  • In this video I'm making hairpin legs using the bender I made in the last video.
You can find that video here: • Hairpin leg bender DIY
The legs are 800mm high and made from solid 8mm round bar.
The top plates are 25x1.6mm flat bar.
Painted with spray can undercoat and top coated with semi-gloss black enamel.

Cool look! Any overspray on the bike? Memories for me when I got overspray all over the family car when I was a kid, me bad.

Thanks Scott. No worries about overspray. The bike was given to me as a long term project to build a café racer. What's left of the motor is toast. Not even sure yet how much of the bike I will actually use.

love the cafe racer builds. I have recently breathed life back into an 1973 SL100. Good luck with your builds!

Thanks again. I just watched your café racer build series. That was a huge effort. You should be proud. Well done.

What MIG process/ electrode did you use? I’m just learning welding. Great video, thank you.

G'day Mate. Nothing special, just used a relatively cheap MIG/Gas welder for this one. I have since upgraded but the cheaper one was more than adequate for the job (until it died). I prefer gas shielding over fluxcore, much nicer finish.
Good luck with learning to weld, it's a lot of fun.

One handing the grinder while using the other hand to hold the piece you are cutting off.. You sure must hate your fingers a whole heck of a lot. Not having all your digits is not an IF case but a WHEN case, it's definitely coming if you work like that
