Your grandpa reminds me of my grandpa, he died 4 years ago from diabetes, but he was such an incredible man, he worked in Switzerland and Italy for a couple of years during my mother's childhood and he even learned Italian including German and French, he was a classy man and always wore nice clothes and watches, he had a big sweet tooth and my grandma would always make cakes for him before he was diagnosed with diabetes in his late 60s, he had to cut his leg off too due to his high blood sugar, but even being an amputee he stayed strong and acted like he still had his leg, he would read my bedtime stories and would build cribs and sell them in the street. I miss him a lot even though I forgot his voice and how he looked like, he'll always be in my memories.

One of my favorite things about reading historical fiction is descriptions of what people ate and how they prepared meals. That same love extends to other countries and cultures. I love seeing what people eat and how they prepare meals. Food is so integral to community. Please tell her how much we appreciate learning about the world at large!
Thank you for this comment! My grandma definitely shares the view about food being part of a culture everywhere: it’s what brings people together and I think especially back in their days, that’s the reason why she is always making sure people are well fed. It gives the comfort of being taken care of in a much broader way. Thanks for watching! 💖
My husband was Hungarian and I am American, he lived in America longer than Hungary and he made bean soup it had a rue sauce at the end semi-thick and it was to die for, yummy, this brings back good memories, he cooked so many good things just like your Grandmother. GOD BLESS ALL!
AAA I'm so glad to see the bean soup is so popular also abroad!! Honestly, in Italy it is more common to have pasta with it but my grandpa just likes it as it is with bread so it can get tasty and soft in the soup. I rarely eat bean soup in general (and never abroad lol) so this has become one of the moment I am looking forward to every time I spend time with my grandparents. Thank you for sharing your memories! Sending a big hug :)
Your grandparents are so precious and I love how they adore the camera 🥺💕 I'm sure you'll look back on these videos fondly when you're away from them, thank you for sharing these moments!!!

I have a special affinity for Italian cooking. I grew up in a small town outside of Chicago and volunteered at St. Donates church. There was a group of Sicilian women making pizzas from scratch for the church fair and my seven year old self was always there to help and sample :).
I am not Italian, I’m from the States and one day I want to travel around Europe and especially Italy. The food looks absolutely delicious compared to some of the things we eat here in America and definitely healthier in some respects as well compared to the diet here in the states.
I just found this video and your channel, and since I recently travelled to Italy (Palermo), I decided to watch. Oh my goodness, I was not expecting the emotions..! I am from Moldova. When I was little and visiting my grandparents, my grandfather also broke the bread apart and put it into his soup in this way. I wanted to do everything like him, so I broke my own bread into little pieces, just like you did, and he would laugh and laugh at me and tell me I didn't need to, I had good teeth! But it's the way he did it, so I wanted to do it the same, too. :) My grandmother would crack up laughing at the two of us. Now, she has passed, and my grandfather luckily is in great health still. (Knock on wood!) We both miss her terribly. I live in another country and rarely get to see him. Your video made me cry bittersweet, fat tears. Thank you for this video. 💕
Pasta with caramelized onions …. I have never seen or heard of that before but sounds good ….it always cracks me up that old Italian nanny’s and aunts never use cutting boards, always slicing & cutting in their hands … all the food looks incredible …. Reminds me of my Italian aunts kitchen and cooking … always something on the stove for never ending good food …
this is so true! Pasta and caramelised onions is one of my grandpa's fave and it's so quick to make and delicious it feels like you're cheating to get such a good flavour lol Bonus point if you add parmesan cheese when you mix the onions and spaghetti in the pan, so the heat will make everything blend well and crispy 🤌
@@RosaDaniello I stand corrected by myself. I forgot about this. Have not had it yet but it is close to your grand pas favorite. His recipe by Alison Roman is only other time I have seen this. I have lived in Italy and been there many times and have off the boat relatives here in US and they have never made so love it when I find something new. Now going to try it .look up on UA-cam Alison roman caramelized shallots pasta.

Just found your channel, I love how many food recipes I get to see in one video, gets me really inspired. Makes me remember my childhood and my father's cooking.

