    Excellent breakdown. Pretty much spot on of how I do it. And for the last mix I call it Complementing Rhythms. It could be a beat, melody, bass line, etc. They don't have to sound the same just complement each other. While Key is important for this type of mixing, to me Complementing Rhythms are more important or higher priority.

    • @SoundofArman

      Thanks! I haven't really felt the need to upgrade them - these have all the features I need and use regularly, and the cost to upgrade would be a lot! I almost never have to bring them to venues to play either, as the venues always have the gear.

      I really like the nexus series, being able to have the waveform in view allows me to be more precise with the mixes, in the same way the cdj 2000 is almost the same for me but I have to worry about counting the phrases 😂

    Great video. I used to dj over 20 years ago, looking to teach my son. I used to use pioneer cmx 5000's, a couple technics turntables and a rane mp2016 rotary mixer. Very old school equipment by today's standards. I'm impressed with your tables and how you can visually see the track. What equipment are you using and what mixer is that? I may be in the market for some new stuff soon if my son gets into it, and wondering what is out there that is good now

    Awesome video! Super helpful, my only question, should I have both eqs and both volumes at 12 at some point when blending or should I be bringing down the mid and the low when the new song hits 12 on the east and full volume????

      Soulful House is, shall I say made of pumping baseline with strong uplifting lyrics
      But to give you a better idea of it's like I made this playlist for you

      PS: ua-cam.com/video/hoQG0gkqkOg/v-deo.html
      is probably my favorite track but so hard to mix in/out because of it's unsteady BPM

    Great video thanks. I seem to have clipping basslines or basslines that are slightly off from time to time. Adjusting the jockey wheels doesnt really seem to matter so it's not a beatmatch problem i guess. Do I need to kill the mid's more as well or can this also be song dependent? (some match better than others maybe?)

    Thanks for another informative tutorial Arman - really appreciate the focus on progressive house, i've not found many others at your level, dedicated to this genre on UA-cam. Question: when introducing the new song you already had the treble fully open rather than bringing it up gradually as with mids and bass; I get why it can work, but is it a technique you use more often than not?

    • @SoundofArman
      @SoundofArman  3 роки тому +5

      I almost always use that technique unless the highs are very loud, then I will turn it down. I like to leave the highs there for a couple reasons: one, it serves as a marker to still check on your beat match, and two, it often sounds good to bring in fast to keep the energy level up as the old song starts to fade out.
