probably don't have to pass on the info to other reactors any more.
@@RyanMear Nothing serious, I commented about this contest a couple of times before having watched your video. So my guess was that you had cleaned them up and I tried a couple of times, since they were pretty unnecessary after having watched the video, but maybe it was the yt bots that did. It doesn't really matter, the main thing is that I should watch videos before commenting regardless, it's just that some of the reactors didn't seem to know about the contest yesterday. I really liked you reaction though and it's good to know that they actually contacted some reactors themselves and not just posted a video on their channel and some info online. I really have the feeling Nippon Crown is trying to push them to Western audiences as well and that is such a great thing after their previous label Victor seemed to have forgotten about them.
Yes, there are quite a few folk tales involved. Kachi-Kachi Yama, Kintaro, Momotaro, Tanuki (maybe more). It's more or less about that live throws you curveballs, but since live won't stop doing it, make the best out of it and grow from those experiences. Can't wait for your reaction - Cheers :)
I'm glad the Hana and Angie harmonies stuck around for the chorus in this song. Also having Hana switch to the acoustic drums while Yuri did electric trigger drums was fun as well.
Great job Ryan - loved the Japanese pop up banners even though I can't read them - that was a good move on your part I think. Thank you Gacharic Spin and all of the other awesome bands from Asia and especially Japan - FOR BRINGING REAL MUSICIANSHIP AND REAL CREATIVITY BACK to the music world!!!! The percussion in that breakdown section was super cool too.
This is the most fun song I've heard in a long time. It reminds me a lot of the K-On anime. I can't remember a specific song but they are similar in feel.
'Kachi Kachi Yama' means a children's story that everyone in Japan knows. There are also other stories such as 'Sarukani gassen'. It is sung like a cheering song to the hard-working people of today. The music is as funky and cool as the mindset.🦾😎
I've listened to this a few times, now, and it is catchy as hell! It'll be interesting to see this one performed live. It's been fascinating to watch how Angie has really grown into her role over the last few years. She radiates charisma.
They do as far as I can see. They posted an image with a lot of dates on twitter and there are a couple of June dates on there. I dont know where those venues are exactly though.
They have three dates in June: June 3, at Fukuoka DRUM Be-1 June 11 at Aichi Nagoya Electric Lady Land June 25 at Ishikawa Kanazawa AZ I used Google translate on the image that I screen captured so it might not be completely accurate. The dates and the venues were in English so those should be accurate but the location was Google translated.
@@HALberdier17 There also seem to be 2 at the right side of the image, 06/04 - B.9 V2 and 06/24 Club Junk Box. But I don't know why they have 2 different tours in June and some of it overlaps. Edit: Those 2 I mentioned don't seem to be full concerts I guess, but more like a moving festival or something. Better stick with the 3 others.

You should be able to see GS somewhere around Tokyo pretty much any month but December Really you should be able to see them any week but maybe they’re playing to big of venues now. I remember when they played two or three times a week nearly all year round…hardest working ladies in rock and roll…

I always appreciate your reaction videos, you’re one of my favourite reactors. Japanese is such a great language for rap style singing because it is a naturally fast language and heavy with consonants. I just wish they could be more energetic! 😂😂😂😂
Hi Ryan, hey everyone. 👋 I like this song and video more with each listen - thanks for a great reaction vid! 👍😎 Don’t they all look amazing, too? I see a few new hairstyles. 🤩🔥🫶
I swear half the reason I listen almost exclusively to Japanese and Korean music is it almost always is positive, but aggressive and technical all at the same time. Nothing better than music that makes you happy and rips. This is another band I am going to see live if they ever tour the Northeast US. I am slowly working thru the list of great Japanese bands and they are on it. Peace.
I have been listening to this song every opportunity I can over the last few days, it is so crammed with details, fun, and incredible playing! Thank you for reviewing!
4:47 Red Hot Chills Peppers 😄 I really love this song, especially the very KACHI KACHI Chorus. It reminds me a bit of the song "Start Line" by eijun in which Angie features on vocals. Same catchy chorus. Thank you Ryan, I hope your video will be select by Gachapin :)
High priority alert! They have just released new live video of a new song on their channel called "The Come Up Chapter" - as a guitarist I think you will love this!
Echo that sentiment. Really wanna see them live. Kinda digging FCK's new do. Much like, for me, Miku has that little extra "something ", so does Angie. Can't take my eyes off of her.
What more needs to be said about these remarkable group of women that hasn't already been said. A new banger courtesy of Gacharic Spin with Angie once again leading the charge just as in Mindset two years earlier. Certainty wasn't expecting that switch between Hana and Yuri but it was a most welcome surprise to see Hana behind the kit going ham with her trademark footwork while trading back and forth with Yuri on percussion. As for Koga san, Tomo-Zo and Oreo, they are as always absolutely fantastic with what they bring to the musical smorgasbord that is Gacharic Spin. Side note: Wish GS would consider touring outside of Japan again beyond just repeatedly playing at Anime Matsuri in the States which they have done several times in the past. I'm sure playing at such an event is a great deal of fun though the amount of time allotted to perform on stage (from what I've seen in videos online) was all too brief when I know from watching their live DVDs and Blu-Ray's that they're capable of playing live for well over 2 hours. That aside I can't wait for the new album to drop✌️❤❤🤘🇦🇺🪃
The title comes from a series of folk-tales about a rabbit playing horrific pranks on a tanuki to revenge the deaths of a farmer couple. There are references to several other folk-tales - "Monkey-Crab Quarrel", "Mukashi Mukashi Ehon", "Issun Boshi", "Momotaro", and "Kintaro". All of these stories revolve around some gruesome revenge taken on the antagonists. I think what the lyrics are saying is let's chill out, have empathy with others, and resolve our disputes by more constructive means. From the pov of the demons, they were minding their business on Demon Island until Momotaro and his entourage arrive. Issun Boshi should be grateful to the oni that ate him because otherwise he would not have grown from 1 inch to 6 foot. Angelina even screams sorry to Mr. Tanuki for kicking his ass.
Tomo-zo reminds me of Terry Kath’s playing style. Blazing rhythms and a great solo when the song needs it. Terry didn’t have the ever present smile though.
I'm starting to think that she's physically incapable of not having a smile on her face or even approaching a neutral look. Ever since I noticed it in that weird breakdown part in I Wish I where they are all lined up and either looking deadpan or unhappy. And at the end is just Tomo-Zo almost forcing herself to not look happy and not really managing to do it. ;D