How beautiful! What wonderful moments you have with them. They truly love you as you do them. I miss my grandma and being in the kitchen with her. I’d do anything to have that back, this truly reminded me of that genuine love and happiness. Thank you for sharing❤️
Thank you for watching! I’m sure your grandma loved you just as much❤️
I am greek , and this is exactly the same same way we eat the tomato bean soup. With feta cheese 😊❤
Aaaa I love feta cheese! To be fair, I have never been disappointed with food around the Mediterranean 🫡
Your grandpa is so precious, I love him 🥰!! You and your family all seem so kind thank you for making feel like a part of it
Your grandparents are so sweet and natural ❤ I miss so much those moments in the kitchen with mine when i was a child, they're not with me anymore. Our ancestors are a real treasure of the life, we learn and grow so much with them. May God bless you and your grandparents. Love and happiness from France 😊❤
Thank you so much for your words, sending all the good vibes 💖
This was so beautiful to watch. Your Nonna and Grandfather are beautiful. Nothing better than sharing delicious food with the ones you love. Cute pup!
Thank you. Food is a love language 🫶

Sending you a big hug and all the good vibes, thank you for watching 💖
One of my favorite things about reading historical fiction is descriptions of what people ate and how they prepared meals. That same love extends to other countries and cultures. I love seeing what people eat and how they prepare meals. Food is so integral to community. Please tell her how much we appreciate learning about the world at large!
Thank you for this comment! My grandma definitely shares the view about food being part of a culture everywhere: it’s what brings people together and I think especially back in their days, that’s the reason why she is always making sure people are well fed. It gives the comfort of being taken care of in a much broader way. Thanks for watching! 💖
This reminds me of my own portuguese grandparents. I love them. May they live forever ❤
That’s so cute! Lots lot love for you and your grandparents 🥰
The relationship you 3 have is so sweet. Plus the food looks amazing..props to grandma!
Thank you so much 🥹💕
your grand parents are litrrally so cute i was smiling the whole time
Your grandparents are so precious and I love how they adore the camera 🥺💕 I'm sure you'll look back on these videos fondly when you're away from them, thank you for sharing these moments!!!
I was so surprised and happy! Literally the reason why I made this videos in the first place 😭 actually, my grandma encouraged me to do it 🥲
Hi
I have a great recipe
I just lost my grandma today she is 85 and my grandpa 2 weeks ago he is 88 so you dont know how lucky you are they are still alive and making you good food with love. Cherish every moments with them as if there is no tomorrow. ❤ nice video ty for sharing your grandparents to us the viewers. I miss you lola so much i love you
They’re 82 and 87 and I see they’re getting old faster so I wanted to make some memories. Thank you for sharing your story, sending a big hug 💕
I have a special affinity for Italian cooking. I grew up in a small town outside of Chicago and volunteered at St. Donates church. There was a group of Sicilian women making pizzas from scratch for the church fair and my seven year old self was always there to help and sample :).
This is so sweet 💕 thank you for sharing this wholesome memory! 💖
I am not Italian, I’m from the States and one day I want to travel around Europe and especially Italy. The food looks absolutely delicious compared to some of the things we eat here in America and definitely healthier in some respects as well compared to the diet here in the states.
I love to relax and watch your videos. You are so blessed to have your grandparents and their dog. Thank you and them. I can only dream. ❤
thank you so much for watching, sending all the love back 🩵
I just found this video and your channel, and since I recently travelled to Italy (Palermo), I decided to watch.
Thank you so much Daria, I’m glad this video brought you some comfort and thank you for sharing your story 💖
Beautiful grandparents. Bless their heart
Now going to try it .look up on UA-cam Alison roman caramelized shallots pasta.
protect your grandparents at all costs i love them they’re so fun and adorable 🥹🥹
Love your grandparents. Nonna should write a cookery book. Everything she makes looks delicious.
Few people suggested that and spoiler alert might be a future project 👀

When she asks again why would people want to watch this?? I personally watch them nostalgically because it reminds me of my grandma's cooking. Grandma's find a way to make anything taste good.

I just came across your channel and I absolutely LOVE IT. The kitchens are very small in Italy, but your Nonna puts out meals like they were made in a gourmet kitchen. Ciao to your Nonna and Poppa! That bean soup looks so good. I am about the same age as your Nonna and Poppa, so I remember eating beans a lot when I was younger. I'm not Italian, but I cook eat that food everyday. It all looks so delicious.
Thank you so much this is so sweet! 🥰 Ciao and big hug to you! You're so passionate I'm sure you cook delicious food every day 💖
